Sterling realized it was time to get ready to flee when he saw the city in the distance. Sterling would need to flee at that point, as the man would insist on taking him to his parents' house. When he saw the gas was going low, the man mumbled gently. That would be the ideal time to get away. Upon pulling into the gas station, he gave Sterling a quick glance and requested him to wait for him to get back.

With a nod, Sterling gave the man the idea that he could rely on him. Sterling unlocked the car door and ran away from the man as soon as he got inside the convenience store. He ran until his legs failed him. He was in the city when he came to a stop, in a place he didn't know.

He pulled a piece of paper with notes on where to find his brothers out of his pocket. How would he get to that address when he hardly knew the city? He was going to ask the man which way to go to that location when he saw him approaching from a distance.
