ISAIAHMy father paced back and forth while I sat behind the desk, watching him. He was going on and on about Zira carrying a white werewolf. A werewolf our lineage hasn’t seen for three generations. This was an excellent opportunity to strengthen our pack, but I had other plans. “Look, all I’m saying, Son, is this is an opportunity not only for you as an Alpha but for this pack. If I were the Alpha, I would do this in a heartbeat,” my father continued. “But you’re not, Father. I am,” I said, keeping my eyes on his. “I gave Alaia my word, and I’m not going back on it. Not for you, not for the council, not for anyone.” I wasn’t backing down from this. I made a promise, and I was sticking to it. “Just think about it, Son. That’s all I’m asking.” “Fine.” I got up from my seat and walked to open the door. “I need a minute alone to think about it.” He looked at me, shocked by my action. Being a former Alpha, he wasn’t used to someone telling him to leave his former office. Of course
ZIRATears fell down my face again today, and I hated it. Stupid emotions were taking over everything. I looked at my parents as if they were crazy. I have been preparing for this day for months, and now this. "This is not fair," I whined at my parents. "Please just talk to him and see if he'll let me go." My mom rubbed my back as Lisa put another plate of food before me. I pushed it out of the way. I wasn't in the mood for food. "For the last time, I'm not hungry.""That's a first," my brother laughed, trying to lighten the mood, and one glare from me shut him up quickly.Lisa took the plate and left. Thank Goodness. I didn't like her and wished I could get Mary back. "Mom, Dad. Please. I haven't missed this tradition since I was a kid." "We know, sweetie, but you're so close to giving birth, and we don't want you to drain all your energy." I started to protest, and she held up a finger. "We all know how you get during the snowball fights." I gasped at my mom. "Mom, it's a
ISAIAH I opened the door to my office just as I heard another door slam and Isabella screaming in frustration. I knew from the distance she was near Zira's room. I wondered what had happened now. "Isaiah, we need to talk," Isabella linked me. I sighed, not really in the mood to handle whatever drama she wanted to talk about. I had just come from a conversation with Alaia that didn't go as planned. I remembered going to her office to speak about something, but now I can't remember what it was. I last remembered her yelling about not believing her and slamming the door in my face. Believing her about what? I have the faintest idea. Dammit! What were we talking about? I knew it had to be important, but... "Hello...Earth to Isaiah?" Isabella was pacing in front of my desk, glaring at me. I didn't even realize I was sitting down. "How did I...when did you...wait, what's the problem?" Isabella sighed. "Come on, bro. I've been ranting for five minutes while you stare into la la land
ISAIAH Zira screamed and threw a plate full of food at the door. “I said I’m not hungry, you dimwit!” The plate was smashed to pieces only a few inches from where Lisa was standing. Lisa barely flinched as she began to pick up the mess. Her casual demeanor made me believe this was a routine between the two. I heard about she-wolves going through mood swings during their pregnancy, but this was more than I bargained for. She has snapped at everyone at least once or twice, and poor Lisa gets the bulk of it. This wasn’t like Zira at all. Nina, on the other hand, maybe. I’ve been giving her space, but these outbursts had to stop. “Zi, you need to eat,” I said, stepping around the mess to get closer to her to block her view of Lisa. Zira looked like she was going to attack Lisa at any moment. “Doctor Callie says you need to build up your strength.” “Right, Alpha Isaiah,” she said sarcastically. “Just enough strength to move from this corner of the room to the other. Thank you for
ISAIAH That got me excited. I hadn’t even thought about finding out the gender until now, and it finally got Zira to look at Doctor Callie before slowly turning to me. Zira got up from the bed, refusing my help, and took the towelette from a table. She began wiping the liquid from her belly as Doctor Callie waited for our answer. “I already know the gender,” Zira whispered. “It’s a boy.” Did she just say a boy? Those words echoed in my head as if I needed to repeatedly say it to believe it. “A...a boy?” I asked, trying to wrap my head around it. “We’re… we’re having a boy!” I couldn’t help but laugh happily. I picked Zira up and spun her around, ignoring her protests. I finally put her down as she pushed away from me. That was fine. Nothing was going to ruin my mood after this. I felt like the luckiest Alpha in the world. A boy and a girl. What else could someone ask for? Doctor Callie gave me a printout of the ultrasound. I smile while looking at the image of my son. “Our
