A loud scream wakes me up, but I still feel a little dizzy, so I don't open my eyes yet.

"Reject her!" Says a female voice, which I think is Astrid.

"Even if I wanted to, I can't, she hasn't been transformed yet, she doesn't even know what I am," Kieran replies annoyed.

"And what will you do then?" She asks him, "are you going to leave me?"

"I ... I don't know," he replies, "I still don't know what to do, Astrid." He pauses, there's a lot of tension in the air, so I close my eyes more.

"Work it out, Kieran," Astrid adds, "she can't be your Luna, she doesn't know anything about the pack, and she doesn't even care about our world. I will always support you, I will know how to be a better Luna, this is my pack, I grew up here and I will do everything to carry it forward as you need. "

"Astrid, we were playing around, you and me," he replies, "you are my father's delta, and we are close all the time," he insists, "we are not a couple, it was not going to be forever."

"She's another alpha's daughter!" she yells at him, "she will have her own responsibilities, too, Kieran, have you thought about that?"

"We'll figure that out later, Astrid," he replies, "for now it was what I had to say, and I said it."

"She's not the wolf that this pack needs as Luna, Kieran," I hear the squeak of the door opening, "think about it," ends up saying Astrid, who slammed the door when she left. Then I feel a body sit on the bed very close to me.

"Now you can open your eyes, Astrid is gone," Kieran tells me. I look at him with the sound of my heart pounding in my ears. He, his father, all these people are real werewolves, I don't want to see him transform again.

I am also a she-wolf.

"How did you know I was awake?" I say, despite the fear I have, but I must not show it. They seem to be normal when they look human.

"By your breathing," he answers me with a slight smile.

"I want to see her!" Someone is heard behind the door and we both look over there. He is a man, although I cannot make out his voice.

"Kieran is with her and has asked to be alone," says one of the guards, who I think is Derrick.

"She's my family, I have rights and I don't think it bothers Kieran if I see her," the man replied. A moment passes before the door opens.

"Go ahead, beta," says Derrick and lets him pass.

A tall man looking like Richard appears in the doorway, with bluish-gray eyes, a sharp nose, and reddish hair. Kayra is beside him, whose features are like him, and her hair is cropped on one side.

"Hello, Bianca," says Kayra with a smile, but I don't reciprocate and turn my gaze away, "I introduce my father, beta Maikan, he's Richard's and your mother's brother," she adds, and I continue to ignore her.

I'm trying to hide how nervous I am. I take courage from somewhere in my broken heart. Nothing is as I expected. My perfect future was ruined by all this stupidity. Nor is it that I am truly clear about what the future holds for me with these people and, worse still, my life may be in danger.

"Hi, Bianca, it's nice to finally meet you," Maikan says kindly, but I glare at him.

"Betas, alphas," I say teasingly, "do you have a Greek letter for each position here?"

Kayra and Kieran can't help but laugh, but Maikan looks at them to repress them.

"No," says Maikan finally after he shuts up the younger ones, "we only use three or four, depending on our caste." The alphas are our leaders, the betas are second in command, the deltas oversee security, and the omegas are the rest, but there are some special omegas with certain powers.

"I was teasing, Maikan, I didn't need a whole speech," I reply petulantly.

"You need to know how your world behaves, Bianca, sooner or later you will have to accept it," he says with more kindness in his voice than I expected.

"What if I want to go back to my life?" I reply, "What if I want to take that scholarship, I won to study law?" He stares at me as if a second head had popped out, "don't burn your brains out, Maikan, I know you're going to answer me."

"I didn't know that your healing power would go as far as guessing what I think," he teases me this time, "I have the same interest in you that Maddox has, to protect you. In case you haven't noticed, I'm your uncle too."

"Well, I found out today that he was my uncle, so that doesn't change much about who you are in my life or it doesn't even change much who Kayra is," I reply haughtily, "the only difference between you two and Richard is that he took me to know the sea, because the illusion that I had a future elsewhere, and then bring me here, where people are distinguished by a letter, is the worst thing anyone has ever been able to do to me. For me, you are all the same,” I add, and everyone is perplexed.

"Whoa, whoa!" Maikan says with a hiss, "you can tell you have alpha blood."

"Why?" I scoff, "why am I fucking haughty?" I add, looking at Kieran and he chuckles.

"A fucking stubborn," he says, "a fucking haughty, it seems that everyone is discovering things about you," he indicates, while he smiles at me and winks at me.

"If you stay around, I assure you that the list will continue to grow," I reply all arrogant.

"Don't worry, I'll be around, and I can make the complete list," he says and winks at me, which makes my blood boil. Kayra and Maikan give each other a knowing look and then look at me.

"I just came to introduce myself, Bianca, that you know that you have people who support you, despite everything that has happened to you," Maikan adds, "but I see that you still have a lot to chew on. When you finish of licking your wounds and you need the family, I'll be there," he finishes and they both go, leaving Kieran and me in the room.

