This will be a series, and the next book will be about Lenny for anyone interested.
She’s pissed. Damn it, I should have held my frustration in. She looked ready to punch one or all of us right now, and I still had this sick feeling in my gut from her words. As she started to head back towards the packhouse, her body vibrating like she was getting ready to shift, I called out, “Take a couple of guards back with you to be safe.” “I can keep myself safe,” she snapped. “I don’t want to inconvenience anyone else.” “Chloe, it’s non-negotiable,” I said firmly. “Whatever you say, Alpha,” she muttered, then shifted back to her wolf. Her wolf looked back at me, her beautiful brown eyes tense as steam rolled out of her glossy black nose. She huffed, then took off towards home. Oscar and Pete, two of my warrior guards, took off after her, knowing to keep her safe with just a look from me. “Damn it,” I mumbled under my breath. I could have handled that better. Lenny sighed, running his hands over his head over and over again, staring after my angry little mate. “I can’t bel
Mick POV Startling growling echoed in my head, but that was soon overlooked by the information I had just heard from my brother after getting to the scene of the confrontation. “She was shot?!” I shouted. I knew I felt something, but she acted like all was fine. Well, not really fine, but she sure as hell didn’t act like she had just been shot. She said she was just scratched. “Yeah,” Miles grumbled, looking pissed off while staring at the dead shooter on the ground. “It was just a flesh wound,” Jamie rolled his eyes. “We all saw it happen. It just grazed her. She's not that soft.” Miles let out a menacing growl and I glared at Jamie. Jamie is usually insensitive. This is nothing new, but it still pisses me off. “What would Rodger say?” Lenny hit Jamie in the back of the head. “Ow! Stop it you lunky double o seven,” Jamie whined. “Rodger isn’t here.” “Oh, yes I am,” Rodger suddenly walked through the trees to the clearing. He was wearing his rough sack pants
Chloe POV “What are you two doing here?” I asked, walking into Mick’s childhood bedroom we had been sharing. Riley and Winnie were sprawled out on the floor, Winnie with a tablet and Riley with a manga book. “Hiding,” they said at the same time, not even looking up. I was butt ass naked after shifting back, but neither would give a rat’s ass about that. I walked past them to the bathroom, glad they didn’t care because the wound on my shoulder looks nasty right now. It’s closed, but it’s bruised pretty back. The coloring turned greenish black in the time it took to go from where it happened to here. “What are you hiding from,” I asked as I started to clean around my nasty bruise with a face towel, gingerly wiping the dried blood away. “Nonna,” they said at the same time. “She is trying to get us to help with breakfast,” Winnie added. I scoffed, “Why won’t you?” “Because she touches my cheeks too much,” Winnie grumbled. “And the stupid dogs in this place all want to
“Work it, girl! Work it!” Cindy smirked, snapping his fingers in the air.“You look hot. Especially with that nasty bruise all gone. Hot, hot, hot,” Riley said with a mischievous grin. He then turned to stare up at Dave. “Doesn’t she look hot?”Dave barely gave me a glance from his phone, then just shrugged. He splayed one of his large hands on Riley’s stomach then tugged him closer. “I’ve seen hotter.”Riley looked totally satisfied while everyone else laughed.I looked down at myself and grimaced. I hate wearing dresses. Loose sundresses or the occasional dress for a night out is fine, but this dress was too formal for my taste. Winnie must have noticed, because he shook his head, then shooed me back to the dressing room.“Not for you. I thought we could have a pretty woman moment, but we’re working with the wrong Julia Roberts movie. It’s like I’m putting Erin Brockovich in Chanel. I think Gucci is much more your style.”“There was that Coach-”“COACH IS NOT FASHION!” Winnie almost
“Like what you see?” Cindy smirked, looking at the two men that were obviously standing behind me. He was holding my head still, so I couldn’t turn around.“W-what are you doing?” I heard Miles ask.“Is this what you needed my card for?” Mick addressed the question to Winnie.“I got me ice cream too,” Winnie turned his nose up. “And maybe some cleanser.”“You deserve it,” Mick said. “She looks amazing.”“In that case, I might have gotten a bathrobe and sheet masks too. And an aloe treatment. My hair is dry,” Winnie confessed.“Damn,” Miles murmured. “Wow.”“Looks like a proper Luna now, huh?” Riley said teasingly. I rolled my eyes.“She looks like the most beautiful woman in the world,” Miles answered.“Without a doubt,” Mick said.Cindy was touching up my lip liner and smirked at me. “We won’t be needing any blush, I see.”I wrinkled my nose at Cindy, then stuck out my tongue when he was done. He did the same right back. I was a little nervous that he was done. I have no excuse not t
