His powerful hands closed around my throat, squeezing me with immense strength. I struggled to breathe against his unyielding grip, gulping for air as I tried to free myself but he was too strong. He lifted me from the ground by my neck, like I weighed nothing, dangling as he held me in place.

“S-stop. P-please,” I managed to choke out. my eyes felt like they were going to pop out from their sockets, and I could feel the blood draining from my head.

Desperation clawed at me as I fought for my life, scratching at his arms and drawing blood in an attempt to break free from his deathly inhuman hold.

When I looked at his face, He looked anything but human as his eyes glowed eerily, fangs bared in a menacing snarl. With the speed of lightning, he moved, tossing me on the bed with so much force that I almost made my neck bend at an awkward angle. I desperately gasped for air, catching my breath as I tried to regain composure , but before I could react, but he was on top of me in an instant.

Liam and Wilona were by my side as we strode to the WitchWolf’s Apothecary. For some reason, I was afraid of what I would learn about my fate but determined at the same time. I needed answers to why an ordinary girl with no will to live suddenly gets tangled up in some fantasy bullshit that I cannot run away from—even though I so desperately wanted to.As Liam nudged the door open for us to walk into, my senses were immediately greeted by the sweet scent of the earthy aroma of the room. As I looked around, my gaze was immediately captivated by an array of plant vases, each a diverse species. They each hung on every corner of the wall.A towering bookshelf lined the walls, filled with ancient books, providing an air of wisdom to the room. The huge room was of maximalist interior and exuded a medieval charm. At the far end of the room, a counter stood with a woman sitting behind it.“I knew you'd come sooner,” she said, cracking a smile. As we approached the counter, my eyes widened in

The realization that my mother had died because of me was too much to bear. All Because of some stupid werewolf destiny I never wished to be a part of. I lowered my head to the counter, my forehead grazing the cold surface as my body trembled in uncontrollable sobs. My sight blurred as tears streamed down my eyes and splattered on the ground underneath me.She had died because of me.“It’s not your fault,” Liam said, his tone trying to offer solace, as he rubbed on my shoulder. But he was wrong. All of this was all my fault.I raised my head and looked Diana in the eyes, “I didn’t ask for any of this. How much do I have to suffer?”Her eyes were tender as she spoke, “I know it hurts, but it’s fate. The moon god—“Bullshit,” I spat out through clenched teeth and I felt Wilona’s hand still on mine before she retreated. I was honestly tired of this moon goddess bull

Liam was the one supervising my training today because Wilona had some business to attend to, and I was glad about it. Since he was a man, he was going to take things easy with me.I was wrong.I sent a kick to his face, and he blocked it with his arm, my leg coming in contact with his rock-hard body.“Ow,” I groaned as I rubbed on my leg, “What is your body made of? Titanium?”He let out a hearty laugh that made my insides flutter and probably every other girl in the room. He was a cool attractive guy but I was more on the dangerous bad boy side. Liam gave off the vibes of a golden retriever and that made him so much more adorable.Speaking of bad boys, my mind immediately ricocheted to Devyn and what happened between us the other night. After he had practically yelled in my head, I passed out and by the time I was awake, I was back in my room, on my bed. It made me wonder how I got there, probably by carrying me.Knowing how cruel Devyn was, he probably dragged me through the ground

A wave of undeniable fear gripped me as Devyn dragged me with so much that made me feel dizzy.I slapped Devyn. In front of everyone. He was always on his bad side, and I certainly knew the right buttons to push to keep him that way. I wasn't even sure if he had a good side. The slap, however, had put me straight on his worst side.I could tell from the rising heat emanating from his body as rage brewed within him, and from the painful vice grip on my arm as he dragged me along with him. Desperation drove me as I looked behind, hoping anyone would step up and come to my rescue. I wasn't surprised when no one stepped out. They treated this guy like he was God and feared him. My heart squeezed hard in my chest when my gaze fell on Liam. He had his head turned in the other direction like he was trying to avoid looking at us. I bit my lip hard, suppressing the urge to scream for him to help me.I had no clue where Devyn was taking me, or what he was going to do to me, and that made my cu

Devyn’s POVI could feel her perceptible misery from the room. Her emotions cast a heavy shadow, intertwining with my own emotions. It weighed on me, causing my wolf to whimper in response to his mate. Yet, I shut him out.I felt revolted that he was acting in such a way because of a woman.A difficult one at that. But that was the thing about the mate bond. No matter how shitty that person was, it would be hard to resist.I wasn’t going to let her out just yet.It was what she deserved. And perhaps after that, she would learn to control her sharp tongue and know not to disrespect me. Though I had so much in mind to teach her a lesson, I found myself restraining for some reason I did not understand.Being locked alone in the dark was something I had grown used to in my past, and I knew it was enough to make one lose their mind.