"You can also go, Kieran, I would like to rest," I say to him and settle into bed.

"Where would I go, beautiful?" He answers me, "this is my room," he adds, and I am stunned.

"What the hell…!" I'm about to curse, but I stop. If he thinks I'm going to play his little game and lose control, he is very wrong. I've had too much of everyone today, even Kieran.

Kieran is a wolf. He is that wolf.

"So, I guess I'm the one who should get out of here," I reply, as I get up, but he stops me.

"Oh, no, darling,'' he answers, "you won't go either,'' he clarifies and I look at him with wide eyes, "you'll see, the only way I could stop my father from punishing you was to tell him that you were my mate, so he has only allowed you left if you were under my care and I do. But since you don't like to be imposed, you have two options, either you go alone to a stinky dungeon in the pack house's basement or you stay here with me in this huge room, you decide," he tells me with a smile twisted on him lips and I roll my eyes.

"But what did I do?" I tell him, still amazed, "if the only thing I told him was the truth, that no one is in charge of me."

"You are wrong about that, he is the alpha," he answers me as if that means something to me, but he notes that I don't understand absolutely anything, so he explains, "and no one questions him, threatens, raises his voice or disrespects him as you did. Nor does he speak badly of the pack in his presence or imply that we are traffickers in front of him. We all trust him, and he would give his own life for all of us. This is how a pack is built."

"So, we are werewolves," I say, "and do they all transform or only do alphas?"

“We all do."

"And why don't I transform myself?" I ask him.

"Because the first transformation happens when you turn eighteen. I am nineteen and I heard that you will be in a few months."

"Yes, I'll be."

"Well, until then you'll stay with me, then we'll see."

"May I know why I have to wait until then?"

"Because until then you will meet your wolf and she will recognize me as your mate, only until then, you will be able to reject me."

"Well, how arrogant you are, I assume that's an alpha thing," I tell him, and he rolls his eyes.

"My wolf has already chosen you as your mate, but since you are not of age, your wolf has not shown up to declare it."

"It looks like your wolf has good taste," I tell him petulantly and he looks at me with those beautiful eyes of his, which makes me blush.

"And you're a fucking liar, maybe we don't need your wolf to choose me, although we do need her to reject me."

"If that's the problem, I can reject you today, without any problem," what has this man believed, that because he's super handsome I can't send him to hell?

He looks at me and laughs, while he scratches his ear.

"You can do it, but it's not that easy. You wolf must reject me, too, otherwise, the couple's bond remains," he replies, "but, if remotely it could be and you would want to reject me, they will judge you for insubordination and you will spend a time in the dungeon, as I already told you.

I stare at him, I don't really have much of a choice unless I get away, I guess. Well, I'll have time to think about how I'll do it without being attacked by a wolf again.

Wolf!

"You were the wolf the other night in the woods," I'm not asking, it's a full-blown statement.

"That's right," he replies, "you didn't give me any other alternative. I'm sorry about the accident."

"I'm sorrier," I reply, "I'm lucky to cure myself of everything."

"I suppose you're right," he adds, "well, now we're going to dinner, we want to celebrate that you're here, of course, if you behave."

"I can have good manners when I want," I reply and get out of bed. "Too bad I don't have an appropriate dress," I add sarcastically.

"You have, several in fact, you can look in the closet that is on the bathroom left side," I look at him and roll my eyes, "they brought them from the beta wing, in your mother's old room," he adds with some interest, "it was the largest room. Maikan did not allow even Kayra to occupy it, but since you took care of changing the plans, I asked to bring all of them,"

"Wow!" I say swallowing hard. My mother. I still don't know what that little pain point in my chest is when I think of her if it's disappointment or pain. Deep down and no matter how strong we want to be or how much we say we are over it, all orphans yearn to have our mother around

"I'm sorry," Kieran says when he sees my face's expression change, "I didn't think ... I didn't want to ... I'm sorry," he repeats.

"It's okay," I reply and laugh petulantly. "I guess I have to thank you for bringing the clothes," I joke, "you can sit and wait."

I head to the bathroom and strip naked to get into the shower.

God! What a large and beautiful bathroom. The water is delicious. When I go out, I see Kieran is in the bathroom, so I grab a towel and wrap myself in it immediately. The colors rise to my face.

"You could wait outside, you know?" I blurt out angrily.

"And why should I?" He responds as if it's fine to invade my personal space, "ah, I understand," he replies, "nobody has seen you naked before, right?"

"I'm not going to answer, it's none of your business," I reply, trying to move ahead of him but he gets in my way, and I look him up and down, "but, I think I have the right to choose who ones look me naked and who doesn't."

Then he corners me between his arms and the wall. His sweet breath runs down my face so slowly, a chill runs up my spine. He's so fucking sexy, my legs are shaking.