ZIRAI watched Isaiah smile when I agreed to take a walk with him. He’s been in a good mood ever since he found out he was having a son. Guess that can change men. Having a prodigy as if girls couldn’t be a prodigy. That just made me even more irritated, but I had to control it. Lately, small things got on my nerves, and I didn’t have my mom here to help me. I really miss my family. A walk would be good to vent and breathe the fresh air. Most of all, I love winter and snow and haven’t been in the woods for a while. This could be good. Besides, anything would be better than that stupid room. “Great,” Isaiah smiled. He finally released my hand and walked to the porch where Mary stood. She had a bag and a few other things I couldn’t see in her hands. Isaiah took everything from her before he made his way back to me. I looked at Mary, who gave me a smile and waved goodbye. If she had a hand in this, that’s a good sign. I know I can truly trust Mary. She was one of the few people I k
ZIRAI moved closer to try to get a peek at what Isaiah was doing. A part of me was still nervous to be out here like this with him.He turned towards me with plugs in his hands and the biggest smile. “This,” he said, joining both plugs and trees around the clearing lit up. The colors spread across the trees and reflected off the snow below. I walked under them until I felt covered with all the lights. It reminded me of the drive-thru light festival my family was at. I closed my eyes, imagining myself with them now. When I opened my eyes, I saw two folded chairs under the trees. Isaiah took my hand and helped settle me in the chair before sitting in his. He took a canteen out with two cups and poured something into both. He handed me one, and I could smell the hot chocolate. He pulled something wrapped from another bag, and my nose could already tell it was a cinnamon roll. He handed one to me, and I noticed it was still warm. “How are they still warm?” I asked. Not that I cared. I
ALAIAI was irritated when Omega Lisa talked about Zira leaving with Isaiah, especially after our little earlier conversation. I had to use some power to make him forget about the markings on my arm when he came to question me. Now this! I knew he had to go to the doctor with her since she was getting close to birth, but that didn’t mean I had to like it. The more time he spent with her, the closer they became. No matter how many hurdles I throw their way, they seem to jump over them every time. The only good thing was the poison I had Omega Lisa put in her drink. It started working a week ago. She’s been snapping at many people lately, making it seem as if she was paranoid and crazy. It was exactly where I wanted her, but I wanted more. Later in the day, Omega Lisa discovered that Zira was having a boy. How she found out was awe-inspiring, and I was glad she was on my side. So, Zira’s lucky enough to give Isaiah his first child and his first son at that. How fucking lucky. I had t
ISAIAH Water splashed on my face for the hundredth time as my son’s laughter filled the bathroom. I looked down at Arias, who apparently got a kick from throwing soap in my face. Each time seemed to make Arias laugh more. “Arias, we’ve been in here for twenty minutes. You have to let me wash you,” I said, trying to grab him, but Arias slipped out of reach. “That’s it. I’m coming in.” Arias shrieked, trying to get away from me. I couldn’t help but laugh. Who knew bath time could be this fun? After another ten minutes or so, I was able to thoroughly wash and dress Arias for bed. I laid Arias down in his crib and grabbed a book to read from the bookshelf. Arias climbed out of his crib and
ZIRAI stretched and yawned as the light from the window crept across my face. I reached across my bed and realized it was empty. I instantly sat up. Panic starting to set in. I looked around the room for him, and it was empty.I was on my way to get out of bed when the door to my bathroom opened. James walked out and noticed my panicked face. He cocked an eyebrow, with a smile playing across his face.“What?”“I thought,” I said, trying to catch my breath. “I thought you were gone.”James laughed. “Where would I go?” James asked sarcastically. “You barely let me pee without hovering over me. And that snoring-”
ZACKAfter Alaia’s death, getting things back together slowly improved as the days passed. I took her body back to my pack to have a proper burial. Mirja didn’t think she deserved it. She wanted to burn the body, but I stopped before she could.True, Alaia was evil, and I knew that. However, she was still my sister, and I felt partially responsible for everything that had happened. So, I brought her home and buried her next to our parents. She was their problem. After that matter was settled, our days were filled with rebuilding the Blue Moon Pack. With the help of Alpha Isaiah and Alpha Fiona, we were now working at a ninety percent capacity. Most of the houses were rebuilt, and Bronx proved to be a responsible Beta. George and Harry came around more often. Harry was obsessed with Mirja’s knowledge of
ISABELLA"No, no, no!"Luna Bella's screaming filled the entire hospital room and down the hall. She sat in bed, holding her hands out in front of her while Victoria stood in front of her. Victoria sighed, holding a teacup of medicine in her hands."Luna Bella, you have to drink this to get better," Victoria said to her, clearly frustrated. "Are we seriously going to go through this every morning?""Are you seriously going to force me to drink that crap," Luna Bella growled at her.Hitting the breaking point, Victoria growled back. "Drink it!"Luna Bella leaned back with a shocked expression before glaring at Isabella, who sat back, watching everything unfold.
