Miles POV

“Where?!” Ivar demanded the guards the moment he took control.

“Southeast border, by the highway,” Oscar, one of my head guards replied. “The guest that beat the luna detected him. He’s on the hunt now.”

“Who was shot?” I asked, my heart racing thinking the worst.

There was a long pause before another guard answered, “No one, sir. Um, your mate pushed Lewis out of the way.”

My stomach dropped. “Was she….?”

“She’s not hit. She sped off with her friend. We’re trying to keep up with them now.” After a brief silence, he added, “Luna is fast.”

She may be fucking fast, but she shouldn’t be taking off running towards danger. Ivar was snarling, his angry growls tearing through the early morning air. He knew where to go. He was being pulled in the direction that Oscar said, even before he got the confirmation that it was where they would be.
