I was late for my first day, which wasn't my fault. I'd gotten a text this morning that said that his Majesty Mr. Richmond, needed coffee. I was already twenty minutes late by that time and by the time I'd gotten his coffee from Starbucks, the bus had left.

Then, I had to wait ten minutes for the next bus, and then twenty as the bus drove around town and the a five minute walk as I walked from the bus stop to my new office building.

I was out of breath when the elevator opened on my floor. Jessica, the secretary of our floor -she'd finally told me her name when I'd gotten hired -smiled pitifully at me.

"You're latey hon." She said in her accent. She only used it when she was talking to me. I think she did it because I was always clammy.

I sighed as I caught my breath. "Is he mad?"

She pursed her lips. "Depends on what you mean?"

"Depends on what I mean? What do you mean? Is he mad or not? I'm going to get fired aren't I?" I groaned, holding my satchel close to me and gingerly placing the coffee on her desk. I straightened myself up, retucking my dress shirt into my khakis. I looked up at her. "How do I look?"

She assest me. "Like you just ran a marathon." I groaned and she laughed. "Oh, I'm just joking. You look good"

"You sure?"

"You look fine. Now go in, you don't want to be later than you already are." She winked at me. "Good luck." I was going to need it. Sighing, I grabbed the coffee and walked down the short corridor to Richmond's office.

I sighed again, bracing myself before pushing the door open. Richmond sat at his desk- obviously -he didn't lift his when I came in and I stood still at the entrance, shifting awkwardly as he continued to type on his computer.

After a minute, I saw his eyes shift towards me, I gulped, but he just looked back at his computer. "Close the door will you." I jumped, turning and closing the door quickly behind me. "And my coffee, that's an hour late." He droned. I walked to the desk, placing the coffee in front of him, hopefully it hadn't gotten cold.

"Here you go, it's black, no sugar with a pinch of salt." I stood, waiting for him to take the coffee. Without looking away from the screen, he picked up the cup and drank from it. He didn't say anything as he set it down and got back to typing.

I stood, awkwardly watching him work. Was this how it was going to be? Me just standing around waiting for him to tell me what to do? And why did I feel so nervous?

I was startled when he spoke, but he barely spared a glance at anything apart from his screen. "There's a contract we need to sign with the city mayor." He began. "We're thinking of insurance on a city level-" he looked up at me, "- will you please sit down." I smiled sheepishly, before taking a seat on the guest chair. He leaned back in his seat, linking his fingers. "We need to pitch to him why he needs to ensure the whole damned city."

"Seems silly actually." I said, regretting it immediately, when he glared at me.

"It would mean extra tax from people and all that, I know." He rolled his eyes. " It's ridiculous, but the heads have gone along with it, so we have to make sure the whole proposal goes smoothly. That's our biggest project of the week." We as in him and I? I nodded. "Your desk is right there in the corner-" he pointed at a smaller version of his desk that I hadn't seen last time, that was placed in the corner of the room by the door. It had its own computer and files stacked on top of it. "-that's where you'll be working. There's a tablet that has to be with you at all times. It has my schedule, a list of important contacts and that's where you'll be required to take minutes of every single meeting that I attend. Are we clear?" I nod.

He reaches into a drawer and pulls out a phone, he slides it to me. "That's my work phone. It's yours to answer, you take all my business calls, all of them. No one is allowed to contact me before they've gone through you. You make the appointments." I nod. He takes a sip of his coffee again. "I need files from the HR department. Go get them and bring them to me." Who's the HR department head? Where is the HR department I wanted to ask, he beat me to it. "Your tablet has a list of every single employee in the building, it also has a map. Use it." He said, turning his attention away from me to his computer.

I stood and walked to the desk. A silver ipad was laying face down on it, I picked it up and switched it on. It was password protected. I thought about asking him what the password was when I thought better of it and typed his name in the bar, opening the device. I snorted. Figures.

So far so good I guess. Today hasn't gone to shit, and I didn't even get reprimanded about being late. Hopefully Richmond wouldn't be too intense, but I thought he was alright just as he was.

I dropped my satchel on the seat and started to the door, looking at the map for the building. I pulled it open, walking through and making to close it behind me when Richmond called out to me.

I looked at him. "Yes."

He looked away from his screen, his piercing brown eyes making contact with mine."Don't be late again."

The HR director was a very nice lady, who'd welcomed me with a smile. She introduced to me some other people that worked in her department and they seemed nice too.

They'd also wished me luck, with working for Richmond, which made me even more nervous.