THIRD POV After her little laughing fit, Alaia turned her attention back to Mirja, who was trying to claw her way out of Alaia’s grip. Alaia could see her brother stalking back and forth beyond her little shield, looking just as helpless as his little mate. “You know,” Alaia started with a malicious smirk, “it tickled me when I found out you were my brother’s mate. All this time, I couldn’t figure out why you always dismissed my plans of wanting to kill him. Subconsciously, you were always on his side. You just didn’t know why. So now I’m going to enjoy killing you while he watches.” Alaia tightened the hold around Mirja’s neck as Mirja gasped for air. Alaia was so wrapped up in her fury to kill that she didn’t notice anyone entering her space until the last moment. She whipped around and came face to face with James.
THIRD POVAlaia blocked another attack from Deacon as he pushed her away from Arias and Zira. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Zira finally getting up and assessing the situation.Alaia looked around, confused. James’ wolf, Deacon, was attacking her, but she could clearly see James’s body in the hall. Unfortunately, her mind was so clouded that she couldn’t figure out who was real. Besides, this wolf was moving too fast for her to focus on attacking. This…this wolf had to be an imposter or some sort of trick. She thought.Deacon kept attacking her, pushing her back, and she could feel herself getting weaker, or maybe it was tiredness. She watched Deacon stand between her and Arias. The one whos
THIRD POV It took a moment for Zira to realize she was being carried. Then, she looked up and saw James, who noticed she was awake. “You...you rejected me,” Zira said softly, and it tugged at James’s heart. “James would not reject you, Zi. I can tell he loves you,” James said to her. Zira looked at him, confused. “You’ve never called me Zi before, and why are you speaking in the third person?” “I’ll explain when I get you as far away from here as possible,” James said as he proceeded down the long hallway. They descended a few hallways before Zira squirmed out of James’ hold. “No,” Zira screamed. “I have to get Arias. I have to find him.”
THIRD POVThe sounds like that of beating drums echoed throughout the woods as werewolves collided with each other. More rogues descended upon them as they tried to hold the line. Deacon maneuvered as best as he could, taking down a rogue every step of the way, but they seemed to be multiplying. He did his best to concentrate, but he felt pain spiral throughout his body occasionally.Zira. He had to get to her, but there were too many obstacles.“Portals are open,” George linked him.Deacon immediately started running towards George when a rogue jumped right before him. Maybe it was because he was only a few minutes away from her, but he felt a new kind of energy surge through him.
THIRD POVMary gripped the bottle behind her back as the rogues glared at her. She tried controlling her fear as she approached them, but it slowly took over as she felt her legs shaking slightly. She was still just an Omega with meager fighting skills.“No one should be in this area,” growled the she-wolf as she gave Mary a once-over, noticing the shaking. “Why are you here?”“Luna Alaia,” Mary squeaked out before clearing her throat and failing to stand tall. “I’m here at Luna Alaia’s request. She wants me to check on the baby.”Mary tried to step through them, but the she-wolf held her back. Mary was able to get close enough to spray the pheromones on the she-wolf.
