Smith dragged me to our room. Holding my hair tightly in his hand. Hurting me with every step he took. I screamed and fought. Trying to escape out of his grip. The lifeless body of Carson was moved out of sight. My heart clenched at the thought of him.

He stormed inside our room before he threw me on the bed. The tears that escaped my eyes never stopped.

“You aren’t my mate,” I said. The anger that rushed through my veins was somehting I havent felt before.

Smith's eyes pierced into mine. The ones I thought I loved changed into something I hate.

“You are,” he said through gritted teeth.

“A mate of mine would never hurt me.”

Before I could take my next breath, my cheek burned from the slap he gave me. The taste of copper moved over my tongue.

“You’re mine,” he said while his hand moved to my throat, squeezing it shut. I struggled in his grasp. I tried to scratch him, kick him

Jamie POV I sneaked back inside through the window, hoping I didn’t make a sound. I was a bit surprised to see Smith was still sound asleep. I moved as quietly as possible. Not knowing what to do next. The last words that left Carson’s lips before Smith killed him, resonated inside my mind. “All this isn’t…” I looked around the room, searching for something that I could use against Smith. He doesn’t deserve to live after what he did. I don’t believe he is my mate. And even if he is, a monster doesn’t deserve to live. After I couldn’t find anything, I stepped inside the bathroom. A sigh left my lips when my eyes met my own in the mirror, my hand trailing a path down my neck. Moving past the bruises, Smith left, to the spot where I felt like something was missing. I’m not backing down. With a trembling hand, I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my hand. Wit

“I’m ready. Are you?” Matina asked. With a heavy sigh, I nodded. I hoped Carson would wake up before I went in to get Jamie. Or at least try. Every passing second, I could feel Carson getting stronger and Jamie getting weaker. The bond between me and Jamie is almost nonexistent. Matina handed me a glass, gesturing that I should drink it. It wasn’t the same as with Carson. However, I had no choice but to trust her. I drank the glass empty in one gulp before handing it back to Matina. Ignoring the filthy taste on my tongue, I laid down beside Jamie when my surroundings started to blur. The last words I heard before the darkness consumed me were, “bring her back, Ares.” Slowly the darkness was being replaced by light. The silence that surrounded me before was being replaced by… moans. “What is happening?” I asked Gideon. Who only grunted in response. When my vision was restored, I almost jumped out of my skin when I saw Estelle riding me. “Oh no, get her off now!” Gideo

When our lips locked, I felt her stirring beneath me. A small spark moved between our lips. I hoped it would be enough for her to come back to me. However, when I stepped back, I noticed she still wouldn’t wake up. I was about to take her in my arms when I heard guards approaching. More than I could take alone, especially if they are these fake lifeless shells Smith created. It seems only the ones who had their wolves were real people. I quickly moved away and hid in the next room while listening closely. Gideon almost took over when he heard Smith’s voice. I managed to push him back and peaked around the corner. It seemed he was here to take Jamie with him. He had seven guards with him. I could sense they all had wolves. Meaning they were really here and could be killed more easily. With a deep breath, I made my move, wanting to rip Smith’s head clean off. But when her voice resonated in my mind, I froze. “Wait,” Rhys said inside my mind. I was surprised and relieved to he

Jamie POV I was slowly waking up. My head was pounding like crazy, my body sore and broken. My hand moved through my hair before a hiss left my lips when I touched something on my neck. Gently, I brushed my fingers on the spot. Only then did I recognize the shape. A mark. Slowly, everything was coming back to me. My mates Ares and Carson. How Smith trapped me in this world he created. How he marked me… wait.. no… “Finally, you’re awake.” His voice made a shiver move down my spine. Not out of fear but out of despise. Now I know who he is, what he took from me. A growl left my lips, one that sounded more like an angry kitten than a wolf's growl. The anger I felt towards Smith was being replaced by confusion when I couldn’t sense my wolf. “When you’re done fighting me, you will have her back,” he said while moving closer, stepping out of the darkness that surrounded him. I tried to move away when his hand moved closer. Trying to touch me. An impatient growl left his lips before he

The whispers became louder and louder by the second, making Smith's grip on me only tighten. When it seemed like he was losing his temper, Gamma Ripley escorted me out of the hall. He didn’t harm me or hold me too tightly as Smith did seconds ago. I truly believe he thinks he is doing the right thing. I know I can't convince him at this moment, I will wait. But I will escape this place. “Aren’t you going to ask me why I said Ares?” I asked Ripley when we arrived at my room. Or what I believe is my room. “The king Alpha has already explained,” he said with a genuine smile. Not even hiding the pity he felt for me. I don’t need his pity. Especially if it’s because of the lies Smith told him. “You will see in time,” I said. His eyes that held his pity for me changed into confusion. “Is there a library in this place?” I asked when there wasn't a word leaving his lips. “Yes, I can take you there tomorrow,” he said with the same smile as before. “You know, I’m not the confused on