This was different from confronting him about losing my job. He was my boss now, he literally had my job in his incapable hands. Though he didn't seem that bad, he definitely looked like a man that liked things done in a specific way–his way to be exact. He might be tough to please and I have a seventy percent chance of ending up in the street without a job again if I mess up. He took pity on me and gave me the job, so I'd have to do my best and prove that I was worthy of it. Though, he was the reason I lost my job in the first place, but whatever.

I clutched the files in my arms and walked to the elevator, people nodded and said hi as I passed by. I don't think working here would be so bad. Though it seemed that perhaps I spoke too soon, because as I turned the corner of the hallway, I bumped into a large brick wall, sending the file to the floor.

I sighed, thanking god that it wasn't the tablet. I bent down to pick up the file when the brick wall I'd bumped into beat me to it.

"I'm sorry." He said, handing me the file. His voice was deep, rumbly but it didn't sound mature. I looked up, coming face to face with the most handsome man I'd ever seen in my life. He was clean shaven, brown hair parted in the middle, framing his forehead and cut in the sides. He had blue eyes and tan, olive skin thatw as flawless.

I gaped, almost dropping the folder again. He laughed when he saw me flounder. I flushed, adjusting the files in my hands.

"T-thank you." I stuttered out. He smiled, a damn gorgeous smile it was and tipped his head. He was taller than me—but wasn't everyone?—He looked young, my age young. I thought he might be an intern or something, but looking at his very expensive suit diminished that thought immediately.

His suit didn't scream broke college student. It screamed, a rich buisness man with no time in his hands for someone like me. I stepped back, giving him some space and also trying to hide the flush on my cheeks. He shook his head.

"Don't worry about it." He smiled one last time, giving me a nod and then taking his leave. I watched him go, he was talking to a petit lady I hadn't noticed. His assistant or wife? Maybe.

I groaned, shaking my head. I had a rule and it was no lusting after people that were way out of your league. That man clearly was bars over my league. He probably owned a private jet—actually I didn't doubt that, he probably did.

Huffing, I walked to the elevator, pressing my floor. Richmond's office was on the second top floor, right below the CEO's office. I'd never met him, nor did know his name, no one really talked about him much actually, but guessing that I was working for Richmond, meant that I was going to be encountering him sooner or later and how shitty would it look when someone who got payed off your money didn't even know your name. I made a mental note to ask Jessica later.

A week later and I can say that I at least have gotten the hang of things. Richmond wasn't a total douche. He just had his moods in the morning, they usually got worse if he didn't have his coffee by eight. And I found that I was right, he was a man of order, but that wasn't so bad, it did become a problem however when he was stressed out, which he definitely was this week with the deal we had to make for the city mayor. We'd jumped from meeting to meeting all week, talking to certain people. Me in the corner, typing on the laptop he'd given me. It was a little hard to keep up with at first, but after a few days and hours of doing it, I can confidently say that I at least know what I'm doing. Today was Friday. We had the meeting with the board and the city mayor, to convince him to sign with us. The more I looked at the papers involving the deal the less I liked it, but Jessica had told me it was none of my business. I kind of thought it was since I would be the one who had to pay

"The board wants to have a meeting about the department directors." I looked up from my game of computer chess to gaze at Richmond. He was looking down at a file, his body reclined back in his seat and his ankle crossed on his right leg. "Elias. He says most of them are screwing the secretaries, and we need to fix it."I scrunched my nose. "Did he actually say that?""He implied it." He sighed, setting the file down and looking at me. His piercing blue eyes stoic as usual. "Thing is, if he brings up the matter with board, I'll be seen as incompetent, seeing as I'm the one who hired the bastards.""What do you want to do?""I need to get rid of the worst ones, before the meeting, so that I don't get fired." I frowned."Mr. Bradley and Mr. Brandon wouldn't let that happen." I assumed so, since they seemed awfully fond of Richmond. His brow rose. "They have no power against it, kid. If they get out voted, I go. No argument about it." He ran a hand through his shiny hair. "So, what do y

"Mr. Delano, I'm glad you could take time out of your…many obligations to meet with me." Richmond smiled. Flat and mockingly. Delano glanced at me, an accusing glint to the look, I smiled. He glanced back at Richmond and smiled in what was supposed to be a charming grin, but looked more like a snake trying to open its mouth wide enough to fit its prey. "Mr. Richmond. I uh, gathered that this meeting may be about my team's last presentation." He scoffed dismissively. "I know it was... Horrible, to put it nicely, but I know you and I can both agree that my team was incompetent." Richmond made a non committal sound. Delano grinned again. "Lazy people, all of them under-skilled and in need of experience. Most lacked proper training."Richmond leaned back in his seat, twirling a pen with his fingers. "Interesting. Especially since…you were the one in charge of training our new interns this time around."He spoke thoughtfully. Delano went pale, and I fought a grin. Richmond sat forward and

