A week later and I can say that I at least have gotten the hang of things.

Richmond wasn't a total douche. He just had his moods in the morning, they usually got worse if he didn't have his coffee by eight.

And I found that I was right, he was a man of order, but that wasn't so bad, it did become a problem however when he was stressed out, which he definitely was this week with the deal we had to make for the city mayor.

We'd jumped from meeting to meeting all week, talking to certain people. Me in the corner, typing on the laptop he'd given me. It was a little hard to keep up with at first, but after a few days and hours of doing it, I can confidently say that I at least know what I'm doing.

Today was Friday. We had the meeting with the board and the city mayor, to convince him to sign with us. The more I looked at the papers involving the deal the less I liked it, but Jessica had told me it was none of my business. I kind of thought it was since I would be the one who had to pay extra tax, but whatever.

I stacked a pile of papers on the conference table, right where Richmond was going to sit. Jessica was helping me put out water bottles for the guests.

"I think that's enough." She sighed. "There's coffee for the ones that need it. If they want it, they'll ask for it." I nod, placing my laptop on my desk in the corner, Jessica was going to be here for this meeting. Apparently since the CEO was making an appearance too, she had to be there to take the overall minutes of the meeting.

We sat down next to each other, talking quietly as we waited for the board to come in.

Jessica had proclaimed me her workplace friend since my first day here, which I greatly appreciated, because even if everyone here was polite, it seemed like everyone here had their own clicks and little squads whom they hung around work with, they made it clear that they didn't have space for anyone new.

Ten minutes later, the door slid open and Richmond along with four older men followed behind him. Those must be men from the board. We stood and Richmond greeted us, introducing us to the four men who took their seats. Richmond sat to the left of the head of the table, where I'd placed his documents. He leapt through them as he made small talk with the men.

I leaned over to whisper to Jessica. "When do you think the CEO will get here?"

She shrugged, going through her own formats for the minutes on her laptop. "They're the ones greeting the mayor." I nodded, then frowned. "They?"

She looked up, a small smirk on her lips. "Yes doll, they. We have two CEOs. Didn't you know?" I didn't, Richmond hadn't exactly done anything to get me acquainted with anyone or anything around the company. Though, to be fair to him, we have been very busy with the deal and I could pass it off as him just having no time.

"No, Richmond hadn't really said anything." I grumbled. Jessica sighed, leaning in closer.

"Essentially, there's not much to it. We have two CEOs. The company was past down to them by their father and they've been running the company for a few years now." Is all she said, before leaning back and typing on her computer.

I was about to ask her what else she knew, when the door slid open again and I recognized the mayor immediately. He slid through the door and we'll all stand. Two people walked in behind him and I did a double take when I saw who.

It was the man I'd met in the hall on my first day, only … two of him. There were two of him, exact carbon copies of each other. I felt my mouth drop open, and Jessica elbowed me in the side.

"Stop drooling, or everyone will notice." She winked, stifling a smile. I rolled my eyes and wiped my mouth for good measure.

I'm guessing these were the two CEOs of the company. I inwardly groaned. Oh my god! I'd bumped into the CEO of the company like he was a traffic cone. What were the odds of me being fired if Richmond heard about it? A 100? A 150? Yeah definitely 250.