Mick POVWhen Miles and Chloe walked back into the room minutes later, Chloe had a shy look on her face and my brother seemed more relaxed than he had been all day. I felt more relaxed with Chloe’s emotions exuding less hostility than before.“Hey cara mia,” I crooned, opening my arms as Chloe walked towards me. She smiled at my Italian nickname for her in that sultry way that always gets me going. I kissed her head, and then her nose. “Did you have a good talk?”She looked back shyly at my brother, and he gave her a reassuring smile. “Yes,” she said softly.“Good,” I leaned in and whispered in her ear. “Because we need to have a talk too later. About a gunshot.”Her eyes narrowed. “It was just a scratch.”“Bull snarky,” Winnie scoffed. “We had to bathe you thoroughly because of your scratch.”“What?” my brother huffed menacingly. His eyes darted to Winnie, assessing him, and then at the other men around the room. All of them were very gay, except maybe Cindy, who calls himself aroma
“IT… IT WAS HIM!” James said. “THE-THE OTHER GUY! THE….. THE PORN KING.”Dez and I exchanged a look. “Mick?” I asked. “Mick would never give his woman’s information out.”“No,” James shook his head fervently. “Not….not him himself. The….the agency…he,” James choked, then started coughing up blood. One of his lungs might be ruptured. We may not have long to get this information. “He…. he worked for-for an agency. They….. They had his previous address. Mister,” he coughed again, more bubbling red spilling from his lips. “Mister…. Mister Smith. He had a…. a hunch she was with him. We took a shot in the dark.”“Did Billy find a listing of this address for Mick’s documentation at his filming agencies?” I asked Dez.“No,” Dez crossed his arms, staring daggers at James. The pliers were still clenched in his fist. “I don’t believe you. We checked their servers.”“IT WASN’T ON THE SERVERS!” James yelled, spewing blood everywhere. “It was his….his first gig. The forms were just paper forms.”“Y
Mick POV“How do you take two men at the same time?”My ears perked up when I overheard the hushed conversation between Chloe and her human friend.“I like this friend,” the parasite named Rome murmured.Chloe’s face turned a beautiful rosy shade, then she looked over at me and my brother before quickly looking back at the girl and giggling. The girl probably wasn’t aware that every other person in this room had supernatural hearing, and even though they were whispering to one another, we could all pick up every detail of the conversation. Riley and Winnie perked right up too, Riley with a grin on his face and Winnie looking ready to bolt. Two women talking about sex probably made him uncomfortable.“W-why would you ask me? Couldn’t, well, your mates explain that?” Chloe said softly. The girl made a face. “They said not to worry about it. They said they could,” she looked around the room again, and I hurried to look away, making it seem like I wasn’t eavesdropping. “They said they co
This is now complete! Thanks for sticking around through it all. Lenny and Jamie will be getting their own book in the near future. If you felt unsatisfied with the way Jamie left, I did it for a reason! I’m excited to start his story soon. I have many other books, and the two others I have available on here are LOSING MY SIREN LUNA and BUILD YOU UP. If you enjoyed this, check those out. Thanks for reading!
Six years later….“Mama!” Emanuele came running up the hill with a small purple flame in his hands. “Look what Pop-pop taught me!”“Very pretty,” I grinned, tucking Sage’s hands under my arm so she wouldn’t reach out to touch her brother’s flame.“Me! Me!” Emilio came running with a sphere of water in his violet-glowing hands. “Pop-pop said mine was better!”“Did not!”Emanuele threw his little ball of fire at his brother, and Emilio deflected it with his water. The water burst from the impact, soaking Emilio’s shirt. He let out the cutest little growl before pouncing on Emanuele.“No fight!” my two-year-old daughter yelled, then turned her face up to me. “Mama, no fight!”“I know, baby,” I smiled, smoothing back one of her thick curls. “You two heard her. Stop fighting.”“He started it!” both boys yelled at the same time.“What’s going on here? Two seconds ago, you were both all smiles.”My dad came up the hill from the pond with a big basket of different herbs and magical instrument
“Look at them,” Gail gushed, running her finger down Emilio’s cheek. “They’re perfect.”Labor was fast, or at least that was what I was told. It felt like fucking forever to me.When my baby boys were placed on my chest, all the bad just faded away. All I felt was pride and unending love for the two little lives me and my mates created.“Emanuele is hungry,” Miles brought our other son over to me.Gail lifted Emilio from my chest before Miles placed Emanuele in my arms.“I have a question,” Jamie raised his hand. “How do you feed them with your tits pierced?”Dad backhanded him across the chest at the same time that Mick and Miles snarled at him.“I know, I know,” Jamie raised his hands. “Get out. I know.” He headed for the door.Dario was glaring after him too. Jamie was really pushing it today with all the Alpha men.“Poor Jamie,” I smirked, putting a blanket over my shoulder, so I could feed my hungry baby. “He needs my other babysitter to help keep him in line.”“I miss your other
Four Months Later….“Try this, nipote,” Nonna gingerly set a plate filled with pasta in front of me.I eyed it skeptically, second-guessing my craving for peanut butter and jelly spaghetti. Mushing a glob of jelly between the prongs of my fork, I gagged instantly.Running to the bathroom with my hand over my mouth, I heard Jamie mutter under his breath, “Not again.”“Poor bambino. The little ones don’t want this either, it seems.”This fucking sucks. Two days of only eating peanut butter and jelly with everything, and now these little parasites are taking that from me too. After emptying the contents of my stomach, I glared down at my belly while wiping my mouth on the back of my hand.“You two have outstayed your welcome.”I sat on the cold tile floor, shooting daggers at my monstrous-sized gut with thoughts of eviction in my mind when deep chuckling from the doorway sent my anger flaring again.“What are you doing, Cara Mia?”“None of your business,” I snapped.Mick laughed, then gr