"I'm sorry." I blinked, shaking my head. "Could you repeat what you just said? I don't think I heard you right."Brandon and Bradley shared a look. "We'd like to go out with you." They both said, and I was beginning to understand why Richmond hated it when they spoke in unison. I let out a shaky breath, still not understanding anything they were saying. "You want me ... To date the both of you?"Bradley nodded. "Yes---no! No, no." He sighed. "We both like you, Sam, a lot. As juvenile as that sounds, but you can't date both of us at the same time. We're..." He glanced at his brother and his face contorted. "We're not those kinds of twins."Brandon nodded. "We'd like you to choose.""Choose?" I asked. They nodded. I spluttered. "I-I can't."Brandon looked confused. "Of course you can."I shook my head. "I… I don't even know you." I said stupidly. Bradley shook his head. "We're fully aware. We don't know you either." I was running late. But it wasn't my fault. I missed my bus, because I woke up late, and I woke up late because I was retyping a contract that Richmond had declared was mediocre at best.I probably would've had enough time to retype it if he'd given it to me at work, but no, the bastard had to call me at ass fucking o'clock, and demand I retype the contract and have the documents to him by this morning. He'd called at ten pm, and I'd gotten done with retyping at two in the morning and then I had to run across the street at the twenty four hour internet cafe and print all the pages out. By the time my head hit the pillow, it was already four thirty am and I swear I'd set my alarm for Six in the morning but I'd missed it and woken up at seven thirty instead. I rushed up and down my tiny apartment and almost killed my cat, getting ready this morning. The bus that I normally took was long gone, and I had to get his majesty's coffee and look up the bus schedule. On top of it all, Richmon

"Okay, what's going on?"I looked up from my plate, and stared at Jessica. "What?" She raised a brow, pointing a manicured nail at my bowl of noodles."You haven't touched your food, and you've had this look on your face for a while, like you're about to poop. You've let the noodles go cold." I looked down at the bowl. Ugh, she was right. I sighed and pushed the bowl away. Jessica blinked at me. "Was it Richmond? What did he say about this morning?" She pressed, Jessica's Brooklyn accent took some getting used to, especially when she switched it off at work. I frowned. "What are you—oh, he said he was sorry." Jessica's mouth gaped. "And that he'll have a driver pick me up from now on." I continued."Really?" I nodded. "What? Is he buying you a house next?""Jessica." I warned She shook her head. Having a man waiting for you outside your building standing in front of a big, black, shiny car, shouldn't have been as intimidating as it was.It felt surreal, watching the car pull into the curb. The driver got out of the car and stood by the driver's side, pulling out his phone and tapping something, completely unaware that I was watching him.Like clockwork, a minute after he put his phone in his pocket, my phone pinged in my hand.DeMarcus was his name. My new personal driver was named DeMarcus. That felt weird to say and to think about. I'd never imagined myself to be in this type of situation. Once, I did imagine myself becoming a personal driver but not the other way around. I shook my head. DeMarcus' texted to inform me that he had arrived. I peered out this window again. My head was pounding with the force of an unforgiving hangover. My hands wrung together in my lap as my heart pounded roughly in my chest. The bathroom was thick with the fog from my shower. I sat on the edge of the counter with my back to the mirror as the veins in my forehead throbbed with the severity of the headache. I'd slept with Clark Richmond. I'd slept with my boss. My fucking boss and it was the best sex I'd had in a long time. No, scratch that, it the was the best sex period. After the sex, we'd both been sated and a little too drunk to think of going back to our rooms. I wish I could've said I'd hightailed it out of his room as soon as I'd regained a semblance of consciousness, but that wasn't what happened at all. Sometime during the night, we'd both stirred from sleep.I'd found myself staring silently at a sleep dazed Clark, my groin swelling as the seconds tucked by. Then he was on top of me, gazing down at me with furrowed brows, as if just the site of me confused

"Mr Richmond...""Clark. Call me Clark dammit." He scolded breathlessly, his eyes fixed on my own bruised lips. "Clark."He nodded. "Yeah." His voice sounded strange, unlike I'd ever heard from him. low and sultry, it made my body shiver and a certain part of me perk up. I flushed, his hand came up to cup my face, his rough thumb rubbing cheek. "I'm sorry." He whispered.I shook my head. "No, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-""Shh...I meant." He chuckled. "I'm sorry, but I want to kiss you again, and again, and..." His eyes bore into mine, sparkling with lust. "If you want me to stop just say the word."My breathing was laboured, his face so close to mine. My mind hazy from the alcohol, but my skin was flushed from something else. "Don't stop." "Are you sure?" I gazed up at him. He was anyone's wet dream come to life, of course I was sure. I nodded wordlessly. He gave a single nod and stood. He held out a hand to me and I took it without a second thought. He lead the way to his room an

