Chapter 4

Over in Rosalie's car, Sebastian had just found out who she was. She was a part of the Griffins of Janover.

Sebastian's brows creased slightly. If not mistaken, the Griffins were the juggernauts of Janover. Every move they made could rock the entire city.

If Whitney had been in the car as well, her jaw would have dropped in shock.

The Griffins of Janover, the family she desperately wanted to form an association with, were seeking help from Sebastian, the useless man she'd just divorced.

Soon, the car stopped outside a residential compound.

Once they got out of the car, Rosalie hastily brought Sebastian into one of the bedrooms.

A sickly old man lay on the bed. All the color had drained from his face. Even his lips were purplish. Every breath he took seemed to drag on forever. It was as if he were a dying candle flickering in the wind.

A middle-aged man and a doctor stood beside the bed. Dressed in linen, the doctor was inserting acupuncture needles into Rosalie's grandfather, Oliver Griffin.

Sebastian approached the bed, and when he saw what the doctor was doing, he frowned and said, "You're putting the needles in the wrong acupuncture points. If you continue what you're doing, I'm afraid Mr. Griffin Senior won't live past tonight."

Everyone in the room was stunned. They turned around and looked at Sebastian and Rosalie.

The doctor furrowed his brows and snapped, "Who are you, you ignorant young man? Are you doubting my medical skills? Do you know who I am?"

He was greatly displeased.

He had been practicing medicine for over three decades now, and no one ever dared to say he'd made a mistake with his acupuncture points.

The young man before him looked to be about 26 or 27, but the former had the nerve to speak recklessly and cast doubt on his acupuncture technique!

How dare he run his mouth like that?

Acupuncture was considered one of the hardest fields of medicine to master. No one could become an expert unless they had a decade of training. If a person wanted to be accomplished in the field, they needed at least two decades of training and experience.

The middle-aged man beside the doctor had a strong jaw, bold features, and a stern gaze. He glared at Sebastian and fumed, "Who are you? Who allowed you to come inside? Get out!"

"Dad, he's the genius doctor I brought back. Mr. Sinclair recommended him. He has something called a Goldcrow pill which can treat all kinds of illnesses," Rosalie swiftly explained.

The middle-aged man's expression darkened with suspicion. "What did you say? He has the Goldcrow pill?"

He was Levi Griffin, the current head of the Griffin family and Rosalie's father.

Before Levi could ask further, the doctor snorted, "The Goldcrow pill? I've never heard of that before. Are you sure you didn't get conned, Ms. Griffin? If there's a medicine that can cure all illnesses, why would we need doctors?"

His words were dripping with scorn.

Levi frowned.

Rosalie quickly cried out, "Dad, it's true. Mr. Sinclair told me about it …"

Worried that Sebastian's presence would affect the doctor, Jonah Pike, Levi roared, "That's enough! Get him out of there! We have Dr. Pike here. He's all we need!"

Jonah was known as Steinberg's genius doctor!

It had not been easy for the Griffins to invite Jonah over to treat Oliver. Levi was not going to let a young man ruin things for them.

Rosalie wanted to try and reason with Levi, but the look in his eyes made her freeze.

"Get out," he ordered.

Upon seeing that, Sebastian huffed in displeasure, "Since you don't believe it, Mr. Griffin, let's forget about it. Still, out of courtesy, I'll give you a warning.

"If he continues to administer the same acupuncture treatment, in less than five minutes, Mr. Griffin Senior will be coughing up blood and taking his last breaths. When that happens, don't come begging for my help!"

Sebastian turned to leave.

Infuriated, Levi hollered, "Beg you? You think too highly of yourself, you punk! Since you're so sure of yourself, care to make a bet?"

"What bet?" Sebastian turned back around and asked.

Levi sneered, "We'll bet on what you just claimed will happen. If we end up begging you for help, I'll not only get on my knees, but I'll even let my beautiful daughter marry you! But, if my father recovers, you're going to have to break all four of your limbs today, punk!"

Sebastian smirked. Glancing at the blushing Rosalie, he replied, "Deal! I'll wait for you to get on your knees to beg me and give me your daughter's hand in marriage!"

Once he finished speaking, he walked out of the bedroom.