The entire day went by in a blur. We had to visit different packs. Everyone I met today had the same look on their faces. They all pitied me. But none helped me. All believed Smith’s words so quickly, so easily. My heart almost leaped out of my chest when I saw Grayson. I could see the same surprise on his face that I assumed was on mine. I signaled Ripley to go talk to Grayson. Thankfully, he got the hint and excuses himself. Smith didn’t think twice about it and continued telling his fake stories. After a half hour, Ripley returned. I knew he couldn’t tell me anything, not with Smith around. “I have to pee,” I said. I could see the uncomfortable faces of the Alpha and Luna before me. “I have to pee,” I said again. If Smith is selling a story that I’m a lunatic that he’s trying to help, this will only work in his favor. Before I could say the same words again, Ripley took me to the bathroom. Probably Smith mind linked him to take me. When we were finally alone, I turned the fauc

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 38

The entire day, I hid my wolf from the outside world. Not wanting to let them know I’m no longer weak. Today was another day of visiting different packs. I noticed we were coming closer to Ares’ packhouse. Rhys was trying to come out of hiding, wanting to search for our mates. “Why are we here?” I asked Smith. “I thought it was best to show you what happened. I know you still believe you can get away from me. This will help you remember what happens if you try,” he said. I could see Ripley tensing up at the sound of Smith’s words. “It doesn’t matter what you do, Smith. I will never be yours,” I said with a smile on my lips. A growl formed in his chest, while his eyes filled with anger. I only sighed and looked out of the window. He can have his tantrums, I only need a moment for him to be distracted. He didn’t even bring enough guards with him, sure he believed I could never run away from him. He was right, but now with my wolf back. I can be free again. Before we turned towar

The black wolf and Ripley’s wolf rolled on the ground. Rhys quickly took over and tackled the black wolf. Pinning him beneath us while snapping at his neck. Only when I saw his eyes did I recognize him. We both shifted back. While I straddled him, my lips crashed on his. My body moved against his. My moans filled his mouth when he turned us around. The only thing that was missing… no wait, two things. “Where is Carson?” I mumbled against his lips. When the words left my lips, I expected him to be jealous, or angry even. The only thing he did was smile at my words before he claimed my lips again. I wanted an answer, but damn, how much I have missed his presence, his touch, his lips. I could already feel his hard member pressing against my wet folds. The scent of my arousal quickly surrounded us. I moaned when I felt strong arms wrap me from behind. He pressed his chest against my back and whispered, “we missed you.” My heart fluttered at the sound of Carson’s voice. Finally, I hav

Jamie POV Years had passed in the blink of an eye, and I was happier than ever. All the struggles we went through, were worth it in the end. I was immensely grateful, that Ares choose this life with us, instead of power. That he choose this mortal life, instead of moving back to the god's lands. “Not so fast, you two,” I yelled after Kaitlin and Nathanial, who seemed to be ignoring me while they increased their pace. I softly caressed my bump, enjoying the sight of my rascals. How could you love someone so much that it almost hurts, was more than I could ever wish for. “Happy birthday, love,” Ares whispered, wrapping his arms around me and resting his head on my shoulder, inhaling deeply. “Have I told you how much I love you?” He asked while his lips brushed over his mark, making a pleasurable shiver move through my body, awakening my core. “Hmm, maybe you should remind me,” I murmured. “Knock it off, you two,” Ripley’s voice snapped us out of our moment, and I couldn’t h

With hollowed cheeks, I let Carson gently trust inside my mouth. His pace was slow and deep, making my sexual frustration rise. I glanced up, and I almost came when I saw Caron’s parted lips and flushed cheeks. Fuck, he looks so delicious. I tried to pick up my pace, but the hold he had on me, made it impossible. There was no way I could hold back the orgasm that was crawling at the surface. I whimpered and moaned around Carson’s cock when Ares picked up his pace, attaching my sensitive clit until my body shattered, and my juices spilled out. I was a mess, riding the aftershocks of my orgasm, when Carson’s pulled himself out of me and gently brushed his thumb over my lips. “Perfect,” he said. I took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm my body, but the moment of peace was quickly stopped when Ares claimed my lips, making sure I would taste myself on his tongue. Our position changed, without parting our lips. He lifted me in his arms, and I instantly wrapped my legs around his

Ares POV The moment Carson stepped inside, his eyes slowly wandered over my naked body. “Is this your plan? How is this going…” he stopped midsentence when he realized what the plan was. “How didn’t I come up with that sooner,” he mumbled more to himself than me. “Do you need help getting undressed?” I asked, pulling him back to the present. A small blush formed on his cheeks while he tauntingly slow started to remove his clothes. “We have to make sure she feels it right?” he asked with a hint of mischief in his eyes. Of course, this wasn’t going to be quick. I knew they were at it for hours to make sure I felt it when I wanted to kill Aegon. I groaned when he stood before me, naked. Who would have thought I would fall in love with another man? I closed the distance between us and brushed my fingers over his throat, while this need to choke him while fucking him senseless came into mind. My cock twitched because of the thought. I licked my lips before I pressed them on his

