The year is 1822 and father is at it again. He’s wasting nephilim blood trying to absorb their powers, but his potions never work. The angels just ends up dying.
“This has to be it. This has to be the right mixture,” says my father, Gabriel.
The nephilim before us is struggling against his restraints, but it’s no use. He will die just like the others. Father forces the the concoction down his throat and the nephilim screams in agony. His body shakes violently as blood pours from his eyes, ears and nose. There is a glow coming from his body that blinds and forces us to look away, but it quickly dissipates as the body stills.
“NO! It was there. I almost had it!”
“Father instead of wasting nephilim blood, why not try your potions on the gifted. The nephilim numbers are few.”
I know I shouldn’t have said anything as father back hands me. He hates being questioned and he hates being wrong. The more father digs into dark magic the more he seems to lose himself in anger and hatred. He has lost sight of the goal. I want my mother back from the dead just as much as he does, but for him it is now about having power.
“Do not question me boy!” Suddenly the door bursts open and the man before us has blood dripping from his arm.
“Sir we are under attack. The hybrid is here and she is too strong. We are losing.”
“That bitch Adelina is getting on my last nerve. Come son, let’s go kill her once and for all.”
When we head outside it’s chaos and we are losing our warriors fast. Adelina has freed the angels and is wiping everyone out. Warriors begin to retreat as Adelina and my father go toe to toe with each other.
I wake with my heart beating erratically and dripping in sweat. Hundreds of years have past since that night my father lost his life. I have been continuing his work since, trying to find a way to bring my mother back. Instead of wasting the nephilim blood I have been using those that are gifted. Unfortunately it has taken too long, the nephilim blood has diminished and I still haven’t found the answers I have been looking for.
I continue to work in dark magic and can feel myself changing, but I am stronger than father. I will not let dark magic push me to insanity like my father. I just need to hold out and continue my work and wait for another nephilim to appear.
“Sir, we found an angel!”
“You are certain? Do not fuck this up!”
“Positive sir and she has a daughter, about three years old.”
“And she thought she could stay with her daughter and not be found out? Stupid angel. Gather the warriors, we’re taking the girl. We will have to kill the angel.”
I follow my warriors to a remote cabin in the woods. We must hurry cause I know she’ll sense our presence any moment. The baby girl has beautiful black hair with bright green eyes. She definitely passes for human. I can’t sense her powers at all, but sure enough I can see the birth mark giving what she is away.
“She is so beautiful Kiana. Our Haley is so beautiful,” says the man playing with the toddler.
“That she is Ari,” says the angel.
I have never seen an actual angel before and for a moment I am stunned by her beauty. Too bad there is no way to subdue an angel so I can try and take her powers. I’ll have to use the arrows my father acquired that will send an angel back to heaven. The nephilim will have to do.
“They will come for her won’t they,” says the child’s father, Ari.
“Yes, but only when she comes into her powers when she turns eighteen. She will appear human otherwise.” That is what she thinks.
“Do you really have to leave us Kiana?”
“I must, they can sense I am here. I am a danger to her. I must return to the heavens.”
She’s smart, but just a little too late. I see the angel glow as she looks out the window. She’s caught us.
“Run Ari! They are here!” The door bursts open as several of my warlocks enter the home.
“Kill them and take the girl.”
“I don’t think so, Ari run,” yells Kiana as her wings appear and and she sends a ball of light towards my warlocks and they instantly disappear as if they disintegrated.
Shit, her powers are unlike any other. She turns to me and prepares to send a ball of light towards me and my men. I quickly let loose an arrow and it pierces her heart. She falls to the ground as her aura slowly fades. I step towards her and place my hands on her head, trying a spell my father once used to absorb her powers. Maybe it’ll work on a full angel. The angel screams in pain and then she falls limp. She escaped back to the heavens before I could complete the spell.
“No worries angel, I’ll still get your daughter.”
I let Ari believe I have absorbed the angels powers. He is no longer in the cabin but I know he is close and can hear me.
“Your angel is gone human. Give up now and maybe I’ll let you live.”
My warriors find an underground tunnel with footprints leading down its path. I use my dark magic to find it’s exit and then portal myself there. Ari is strapping his daughter into the car, but he’s too slow. Poor human. I take a knife and stab him in the back, instantly falling to the ground. The child begins screaming.
“Dada! Dada!” I take the child out of her car seat as she is kicking and screaming. Damn kids are annoying.
“That is enough out of you.” I place my hand on the kid’s head and whisper a spell. She instantly goes limp as she passes out.
“What did you do to her sir?”
“Made her mute. Kids are annoying and talk too much, I like the quiet. Change her name to Ahsoka Banks, wipe out the human’s family.”
“Uhh..Ahsoka?” My anger flares at his questioning of me.