I was so fired if he heard about this.

~~~~
Two hours later, the meeting ended.
We didn't get the deal.
I felt bad that I was happy about that, but I also had a feeling Richmond would be at least a little excited about it too. Over the week he'd mumbled and groaned about how much he didn't like the deal. He didn't think it was practical—which it wasn't—but the board thought it was a great idea and had pushed Richmond into handling the deal proposal.
I sighed, as I saved my work on the laptop, Jessica had already left, but I couldn't leave until everyone was gone so I could pick up all the water bottles and file all the papers.
The mayor had left in a slight bad mood, after bashing every single member of board for thinking of such a disgustingly, stupid idea—his words not mine.
"Sam!" I was startled when I heard my name being called, I looked up and saw Richmond standing at the entrance, with the CEO's. I gulped as he motioned for me to go to him.
Groaning quietly, I got up, closing my laptop before making my way over to him.
"Yes?"
He gestured to the two men beside him, they glanced at me and the twin in the black suit grinned when he saw me. Ah, so he's the one I bumped into. The other twin wore a gray suit and he was frowning at me. I tried not to let it show how much he unnerved me. They were significantly younger than everyone on the board, younger than Richmond even. "These are the CEO's of the company. I apologize, I have not spared the time to get you acquainted with anyone." I fight off the snort, and nod. He gestures to me. "This is my new assistant, Sam Elliott." He gestures to the one that was still frowning at me. "This is Brandon Crawford–'' thenl to the twin I'd bumped into, he was still grinning at me. " —this is Bradley Crawford, also the one that wrote the review on the magazine website." He says. I blink in confusion. Mr. Bradley looks at Richmond weirdly.
"You mean—"
" —Yes, this is the man you got fired, because of your stupidly impulsive act." Richmond growled, rolling his eyes. Brandon looks at his twin confused. I'm just as confused, well maybe not confused, just … in a nutshell I guess?
Mr. Bradley looks at me, having the decency to look sheepish. "Well I—"
" —Why would you get someone fired from their job?" Brandon cuts him off, looking rightly pissed off. Bradley looks at his brother, and shrugs.
" —I wasn't thinking—"
" —That's right, you don't think!" He snapped, breathing sharply before he turned to me, looking awfully apologetic. "I am terribly sorry for my brother's actions. I hope you find it in you to forgive him." I honestly couldn't find it in me to be upset with him at all.
Richmond rolled his eyes. "It's fine, he has a better job now." He says and I side eye him, wanting to tell him off for speaking for me. Brandon nodded, still not looking satisfied, but he let it go.
I've started to notice the difference between them already. Brandon seemed like he was always frowning, in other words, he had a resting bitch face. His brown hair was styled in the same cut as Mr. Bradley, but it was a lighter shade of brown, I wonder which one of them was dyed.
I smiled at them. "It's fine really, Mr. Richmond is right, I have a better job anyway." That seems to appease Brandon and I see his lips tilt up a bit, but then he frowns again. Bradley looks accomplished, he grins devilishly at his brother.
"See? He's fine." He looks at me, his devilish smile still intact. "For the record, I am terribly sorry, if I'd known someone would lose their job for it—actually, if I'd known you specifically would've lost your job, I wouldn't have done it." He winked and I think my cheeks darkened further.
Richmond hummed. "Yes, that was lovely." He says deadly. "But we have other matters to attend to. Sam needs to meet more people. We'll see you some other time." The twins nod, sparing me a glance before they leave the room.
I shifted on my feet, glancing up at Richmond, who was now looking at his phone. "You know, you could've been nicer. They're your bosses."
"And I'm yours, yet you still don't filter your mouth when you talk to me." He said. "Besides, they're used to it." He looks at me. "Get your laptop, we've got work to do." He says, holding the door open. I sigh as I pick up my laptop and follow him to the office.
Working here was going to be interesting.
    "The board wants to have a meeting about the department directors." I looked up from my game of computer chess to gaze at Richmond. He was looking down at a file, his body reclined back in his seat and his ankle crossed on his right leg. "Elias. He says most of them are screwing the secretaries, and we need to fix it."I scrunched my nose. "Did he actually say that?""He implied it." He sighed, setting the file down and looking at me. His piercing blue eyes stoic as usual. "Thing is, if he brings up the matter with board, I'll be seen as incompetent, seeing as I'm the one who hired the bastards.""What do you want to do?""I need to get rid of the worst ones, before the meeting, so that I don't get fired." I frowned."Mr. Bradley and Mr. Brandon wouldn't let that happen." I assumed so, since they seemed awfully fond of Richmond. His brow rose. "They have no power against it, kid. If they get out voted, I go. No argument about it." He ran a hand through his shiny hair. "So, what do y
