When they got to Shoprite(Dillon had coupons and didn't like Wal*Mart's produce and meat selection), Tony's road-rage was stoked with the congestion in the parking lot. Anxiety levels at max after some blind bitch almost backed into them, Tony shouted obscenities at the stream of cars that clogged up the front of the lot by the entrance. All he wanted to do was get down one of the rows so he could park as far from everyone as he could. He always

As he turned on his hazard lights and parked in front of the store, Tony took his phone from the cupholder and called Dillon to come outside. He popped the lever to open the trunk and a few moments later, Dillon came out with the cart. Together, they loaded up the Bronco and returned the cart in easily under a minute. Their teamwork was good, though they were largely spurred forward by the anticipation of what was to come. The sexual tension was so thick, Tony could have cut it with a knife. While they got in and settled, Tony blasted the AC to keep the groceries and themselves comfortably cool. Once Dillon was buckled in, he turned his hazard lights off and pulled away. To the back of the lot he went, but he had something he had to get off his chest as he moved.

The smooth stones felt great on the pads of his feet as Dillon waded out of the water towards his backpack. They didn't bother to pack more than one towel since it was so hot, but Dillon was glad they decided to pack it at all so he could dry his hands and check his phone. It was almost five in the afternoon so they had made good time. There was only about another mile to the end of the trail, and it didn't start to get dark until close to eight. They had decided that Tony and he would go their separate ways together and cross over to the second trail across the creek, and Kat and Co. would turn around and follow the main trail back.

The sun had started to set as Tony and Dillon continued their trek. They weren't far from the trail they'd turn onto to get to the secret place. On the way, Dillon had kept his eyes peeled for pin-straight saplings to make into arrows. Every now and then, he'd stop, take the clippers he had in his backpack on Tony's back, and cut a particularly fine sapling. When he was satisfied with the approximate length, he'd put the sticks in the side pouch of his backpack. As they walked on, Dillon regaled Tony with different stories from his childhood. It was appropriate, since that day ha

It was a short but somewhat strenuous climb to the rock pool above the waterfall. When they finally reached the top, they were both out of breath. Tony took off the backpack and set it on a boulder on the side of the pool as he gazed around in wonder. Dillon could imagine it would be a sight to boggle the mind. The sun had set to the point that it dyed the skies all sorts of golds, oranges, and pinks, and it cast a magical light on the surface of the water. The light that ricocheted off of the waterfall danced on the leaves of the trees and on the large rocks and tree trunks around them. Solar light wasn't the only source of light in the rock pool either. All around them, fireflies whizzed and hovered about, as they flashed their fluorescent green lanterns sporadically.