“Got a problem with that?”
“Nope….No…Star Wars is cool.”
I roll my eyes at my brother, Jason. He is not as powerful as I am, but he has enough to help were needed. I didn’t choose it because of the stupid franchise. I chose it because it means hopeful in Sanskrit and that is what she is to me. My hope to raise my mother from the dead. I will raise her as my own while continuing my research. When she turns eighteen I will absorb her powers and bring my mother back. I will not let anger and hatred consume me, driving me to insanity like my father. I will reach my end goal.
Ahsoka My name is Ahsoka Banks. I know, my father has this weird obsession with Star Wars and I have been made fun for my name for as long as I can remember. I turn seventeen soon but I won’t be celebrating. It is not something worth celebrating. I stare at the mirror as I cover up the bruises from last night. Father never leaves any on my face or anywhere else that I can’t cover up. Even on the hottest day I am forced to wear long sleeve shirts and long pants. I have a bruise on my hip that is starting to turn purple and wince as I touch it. I quickly finish getting ready to head downstairs to make my father breakfast. The sooner I get that done the sooner I can leave and get to school. Hopefully h is in a better mood than last night and leave me alone. I start making poached eggs, a huge pile of bacon and toast. The coffee pot is running and the newspaper is sitting on the table. I pile the food on his plate and place it in it’s proper spot with his mug full of coffee. I get to c
Ahsoka I reach the place I call home and hesitantly walk up the porch steps. I quietly open the front door, trying to sneak into the safety of my bedroom. Unfortunately, my father notices I am home and he throws me against the wall, grabbing me by my neck.“What the fuck do you think you are doing Ahsoka. Child services showed up today to speak to me asking me about the bruises and cuts.” Tears sting my eyes as I struggle to breathe under his grip and let out a whimper. He’s really angry. He lets go of my neck and I drop to the floor gasping for air. He then kicks me in the stomach twice and throws a fist into the wall. I am curled up in a ball trying to breathe.“Pack up your shit. We are leaving!”He walks away, making some phone calls. I slowly pull myself up and head to my room to gather what I can. I know a moving truck will be here shortly and whatever I don’t have packed gets left behind. I don’t know how he packs the house so quickly to have us out within the hour, but he do
AhsokaI am not use to anyone being so friendly towards me. It kind of makes me feel uneasy, like the shoe is about to drop. I head straight to the office and I am greeted by the receptionist. She gives me a friendly smile.“Hello you must be Ahsoka. My name is Ms. Hadley. This is your class schedule as well as a map of the campus. I will show you to your locker.” It worked once so I might as well try again and sign to Ms. Hadley.“Thank you Ms. Hadley.”“No problem dear, just follow me.” I raise an eyebrow as I follow her. Another person who knows sign language. I have lived in many towns and not once had I come across someone who could understand me. Ms. Hadley shows me to my locker and gives me the combination. She already has all the textbooks I will need for my classes. The classes are set up like college classes. Tuesdays and Thursdays I have chemistry, AP US history and PE. Mondays and Wednesdays I have world history, calculus and AP English. Fridays I have art and auto mechan
Nico“Yeah. Quiet little thing. Her name is Ahsoka.”“Like Star Wars?”“Yeah. I think it’s a cool name.”“Nadia I think she is my mate.” When I mention this I hear Ms. Hadley gasp and look at us with a apologetic look for eavesdropping, but I know it’s kind of hard not to watch someone sign. I look at her confused as to why she seems concerned about this.“I’m sorry Nico it’s just that, she is human.”“That can’t be right. A wolf has never mated to a human.”“Hello there future alpha. Is there something you need from me,” asks Mr. McGuire.“Yeah I wanna know everything there is to know about the new girl, Ahsoka.”“Oh her, she’s a harmless human. Very sweet girl it seems, she is no threat to the pack. She just moved here with her father from Idaho. Very smart girl from what I can see from her class schedule. She is mute but is able to sign. She came to the right school to help her with that. From what the teachers just told me she is a jumpy little thing. She doesn’t like being touche
AhsokaI wake up earlier than I normally do. Dad normally doesn’t hit my face, but he was so drunk last night he struck me. I tuned out my surroundings that I don’t even remember him hitting me. Thankfully it’s not a huge bruise on my cheek but I’m having a hell of a time covering it up with make up. I’ll have to keep my hood up to cover my face. It’s slightly noticeable if anyone was looking too long at my face. I give up trying any further and head downstairs to make father’s breakfast. Once breakfast is finished and I clean up, I turn to head out the door to find father standing in the doorway watching me. “Sorry my angel. I didn’t mean to scare you.” Father walks over to me and reaches to touch my cheek. We’re back to being nice, well his version of nice. I flinch slightly ,but his touch is soft as I hear him curse under his breath.“I should’ve never struck your face. Now be a good girl and hide it well. You do that and I’ll have a gift waiting for you when you get home.” He is
