Asher's POV

"Well, I'll make the reservations and then get back to you," I turned back to Emily and saw her looking at me with an eyebrow raised in impatience. Without thinking or even knowing what she said, I nodded my head, ignoring the fact that I did not hear a single thing she said nor did I know what I was getting myself into.

I looked around, specifically back to the bodyguard. He had taken his eyes away from me, his gaze now on Emily. He wasn't squinting anymore; rather, he seemed unreadable.

There was something familiar about him. I didn't know what it was; I couldn't say exactly what that thing is, but he just felt familiar.

"Anyway," Steven's hand landed on my shoulder, "we have plans, so we're gonna get going."