"Who was that guy?" I asked as soon as we got into our suite. Richmond dragged his feet over to the bar in the far right corner of the living space. He took a crystal jug of amber liquid and opened it, forgoing the cup and just taking a large gulp out of it. I cringed, setting down the bag of leftovers on the coffee table. I moved to stand next to him at the bar. "You shouldn't be drinking like that." I told him but made no move to reach out and grab the jug. I wasnt that stupid, the man was twice my size and could easily grab and twist my arm. I wouldn't put it passed him either, seeing his mood. He took another large sip, his eyes closing at the burn of the alcohol on his tongue and throat. "You probably enjoy seeing me like this, don't you?"I frowned. "Like what?" "This." He gestured to himself. He had taken his jacket and tie off, and rolled the sleeves of his white dress shirt up. He looked hot, but I knew he wouldn't want to hear that. "I don't know what you mean sir." He c

We arrived at the dinner party a little bit before the dinner was served. Richmond had said it was better to be a little late to things like this, so as to get straight to business and skip the chatter, but I honestly thought he just wanted to make a scene. The dinner party was being held in the garden of one of the largest estates I'd ever seen. The main house alone was big enough to be considered a castle, It probably was honestly. The garden was decorated with fairy lights and floating lamps, with two long tables decorated for the guests. It was all so formal, with women in long ball gowns and expensive jewelry, and the men in three piece suits and cigars hanging from their lips. I felt a bit under dressed in my loose black pants and white polka dotted blouse, but Richmond had assured me I was fine, he on the other hand was dressed to kill, in his expensive three piece ,dark green suit with faint rose details along the jacket. He'd taken a cigar off a tray someone was passing ar

The next few days felt like a flash montage, the days coming and going so fast, we barely had time to stop and eat. With what little time we had to rest, Richmond used that time to call the company back home and check in with how their end of the preparations were going. I wasn't even sure the man slept most of the time. Of course I was just as busy, running around paris, making arrangements, scheduling meetings, attending those same meetings and most of all making sure Richmond didn't fall flat on his ass from exhaustion. As busy and tiring our days seemed to be, I atleast made time to have a small meal here and there and take showers and rest but, I was concerned, Richmond didn't have that luxury, or more so that he wasn't giving himself the luxury to do so. On the fifth day of our stay in Paris was when I put my foot down. We had a dinner party to attend that night at the estate of one of our clients and Richmond was gittery about it but that was normal, what wasn't normal, was h

It seemed that traveling brought the worst out of Richmond. His hair was a mess from the number of times he'd run his hands through it and I'd lost count of the number of cigarettes he'd smoked in the last hour. Our flight was delayed and we had to wait two hours before we could leave. Brandon had done his best to try an calm his uncle but Richmond didn't want to hear it. He was on multiple phone calls at a time, going back and forth between talking with the staff in Paris and calling in with the airport staff to ask for a new pilot. This was a new side of Richmond id never seen, stressed and utterly confused. I couldn't decide whether to feel sorry for him or revel in his current state. Brandon sighed, getting off a phone call with the hotel manager in Paris. "I've never been more than happy to be just a lowly assistant than i have been right now. " I joked. He laughed, pocketing his phone. "And I've never been more jealous of someone's job." I shrugged. "You can only dream." I

"The seating plan arrangement for the banquet is not right." Richmond said, his brows furrowed crossly. "We'll have to redo the entire thing by Wednesday." I set the papers I was stapling down. Richmond didn't like the museum.I would've thought that a man of his... Stature would appreciate a place like this but Richmond looked like he'd rather be hit over the head with a large stone and buried alive than be there. I couldn't identify if his disdain for the place was because he lacked a sense of art or because he couldn't stand being around people for long periods of time.He was as stiff as a board, making a face at a painting, his blue eyes squinting at the splashes of colors that strangely resembled his eyes. A woman moved beside him, a few feet away from him, a camera in her hands. He hissed at her. She flinched, startled, and ran away so fast you'd think Richmond was a wild animal. I rolled my eyes, deciding then that his disdain for the art gallery was clearly because of the people that milled around.Richmond went back to glaring at the painting. I stepped up to him.
