James

“Alpha, what does the message say?” Lewis asked after I had calmed down from my fit of rage.

“It was a warning, strengthen up security at the pack borders and monitor those entering and leaving the pack,” I instructed in a low voice. Trying hard to mask my emotions.

I couldn’t say what the message said as it involved Zoe and until I found out how the rogues knew she was in my pack, I would be trusting no one.

My anger flared up again when I remembered what was written in the letter.

HAND HER OVER AND EVERYONE ELSE REMAINS SAFE. YOU WOULDN’T WANT YOUR FATHER TO DIE LIKE YOUR MOTHER WOULD YOU?

RK.

The rogue king was after Zoe but why? Was he in love with her? The very thought sent Tyler over the edge and he growled, ‘Mine! We have to protect our mate.’

I agreed with him on this one.. I didn’t want her and I hated her for no reason but I wouldn’t let anything happen to her. Neither would I allow her to be claimed by

Lewis for being Tricia's brother why can't he convince her she has no future with Alpha James cause he's not interested in her or any other she-wolf . Cause all they want is the Luna position. Zoe must have a white wolf. White wolves are usually descendants of the Moon Goddess and have special power

Alpha James put Tricia in his place and tell her she will never be Luna. All you did was give her reason that she has to keep a secret. Dumbass. Love the chemistry between James and Zoe. What’s with Zoe’s wolf!?! Great book!!

Zoe The day had passed by in a blur. I spent most of my time on my laptop and only went downstairs when Lisa announced that dinner was ready. Not wanting to sleep on an empty stomach again, I rushed down but still sat by the dining table alone. Lisa said James had eaten already but I felt like he was avoiding me. Which didn’t make sense, given how he didn’t have a problem grazing his teeth on my marking spot earlier. I sighed as I now lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling while sleep evaded me. Replaying the scene when James trapped me in his arms, heat rushed through to my core. Making my panties wet. I frowned…those were freshly clean and now I had to change again. But that was the least of my concern right now. I could still feel his warm breath on my neck when it brushed on my skin. The epic tingling sensations sent ripples of lightening bolts through me and if I didn’t get up, I would have begged him to fuck me right there and th

  • The Alpha's rejection   12~ Officially doomed

James I stayed hidden in a thick brush in the woods near the training grounds. Watching as Lewis brought Zoe and introduced her to the head warriors. She looked so sexy in her sports bra and those yoga pants fitted her well. Accentuating her figure perfectly. The way her ass was poking out made my mouth water. I wanted her. Fuck. I needed to taste her. Perhaps this strange desire would go away after having one taste. I frowned when I saw Anna swaying her hips going over to them. What was the pack whore up to now? A few minutes later, a crowd started forming around them but I wasn’t going to show myself.. According to the message I sent through Lewis, I must be out for an emergency meeting, not hiding in a brush like a coward as I spied on her. Things seemed to get heated as the wolves made a large circle with Zoe and Anna at the center. This wasn’t good… can my spitfire fight? In my experience, people who usually talked a lot h

  • The Alpha's rejection   13~ Complicated

Zoe I had never met someone so infuriating. James’s hot and cold attitude was annoying the living crap out of me. He was giving me mixed signals. Things would change from him being playful and teasing to him being rude and grumpy. I almost thought he had a split personality syndrome…. Making a mental note to steer clear of him, I toured the mansion at his suggestion and I was in awe. The whole mansion had a theme of white and aqua blue… the walls and floors were white then stuff like décor, curtains were aqua blue. There were several bedrooms and the third floor looked like an entertainment area for James. There was a game room, a theatre with an L-shaped comfortable couch, a big screen and dim lighting, a gym and a pool room. Yeah.. he actually built a pool inside the mansion.. though it was connected to a huge balcony that had sun loungers and a small table. The first floor had a kitchen, a storage room,

Zoe “I will have a margarita cocktail and some snacks,” I said to the waiter who was getting our orders. We were sitting in a VIP lounge. There was a huge round table in the middle with sofas around it. I was surprised that James had agreed to come. With how he was hell-bent on avoiding me, I thought he wouldn’t want to be within 1m radius of me. He looked hot with an all black out fit. Black jeans, with a black dress shirt that he had rolled up his muscular arms. I hadn’t seen him naked yet, but his chest must be breathtaking right? I gasped when I felt a pinch on my waist and I glared at the culprit. “You fell into a daze while staring at the sexy Alpha over there, I swear I saw you drool while eye-fucking him,” Tiffany whispered in my ears and I cringed. I stole a glance at him and got startled when his eyes locked with mine. Oh my, why is he looking at me like that? My heart pounded heavily against my chest, I almos

