Chapter Fifty-three

I woke up to find myself back in the pack once again. I was filled with a sense of dread, knowing that I would once again have to deal with Philip. I got dressed and headed to the dining room, where I saw him already eating breakfast. He looked up at me with a cold stare, and I knew that I had to tread carefully.

As I took my seat at the table, I felt Philip's eyes on me. He was watching me closely as if he was waiting for me to make a mistake. I tried to keep my composure and act naturally, but it was difficult. The tension in the air was palpable. Finally, I decided to break the silence. "Good morning," I said, as I took a sip of my coffee. Philip didn't respond, but I could tell that he heard me. I knew that I had to make conversation, no matter how uncomfortable it might be.