Ares POV “How much longer?” I roared for the millionth time. It has been two agonizing weeks. Jamie still hadn’t woken up, and the longer she stayed like this, the more I worried she would never wake up. “Alpha, I don’t know. The poison has left her system, and her wolf is fine. I don’t know why she won’t wake up,” her voice trembled with every word she spoke. “Isn’t there anything I can do?” I was desperate. This feeling was almost worse than the feeling I had when her soul was trapped in that world Hephaestus created. “You can try to reach her through the bond by pushing heightened emotions through it. Terrible fear, rage. As long as the emotion is strong enough, it could wake her up,” Matina said with care. I slowly nodded, and she left without another word. We hadn’t closed off our bond to Jamie, so she must feel our despair and fear. And seeing she wasn’t waking up, it wasn’t enough. “I know,” Gideon said, sounding smug. “Care to share?” There was a moment of silence whi

Carson POV I could feel myself becoming stronger with every passing second, but the pain remained. I knew it wasn’t my own that I felt. It was Jamie’s. My heart ached for her. All I wanted was to hold her in my arms. However, she only had eyes for our pups, and I can’t blame her. They looked so peaceful in her arms. As if nothing had happened. I softly brushed my finger over Nathaniel's cheek, letting the warmth of his skin seep into mine. “Do you want to hold him,” Jamie whispered. She didn’t have to say that twice. I picked up Nathaniel and let him rest against my chest. I hated that I was covered in blood, my own and Aegon’s. “Are you tired?” I asked Jamie when I noticed her eyes slowly closing. She only hummed in response before she fell asleep. I could feel her becoming weaker. The feeling alone made a tear stream down my face. Ares gently grabbed Kaitlin before he let Jamie rest against him. “We’re going to make it,” he whispered, but the fear in his eyes. The worry behi

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 87

Ares POV My breath hitched in the back of my throat when I saw what Jamie was about to do. I didn’t want her to drown in the darkness. She shouldn’t be the one that takes their lives. Aegon wasn’t strong enough to help Charlotte fight the command. He didn’t even respond to Jamie’s truthful words. He knew they made a mistake going down this path. A mistake that would cost both of their lives. “Jamie, let me do it,” I whispered when I stood beside her with our pups in my arms. “No, I made a promise, and I’m keeping myself to that,” she hissed while her eyes remained locked on Charlotte and Aegon. I didn’t know what she commanded next, but the change in the air told me enough. My eyes snapped to Charlotte, and before either of us knew what was about to happen, her claws formed on her free hand, and she pushed her claws through Aegon’s chest. Aegon cried out in agony while a stray tear moved down Charlotte’s cheek. Aegon had to release his grip on the hand she still had on her throa

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 86

Jamie POV Rage. All-consuming rage. My blood was boiling while my skin tightened. How dare she? It all happened in the blink of an eye; I was thrown against Carson while I felt something puncture my side. I coughed rapidly to get the air I desperately needed. The scent of my own blood surrounded me, and I knew I was injured. But I had to push forward. I pushed myself off Carson and let the same pull as before lead me to my pups. There was no escaping me at this point, and I would have back what was mine. I sprinted out of the room and headed into the forest. Before I even realized Ripley’s wolf running beside me. Ares and Carson’s concerned voices filled my mind, but still, I wouldn’t slow down my strides. “I need you to take out the witch. Otherwise, I can’t command Charlotte,” I told Ripley. Ripley lunged for Tara when Charlotte was about to step inside a car. Ares and Carson stood next to me before another breath could leave my lips. Tara screamed at the top of her lungs w

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 85

Ares POV The turmoil in my mind slowly settled when all I could feel was rage and this primal need to protect what is mine. We were hiding in the shadows outside of Charlotte's packhouse, waiting for her warriors to leave. Still, we would be outnumbered, but our odds were better with fifty of her warriors gone. “They are here,” Jamie mumbled. Only when my gaze met hers did I notice the glimmer that moved over her eyes. It wasn't the same as I saw her wolf press forward, but something else. I took her hand in mine and gave it a reassuring squeeze. One that we both needed. The soft rustling around us made me freeze on the spot until Carson’s scent wafted around me. “We can use the tunnel. It’s unguarded. It doesn’t seem she knows we were coming here,” Carson whispered. No one spoke another word when we turned around and let Carson lead us to the underground tunnel. The same we used when we ran away from Hephaestus We still had to choose which of Charlotte’s pack houses we shoul

Ares POVIt took us longer than I wanted, but the moment we stepped over the border, Jamie’s voice echoed inside my mind.“Did you find them?”I wanted to tell her that we did, but we only had a lead. “We are going to Litochoro.”Carson was in charge of gathering the warriors while I made my way to the packhouse. I was in desperate need of holding my mate in my arms and when I heard her voice inside my mind seconds ago, I knew she needed me too.I quickly shifted back and rushed inside. When my gaze met hers, a small smile formed on her lips. After I put some clothes on, I made my way to her and wrapped my arms around her small frame.“Are you okay?” I whispered while I held her close.“The poison is… I had some trouble with my sight, but now that you’re here, I’m fine,” she said with a small smile that did nothing for the pain that roamed through her eyes.I didn’t know what to say, but I’m glad that my presence helps her wolf fight the poison.“We are leaving in fifteen minutes.