    "Mr. Delano, I'm glad you could take time out of your…many obligations to meet with me." Richmond smiled. Flat and mockingly. Delano glanced at me, an accusing glint to the look, I smiled. He glanced back at Richmond and smiled in what was supposed to be a charming grin, but looked more like a snake trying to open its mouth wide enough to fit its prey. "Mr. Richmond. I uh, gathered that this meeting may be about my team's last presentation." He scoffed dismissively. "I know it was... Horrible, to put it nicely, but I know you and I can both agree that my team was incompetent." Richmond made a non committal sound. Delano grinned again. "Lazy people, all of them under-skilled and in need of experience. Most lacked proper training."Richmond leaned back in his seat, twirling a pen with his fingers. "Interesting. Especially since…you were the one in charge of training our new interns this time around."He spoke thoughtfully. Delano went pale, and I fought a grin. Richmond sat forward and
    "I'm sorry." I blinked, shaking my head. "Could you repeat what you just said? I don't think I heard you right."Brandon and Bradley shared a look. "We'd like to go out with you." They both said, and I was beginning to understand why Richmond hated it when they spoke in unison. I let out a shaky breath, still not understanding anything they were saying. "You want me ... To date the both of you?"Bradley nodded. "Yes---no! No, no." He sighed. "We both like you, Sam, a lot. As juvenile as that sounds, but you can't date both of us at the same time. We're..." He glanced at his brother and his face contorted. "We're not those kinds of twins."Brandon nodded. "We'd like you to choose.""Choose?" I asked. They nodded. I spluttered. "I-I can't."Brandon looked confused. "Of course you can."I shook my head. "I… I don't even know you." I said stupidly. Bradley shook his head. "We're fully aware. We don't know you either." His brother nodded. "But we could go on dates? Separately, of cours
    I was running late. But it wasn't my fault. I missed my bus, because I woke up late, and I woke up late because I was retyping a contract that Richmond had declared was mediocre at best.I probably would've had enough time to retype it if he'd given it to me at work, but no, the bastard had to call me at ass fucking o'clock, and demand I retype the contract and have the documents to him by this morning. He'd called at ten pm, and I'd gotten done with retyping at two in the morning and then I had to run across the street at the twenty four hour internet cafe and print all the pages out. By the time my head hit the pillow, it was already four thirty am and I swear I'd set my alarm for Six in the morning but I'd missed it and woken up at seven thirty instead. I rushed up and down my tiny apartment and almost killed my cat, getting ready this morning. The bus that I normally took was long gone, and I had to get his majesty's coffee and look up the bus schedule. On top of it all, Richmon
You've let the noodles go cold." I looked down at the bowl. Ugh, she was right. I sighed and pushed the bowl away. Jessica blinked at me. "Was it Richmond? What did he say about this morning?" She pressed, Jessica's Brooklyn accent took some getting used to, especially when she switched it off at work. I frowned. "What are you—oh, he said he was sorry." Jessica's mouth gaped. "And that he'll have a driver pick me up from now on." I continued."Really?" I nodded. "What? Is he buying you a house next?""Jessica." I warned She shook her head.     Having a man waiting for you outside your building standing in front of a big, black, shiny car, shouldn't have been as intimidating as it was.It felt surreal, watching the car pull into the curb. The driver got out of the car and stood by the driver's side, pulling out his phone and tapping something, completely unaware that I was watching him.Like clockwork, a minute after he put his phone in his pocket, my phone pinged in my hand.DeMarcus was his name. My new personal driver was named DeMarcus. That felt weird to say and to think about. I'd never imagined myself to be in this type of situation. Once, I did imagine myself becoming a personal driver but not the other way around. I shook my head. DeMarcus' texted to inform me that he had arrived. I peered out this window again. From the looks of him, he didn't look like anything I would've expected.First of all, he was big. Huge actually, maybe a bit bigger than Richmond, he was bald, and...that was about all I could see from my
"We didn't ask you to join a threesome. We said we'd both like to date you. Separately." I shrugged. "Semantics."He laughed. "Okay." He sat down on the edge of my desk. Richmond had gone out for a smoke a while ago, and he'd said he wanted the paperwork done by the time he came back. Yet I looked up expectantly at Bradley.     Bradley couldn't stop staring at me, I didn't know whether to be flattered or self conscious about it. My hair has never been this short, or straight. I've always worn my hair in a bundle of long curls or just a bundle of shorter curls. Right now, my hair reached my ears. It was cut on the sides, and straightened, then parted in the middle to frame my forehead. I thought I looked weird, Conner said I looked hot and Jessica's mouth had dropped open.Bradley hadn't taken his eyes off my hair since he picked me up.     My head was pounding with the force of an unforgiving hangover. My hands wrung together in my lap as my heart pounded roughly in my chest. The bathroom was thick with the fog from my shower. I sat on the edge of the counter with my back to the mirror as the veins in my forehead throbbed with the severity of the headache. I'd slept with Clark Richmond. I'd slept with my boss. My fucking boss and it was the best sex I'd had in a long time. No, scratch that, it the was the best sex period. After the sex, we'd both been sated and a little too drunk to think of going back to our rooms. I wish I could've said I'd hightailed it out of his room as soon as I'd regained a semblance of consciousness, but that wasn't what happened at all. Sometime during the night, we'd both stirred from sleep.I'd found myself staring silently at a sleep dazed Clark, my groin swelling as the seconds tucked by. Then he was on top of me, gazing down at me with furrowed brows, as if just the site of me confused