Zoe I woke up feeling groggy. My throat felt parched and I reached out to grab the glass of water on the side table. Taking a sip, I put the glass back then it hit me… where did the water come from? I jerked up my upper body into a sitting position and the white comforter fell off my chest it was strange but it had James’s scent on it. I picked it up and sniffed. Mmmmmmmm…...his scent was strong, more like he had slept here. Looking up I was taken aback by the dual fireplace opposite the bed. The other side seemed to have a sitting area with white couches. A styled rug was placed near the bed and the rest of the floor was tiled. This wasn’t my room. I gasped and cupped my mouth with the palm of my hand. Did I leave with a random dude last night? We ended up in his room and had a night of passion? A big portrait on the wall next to what I assumed was the bathroom caught my attention. James, looking like a Greek god was featuring

James A few days had passed and I tried my best to avoid Zoe. I even let the creep, Thomas follow her around since her father trusted him. It was cowardly of me to run away like this but taking her as a mate wasn’t an option. What if she was just using me to forget that Duncan guy? The name itself, left a bitter taste in my mouth. I slouched in my office chair suddenly feeling tired. A game or a swim would help me unwind and relieve the stress. Deciding to go for a late night swim. I got up after switching off and closing my laptop. Walking towards the door, I opened it and stepped outside. Quickly climbing the stairs heading to the third floor. Once there, I went straight to the pool room on the far end of the hallway. Opening the door, I entered the pool room but before I could go in further. I heard the sound of water splashing. Someone’s here. I went on high alert masking my aura as I moved forward b

Zoe I didn't get the chance to meet James so that I could accept his rejection. He was doing a great job avoiding me. I Heard from Lewis who I met when he was leaving James's office with some documents that he was working from the office at the pack house. Deciding to stop looking for the lost alpha, I recruited Tiffany into spending time with me at the indoor swimming pool. She was my guest so as a VIP guest I could invite my guest over right? Yeah, well, I would do what I want anyway.... We were sitting on the loungers on the balcony, clad in matching yellow sundresses, chatting away. "So can you tell me what's really going on between you and Alpha James?'' Tiffany asked with a raised brow as she stirred her mango juice with a straw. "C'mon, I always share stuff with you... it's not fair that you're holding out on me," she complained when I just shrugged. "There's nothing to share... I would tell you if there was something

James I was very determined to avoid Zoe after I found myself having 5 cold showers the night I met her in the indoor pool room. She was messing with my senses, I saw myself giving in to her slowly and if I wasn't careful, I would admit defeat soon. Not that it mattered anyway, I had been losing to her since the day I met her and discovered that she was my mate. But she had the Duncan guy in her heart. It hurt to know she was yearning for another man. Perhaps the love was too strong for her to still think and dream about him even with the mate bond between us. To protect myself, here I was in my office at the pack house just to avoid bumping into her accidentally back at the mansion. Tyler had been ignoring me lately. He was pissed that I was pushing away our mate. But what did he know? Just finding a new mate, he forgets all the pain we've been through due to those rejections and he's already wrapped around Zoe's finger. Indeed, he was an animal. 'I don't think there's anyth

  • The Alpha's rejection   89~ Epilogue

THREE YEARS LATER Lewis It was funny how time flies. One minute you’re a child and the next, you’re an adult who’s responsible for yourself and other people. In my case, I was a mate, a beta and a brother and a soon-to-be father. That’s right, Ariana and I had our wedding 4 months ago and now she was carrying our pup. A boy. She was the most beautiful bride I had ever seen and on that day, when she said I do, it was one of the best days of my life that I’ll cherish forever. The last three years have been nothing but blissful. Life was great. We would have problems here and there but nothing that was not solvable. After all, this is real life and not everything can be perfect. Alpha James and Zoe left on a honeymoon tour a month ago and left their pups in our care. They were living with us at our mini-mansion that I built for Ariana and I and boy, they were a handful. We had a nanny for all four of them. Matteo, Alpha James’ baby brother thought he was his brother’s son

  • The Alpha's rejection   88~ Proposal

Ariana I’ve been living in the blackmist pack for three months now and I can attest that it’s much better than the human town. I liked it here. At first, when I learnt that werewolves exist I thought they would be primitive and living like cavemen but they surprised me by being more modern than ordinary humans. The pack was designed like a small town. It had shopping malls, residential homes and a large packhouse where the majority of the wolves stayed. Mostly unmated ones stayed there. Despite the modern setup, the flora and fauna were not tampered with. We were still surrounded by a big forest. On full moon nights, we would go for pack runs which were led by the Alpha and Luna. And then most times, I would go on a love run with Lewis, my mate who had been nothing but lovely ever since I settled here. The only thing I missed from the human town was my aunt Judy. “Can you get me another dress? Where’s the red one I chose earlier? I look good in red.” Zoe asked one of the o