NicoI am so excited for today but I try not to get my hopes up too much. I want my mate, but I am apprehensive at having a human for a mate. Plus she could also decide to reject me and want nothing to do with the shadow world. That would feel even worse than searching for my mate. There is no such thing as second chances. The goddess must have a sick sense of humor. My first two classes are agonizingly slow. Ace won’t stop whining in my head which makes me agitated making the wolves around me run for the hills.“Dude you got to relax. Maybe we can try and find her at lunch, everyone either hangs out in the quad or in the cafeteria. This is not an open campus so she can’t leave,” says Jackson. “It has got to be weird to have a human as a mate,” says Jayden, Jackson’s twin.I hear Jackson give his brother a growl and smack him upside the head. They may be twins but Jackson is stronger, and smarter apparently, so I made him my beta and Jayden is my gamma.“What was that for,” whines J
AhsokaI feel bad I didn’t say goodbye to James today, but I am too worried father will know what happened at school. I haven’t been at school for even a week and someone already found out about the bruises. I cross my fingers that Nico doesn’t say anything. I get inside the house and begin getting dinner situated. I hear the front door slam shut letting me know he is not in a good mood. He must know.“Hello angel. Did anyone notice your bruise?” I don’t know if this a trick or not but I decide to lie since I know he will hit me anyway if he knows.“Good. I am proud of you. I have something for you.” He hands me a small bag. I slowly open the gift he has given me and find it’s a book on angels. I am slightly confused at his gift, but sign thank you to him anyway.“Angel’s are a gift from heaven and being that you are one, I figured you should learn about who you are.”I know he calls me angel but I question his sanity if he believes angels are real. I see his eyes narrow and I look
AhsokaMy eyes go wide and I am frozen in fear. Right in front of my face is a wolf. He has golden eyes and reddish brown fur. He is huge compared to typical wolves. My heart is racing, but begins to relax as I stare into his eyes. I have no idea why, but I have a feeling he won’t hurt me. His eyes are soft rather than menacing. The wolf sits and then lowers it’s head onto my lap. Okay, I guess I have befriended a wolf. I hesitantly reach out my hand and pat his head. He moves his head up towards my hand and I flinch, pulling my hand back. The wolf whimpers and puts his head back down. I don’t know why but I decide to sign to him.“This has to be the weirdest day for me.” The wolf lifts his head to gaze at me and I feel like he is actually understanding what I am signing to him. “Okay and now I am having a one sided conversation with the wolf.” I smile at him and he licks my face.“Um, lets not do any licking.” The wolf nudges my stomach and I wince. He whimpers at me and I lift my
Hey Y'all, Thank y'all for the love and support throughout this book. I am so glad so many of you have stuck through this with me and enjoyed this story. I promise the story continues and have begun writing the next book which I will post here. I have read your comments and heard the frustrations of how short my chapters are and y'all would like more than one chapter posted at a time. I will post take that all into consideration when posting my next book here. I know I have many other characters throughout the book. Let me know which stories you'd like to know more about and I'll maybe write some side stories. Keep an eye out for the next story The Tribrid's Daughter. I'll leave a little synopsis of what the story is about. It's been seventeen years since the Dark Coven was destroyed, but Leon is still out there. He wants revenge, he wants his pack back and he wants Ahsoka's daughter, Katerina, as his luna. For Katerina life has been perfect. Her parents are amazing, she loves her
LeonIt’s been five years since that bitch ruined all our plans. Ryan is dead and my pack is gone. I have very few followers left though with Ryan’s loyal coven members following me our numbers are not so bad, but it’s not enough to take on Ahsoka. Now that she is in full control of all her powers, we are not match and we would be slaughtered if I made a move. It’s taken five years, but thanks to the coven I have finally healed from my injuries, though they couldn’t save my right eye. I would’ve died if it weren’t for them. I swear I will make Alpha Nicolai pay for what he did to me and my pack.“Sir, sorry to disturb you.”“What is it Sam,” I reply with a glare and down the last of the whiskey in my glass.“The tribrid and her children, Kai and Katerina, were spotted
Nico“Dismissed.”The elders file out of the room and I turn my attention back to Ahsoka, I can tell something is wrong. As soon as the elders are out of sight, Ahsoka clutches at the table and wraps an arm around her belly. That is the third one I noticed since being in this room.“Ahsoka? This is not Braxton hicks. Let’s get you to the doctor.” Suddenly we hear a gush of flowing water. We both look down at the floor and then back at each other.“Nope, definitely not Braxton hicks,” she laughs.“Stop standing there like a deer in headlights. Get the car Nico,” says mom.“Right, shit, car.” I rush out the door and hear Ashoka giggle behind me. I get her jeep and pull it out front. Dad helps her in.“Do not