    "Mr Richmond...""Clark. Call me Clark dammit." He scolded breathlessly, his eyes fixed on my own bruised lips. "Clark."He nodded. "Yeah." His voice sounded strange, unlike I'd ever heard from him. low and sultry, it made my body shiver and a certain part of me perk up. I flushed, his hand came up to cup my face, his rough thumb rubbing cheek. "I'm sorry." He whispered.I shook my head. "No, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-""Shh...I meant." He chuckled. "I'm sorry, but I want to kiss you again, and again, and..." His eyes bore into mine, sparkling with lust. "If you want me to stop just say the word."My breathing was laboured, his face so close to mine. My mind hazy from the alcohol, but my skin was flushed from something else. "Don't stop." "Are you sure?" I gazed up at him. He was anyone's wet dream come to life, of course I was sure. I nodded wordlessly. He gave a single nod and stood. He held out a hand to me and I took it without a second thought. He lead the way to his room an
    "Who was that guy?" I asked as soon as we got into our suite. Richmond dragged his feet over to the bar in the far right corner of the living space. He took a crystal jug of amber liquid and opened it, forgoing the cup and just taking a large gulp out of it. I cringed, setting down the bag of leftovers on the coffee table. I moved to stand next to him at the bar. "You shouldn't be drinking like that." I told him but made no move to reach out and grab the jug. I wasnt that stupid, the man was twice my size and could easily grab and twist my arm. I wouldn't put it passed him either, seeing his mood. He took another large sip, his eyes closing at the burn of the alcohol on his tongue and throat. "You probably enjoy seeing me like this, don't you?"I frowned. "Like what?" "This." He gestured to himself. He had taken his jacket and tie off, and rolled the sleeves of his white dress shirt up. He looked hot, but I knew he wouldn't want to hear that.     We arrived at the dinner party a little bit before the dinner was served. Richmond had said it was better to be a little late to things like this, so as to get straight to business and skip the chatter, but I honestly thought he just wanted to make a scene.The dinner party was being held in the garden of one of the largest estates I'd ever seen. The main house alone was big enough to be considered a castle, It probably was honestly. The garden was decorated with fairy lights and floating lamps, with two long tables decorated for the guests. It was all so formal, with women in long ball gowns and expensive jewelry, and the men in three piece suits and cigars hanging from their lips. I felt a bit under dressed in my loose black pants and white polka dotted blouse, but Richmond had assured me I was fine, he on the other hand was dressed to kill, in his expensive three piece ,dark green suit with faint rose details along the jacket. He'd taken a cigar off a tray someone was passing ar
    The next few days felt like a flash montage, the days coming and going so fast, we barely had time to stop and eat. With what little time we had to rest, Richmond used that time to call the company back home and check in with how their end of the preparations were going. I wasn't even sure the man slept most of the time. Of course I was just as busy, running around paris, making arrangements, scheduling meetings, attending those same meetings and most of all making sure Richmond didn't fall flat on his ass from exhaustion.As busy and tiring our days seemed to be, I atleast made time to have a small meal here and there and take showers and rest but, I was concerned, Richmond didn't have that luxury, or more so that he wasn't giving himself the luxury to do so. On the fifth day of our stay in Paris was when I put my foot down. We had a dinner party to attend that night at the estate of one of our clients and Richmond was gittery about it but that was normal, what wasn't normal, was h
    It seemed that traveling brought the worst out of Richmond. His hair was a mess from the number of times he'd run his hands through it and I'd lost count of the number of cigarettes he'd smoked in the last hour. Our flight was delayed and we had to wait two hours before we could leave. Brandon had done his best to try an calm his uncle but Richmond didn't want to hear it. He was on multiple phone calls at a time, going back and forth between talking with the staff in Paris and calling in with the airport staff to ask for a new pilot. This was a new side of Richmond id never seen, stressed and utterly confused. I couldn't decide whether to feel sorry for him or revel in his current state. Brandon sighed, getting off a phone call with the hotel manager in Paris. "I've never been more than happy to be just a lowly assistant than i have been right now. " I joked.     "The seating plan arrangement for the banquet is not right." Richmond said, his brows furrowed crossly. "We'll have to redo the entire thing by Wednesday." I set the papers I was stapling down. Stature would appreciate a place like this but Richmond looked like he'd rather be hit over the head with a large stone and buried alive than be there. I couldn't identify if his disdain for the place was because he lacked a sense of art or because he couldn't stand being around people for long periods of time.He was as stiff as a board, making a face at a painting, his blue eyes squinting at the splashes of colors that strangely resembled his eyes.