Rodger POV“Deal with it, but that mother fucker’s life here ends.”Alpha Miles was firm on one thing. Cindy had to go. After what happened with my daughter, I needed to take responsibility for this one thing more than all my other mistakes I had made throughout her life.Cindy betrayed us all because of me. Because of some warped sense of possessiveness he had over me. I was the cause, the reason for his betrayal. I needed to be the one that dealt with this.No matter how much it would hurt me.Cindy was tied to the floor with a coarse fiber rope. Usually a rope wouldn’t be enough to hold one of them down, but Cindy had been given wolfsbane to cut him off from his wolf. He didn’t even fight the dose. He sat with his head down, looking completely defeated once I woke up in that clearing. He was never much of a fighter, even with his wolf, and never aggressive. Never had I seen any side of him showing any hint of malice. I still can not believe that the broken young man that showed up
Chloe POVThe pressure. The endless amounts of pressure pushing in from all around me, like something was about to explode. Like I was about to explode. That was the first thing that I noticed as I was drifting in the abyss. Then it hit me. The scents of spicy musk, bourbon and vanilla.“You’re going to crush her, you giant mutt,” an aged, nagging voice reached my ears.Driana.“They’ve gotten a lot clingier since they found out,” Jamie laughed.Even with my eyes closed as I came into consciousness, I could feel the energy in the room. There were many people here, but the suffocating feeling pressing in on me was undeniable. The fur tickling my face and the heavy, deep breaths I would recognize anywhere.“Are they ever going to shift back?” Driana said in exasperation. “She’s buried alive in fur. And those overgrown pups won’t let anyone get close.”“Their father was the same way when I was with child,” Luna Gail said in a far more upbeat tone. “Remember honey? Your wolf would come ou
Mick POV“He’s getting away!” I bellowed inside Rome.“Not this time,” Rome tossed a Fire Moon warrior off our back, then bolted for the retreating monster our mate’s ex had become.Rome was hurting, seeing the nightmare his former counterpart had become. I could feel the turmoil tearing him up, the compassion he felt for the bastard. I understood it. His love for our mate overshadowed everything, but there was a time that Rome loved his first human. His first human wasn’t even human anymore. The Cameron he once held such high hopes for was replaced by the creature we were hunting now.Miles started to follow, but Rodger, still clinging to my back, yelled at him to stop.“Tell your brother to keep searching for my daughter!” Rodger yelled into Rome’s ear.“Keep looking for Chloe. I can handle her ex.”Miles’s bloodthirsty wolf snarled, but turned to do as we said. “You better fucking put him down. This ends today.”“This ends today.” Rome chased the monster of his former human, not w
Chloe POVCortina and the vision around us swirled into a dizzying blur, and then disappeared as the tacky bedroom reappeared. Cortina groaned as her consciousness joined with mine again.Time was still stopped, Mr. Smith, or Asmodeus, whatever the fuck his name was, was kneeling in front of me, just like he was before Cortina broke free.I blinked, shaking my head slightly to clear the fog from the magic-induced dream-like state. As my powers settled inside of me, the world turned on its axis again and time resumed.“Breed with me, my goddess, and fulfill my destiny.”“What?” I leaned back, confused and disgusted by Mr. Smith’s request. Then I remembered the bullshit he was spewing before Cortina showed me the truth.“You saw it yourself,” Mr. Smith continued on, unaware of all I knew. “You saw how we were meant to be.”He leaned closer, brushing his fingers over my nape, dark eyes tightening at my mate marks. Cortina snarled loudly in my head at his close proximity. My skin felt col
Cindy POVI needed to get out of here. I’ve tried to stay out of sight since leaving that room, so I could think about what to do next, but time was getting more urgent. The scent masker was beginning to fade. This was the last place I wanted to be when the rogue stench started to pour out of me. Most of this pack already looked at me like I was a bug, but I was a useful bug before. Now, I was worthless. That snake bastard made it abundantly clear. My wolf was snarling, already feeling lost and alone. We were rogue before at Broom StiXXX, but not like this. There, we had a community. A family. Now I have nothing.I wanted to blame Chloe. Goddess knows I do, but I know I have no one to blame but myself right now. Why did I think I could trust these people? I can’t trust anyone. Not anymore. With a twisting gut, I covertly moved through the halls, trying to avoid the crowded room of the bunker as I moved towards the entrance. I was almost there when a deep, raspy voice startled at me fr