AhsokaI have had this weird feeling that someone is watching me but we would know if someone had trespassed onto pack lands. Nico has been extra attentive, wanting to know how my pregnancy has been every second of the day. I can tell he is hiding something from me, but it’s been so peaceful I haven’t wanted to bring it up.“I’m hot, let’s go cool off,” says Nadia.A volleyball net has been set in the water and we join in on the game. Natasha teaches me how to play and soon I am laughing, actually enjoying myself. We get out of the water to dry off so we can watch the traditional race. Some members are disappointed I won’t be running. I laugh knowing many want to try and beat me. The gun goes off and they all take off, with Nico in the lead. No far behind him are
NicoI try to comfort my mate as best I can. She’s been through so much, she deserves to be happy from here on out. I mind link Dr. Lee to let him know she is awake. Ahsoka calms down by the time he arrives.“It’s good to see you up Luna. How are you feeling?”“I don’t remember much, just bits and pieces,” she replies.“Well from the amount of power you displayed and how long it took you to recover, that doesn’t surprise me. The memories will slowly return to you so try not to dwell on it too much. You still need rest.”“How is Katerina?”“She is doing just fine. The witch did well with breaking Ryan’s spell. Gibson found no trace of it and your water did not break. It seems you’ll go a full human term in pregnancy.”Dr. Lee does a quick check up on my mate, drawing more blood b
AhsokaMy body feels like jelly as I move like a sloth. Everything hurts and I feel very weak. I look at my surroundings and I realize I am in a bedroom but I don’t know where.. I sit up and place a hand to my head. Memory flash and I feel a headache coming on. What in the world happened.“Ahsoka you’re finally awake,” says my aunt Anika.“What happened?”“You don’t remember?” I shake my head no at her. I am trying to think how I got here and where here is, but the harder I try the more of a headache I feel.“Well what do you remember?” I close my eyes and think as bits and pieces begin flooding my head.“I remember bits and pieces. It was cold, I think. Yosif and I were kidnapped. I remember there was a witch who stopped my labor. Oh my goodness, Jackson! I killed Jackson!”
AhsokaI look at Natasha and she shrugs. “He hasn’t said a word since he’s been here until now.”“How could he possibly know she is his mother,” asks Jackson.“I have no idea but I am assuming it has something to do with the angel blood.”We watch as the boy relaxes. I walk over to them and he flinches, griping at her shirt. I back away and he relaxes again, drifting off to sleep. As soon as I am sure he is asleep I walk back over and take Ahsoka’s hand. I look at the boy and notice how much he truly looks like her. He has her thick, black hair and an olive complexion. His head is shaped like Ahsoka’s but I noticed he has Ryan’s brown eyes.“How is she,” asks Ahsoka’s aunt, Anika as she enters the room.
AhsokaI don’t know what Ryan did to us but I can feel Ayla is being restrained, unable to help me fight off Ryan’s spell. I can see my surroundings but I am unable to move my body at will. What has he done to me? “How good of you to join us Alpha Nicolai. My daughter has been waiting for you patiently but it appears you are too late.” I stare at Nico and the others, trying to speak but my body won’t let me. “She is not your daughter you piece of shit,” Nico growls. “Maybe so but we do share a child together.” “You mean the boy you have kept hidden and beaten at the canyon?” My heart shatters. He beat this child just as he had beaten me.“You will regret taking him from me.” I can feel tears streaming down my cheeks as I see fear in their eyes as I walk towards them. I try to stop myself as I can feel my powers stirring inside me. I know what he is making me do, he’s going to make me kill them.“Ahsoka, it’s me Nico.” My hands have fire dancing in their palms and I feel myself p
AhsokaI can’t help but smile at Nico as I see him enter the room. I feel calmer and happier than that I’ve seen him. Ryan does not appear to thrilled. “You are mine, stop smiling at him.” I was too distracted watching Nico that I don’t dodge the spell in time and I fly across the room into the elevator. All this fighting is making me nervous for my baby. I feel like I’ll end up in early labor or I will lose her. “Ashoka,” yells Nico. I push myself off the floor as Ryan grabs me by the hair, shoving me agains the elevator wall. I can see Nico and my family surrounded by Ryan’s coven. Tears run down my face as Ryan pushes the button for level five and then he begins using blood to draw something on my head. The last thing I see is the coven charging towards my family.Dimitri trained me well with hand to hand combat skills in case I ever found myself in this situation. I am glad he did because it’s paying off. I get several punches, breaking his nose.“You bitch!” He takes a swing