Lewis I ditched the car and ran to the orphanage since it would be faster that way. The Alpha had already begun running back to the pack after I called him to tell him his Luna had gone into labor. Taking off my clothes, I shifted and carried them in my mouth then I began to run as fast as I could. From the way Ariana kept poking into my mind every second, I knew she was freaking out. ‘Dr. Anthony prepare the Luna’s VIP ward she’s in labor.’ I mind-linked the doctor at the pack’s hospital. ‘What? That’s too soon. I’ll work on it right away.’ I continued to rush forward with Wesley in the lead. Being a beta wolf, he wanted to protect his Alpha’s pups. ‘Lewis! Hurry! I can see a head… oh my God! I don’t know what to do!’ Ariana’s shriek echoed in my head. ‘Calm down baby… You will scare Zoe. Take a few deep breaths and guide her… tell her to push as hard as she can. If the baby stays like that it will suffocate.’ ‘But I’ve never done this before.’ She responded, sounding sc

Lewis I felt like I was in paradise. At the break of dawn, I opened my eyes and found Ariana sleeping peacefully in my arms with a smile on her face. We were happy. And I hoped it remained so for the rest of our lives. I stroked her curly hair and leaned down, placing a kiss on her forehead. Ariana stirred, scrunching her eyebrows then inched closer to me, burying her face deeper into my chest. Having her back made me whole once again. I wouldn’t have survived without her and to think she had watched me die and had to experience the agony of the bond breaking filled me with intense guilt. That was not something I wanted her to go through. Ever. She had even gone as far as stabbing her heart to perform a dangerous spell to save me. That was the extent of her love for me. I could see it. I could feel it. A love so pure and true. What more can I ask for? I loved her just as much as she loved me and with each passing day that we are together, our bond grows stronger. All

Ariana I stared into Lewis’ eyes to check if he was telling the truth. Not that I didn’t believe him. It’s just that with our current situation, even I could come up with any reason that could help us be able to be together. He had just told me about how my mother and his father were childhood friends and that day, he was actually going to save her due to her call for help but unfortunately, he arrived late. “I have proof, baby… I can’t lie to you. You know that.” Lewis said with a pained expression. I cupped his face with my palms and pecked his lips. “I believe you. Even if you made something up I would always believe you.” I said and I meant it. “But I didn’t make it up my love. My father has recordings that you can listen to. I have them on my phone.” He said and took out his phone before I could stop him. We were seated on a two-seater couch in the small sitting room in the cabin after two more rounds of banging each other. I listened to the recording and when I heard

Lewis “Alpha, I’m leaving. I’ll only come back when I find my mate.” Alpha James raised his brow. “Are you sure? You’re going on a wild goose chase man. She could be anywhere.” Anger surged within me and I growled. “Are you saying I should give up on my mate? No way man… she’s mine and I’ll find her.” “How? By running around aimlessly like a headless chicken? Do you even have a clue where she is? If she doesn’t want to be found, do you think you can find her that easily?” I curled my hand, clenching it into a fist. He was right. I couldn’t just go searching without having a clue about Ariana’s whereabouts but what other choice do I have? Wait for her to calm down and come back on her own? What if she never comes back? What then? Being without her would kill me and my wolf. “I have to find her.” I said in a low voice, sounding defeated. “Come on man. We are wolves. We work smart, not harder. What’s the fastest way of finding someone in our supernatural world without using

Ariana I steeled my heart and chanted the teleporting spell while avoiding making eye contact with Lewis. I just couldn’t bring myself to look into his eyes. If I did, I was afraid I would decide to stay with him. But that was out of the question. Not after what I had found out. I had to leave for my parent's sake. I wouldn’t be able to face them knowing I had stayed with the people who took their life. Lewis just stood there, staring at me. And from my peripheral vision, I could see he was crying. My chest constricted seeing him like that. It hurt more that I had to leave him this way. I was punishing him for his father’s mistakes. It didn’t take long for the spell to take effect. As I was slowly getting sucked in, I snuck a look at Lewis. I wanted to see his enchanting face for one last time. I wanted to have it embedded in my mind forever. But the look of despair on his face crushed my heart. Now I would be stuck with his sad expression for the rest of my life. I shouldn’

  • The Alpha's rejection   82~ An explanation

Lewis I don’t know how long I had been staring at the spot where Ariana had vanished. My heart just couldn’t accept the fact that she was gone. She had left and this time I’m afraid, it’s forever. With the bad blood between us, there’s no way we could be together. For most of my life, I had never regretted any choices I made. Bad or good. Because I believed if you’re hesitant about something, you would still end up regretting whatever decision you make in the end. You would always ask yourself. What if? Could things have been different? I never wanted this type of uncertainty in my life so I was always decisive. But now, looking back, I deeply regretted bringing my mate to the pack. Perhaps I should have stayed with Ariana in the human town. I would be a CEO and she would do the work she loved. We would go back home together after a busy day at work, cook together, make love and do the same the next day just like normal people do. Most times people take advantage of thi