"You don't want me to get close either, do you?" He asks me, speaking of my cheek, "or that I speak so close, that I can almost hear how racing your heart is," I cling to the towel, trying to have enough strength to push him away. Suddenly he turns as if he would realize, "I'm sorry, forgive my wolf", he says as he walks to the bathroom and takes off his clothes in front of me, leaving an excellent view of everything that hardens my nipples, "he is eager to mark you and does not care whether your wolf has woken up or not. I suggest you put some clothes on. I'll take a bath in cold water, see if I calm him down," and with that, he gets into the shower, leaving me with more questions than answers, with an excellent view of his muscular back and well-defined butt.

"I look like a bitch," I tell Kieran in dislike, as we walk down the hall towards the stairs, to head to the main dining room where dinner will be served in my honor. Never liked to attract attention; it makes me nervous and clumsy, and it is the last thing I need at this moment with so many strange people. Werewolf. Hope Richard is present. It wouldn't hurt to see a familiar face, even if I'm still upset by all his lies. "Yes, but a beautiful bitch,'' he answers near to my ear, placing his hand on my bare back, by the neckline that reaches my black dress waist with three-quarter sleeves and whose pencil-shaped skirt covers the middle thigh. He is dressed in a black shirt with two buttons opens and rolled up on his arms, which draws all the muscles of his torso and arms. His pants are black too. His dark hair is stylish in a well-organized ponytail with gel. "A bitch is a bitch," I reply. His closeness makes me dizzy, and I can no longer be up

In the basement of the huge pack house is the dungeons. But they are not what I expected. The corridors are quite clean with good artificial lighting. The cells are like small rooms, with a bed and not a cot, a bathroom and a nightstand with a lamp and a shelf above the bed where you can put some books. Or at least that is Richard's cell, who placed the nightstand near the bars so that he could play cards with Velkan, who keeps him company. They both look at Kieran and me with raised eyebrows. Then I look at Richard carefully. His blue-gray eyes are very similar to mine, as are his chin and his cheekbones. His brown copper hair is similar to that of his brother, Maikan. Before I didn't pay attention to it, except occasionally when I accompanied him to the supermarket or to buy clothes, even on summer travels, some people would go with their children by the hand or play with them or simply smile with each other. In those moments I longed for Richard to really be my bl

I wake up to the sunlight coming through Kieran's bedroom window and the warmth emanating from his body. I try to free myself from his arms, but he squeezes me more. "Hi, sweetie, it's a nice day out there," he whispers in my ear and plants a kiss on my cheek. "It seems so," I answer and try to hide that I'm red as a tomato, "we'd better hurry, how does one go about getting some breakfast around here? We must be ready for the meeting with your father." He releases me from his embrace and growls, which makes me feel suddenly lonely. Then he goes to the bathroom, and I hear the shower. After a while, he comes out with a towel around his waist and his bare chest with drops spilling down his muscles and my mouth feels dry. Seeing that I'm looking at him, he laughs. "What?" He tells me with a crooked smile on his lips, "I look better now in the morning, right?" And for the first time I meet him, I don't know what to answer him. After gawking for a

The room where they had arranged everything for the dance in my honor is now a court, with a main table, two podiums, one next to the main table and one in front of it. There are also chairs arranged for the audience that is entering now. Kyle named his brother Ketin as his new delta, but it is temporary, because he oversees managing the pack's businesses, such as the Scarlet Moon clubs across the country, although I suspect which it's just a facade for his true work: espionage. So, at the head table, Kyle can be seen presiding over the court, with Kieran on his right hand, who is replacing Maikan because he cannot judge his own brother, Maddox. On the left hand is Ketin, conducting his first task as a delta. They have brought poor Richard from his cell and placed him on the podium next to the judges' table. Despite his worried face, he looks good and healthy. He looks in my direction and I smile at him to give him courage, but he nods to give me courage, too

Maikan moves over to the table presided over by the half-naked in his forties' man who rules the pack, and I can't help but fix my gaze on the muscles in his chest. "That man could be your father," I tell myself, but then I remember the man who was just kicked out of the room and my heart begins to ache. "I'll tell someone to bring dad a sweater," says Kieran, who sits next to me now, "all the she-wolves here are drooling," he adds, and I look away, "we don't want the case to be delayed, because mom comes to put them in their place, don't you think?" I clear my throat and lower my head as Kieran talks to Derrick and he brings the alpha clothes. It takes a few minutes before Astrid is brought to the podium. Her blonde hair looks a bit disheveled, and she has dark circles that make her look like a raccoon. "Silence, please," says Kyle who is now wearing a sweater, "we will initiate the trial of Astrid, the pack's former delta, who has committed high tre

He dodges me and moves so fast, that I only see a blur before I feel the blow, "you have to pay attention to your opponent, anticipate his/her movements." "Anticipate?" I scoff, "if I can barely see you when you hit me." "You cannot see me?" He's amazed and he runs his hand over his head," but you're a wolf and you have alpha blood, so you should see my every move." "I've been a wolf for five days," I complain, "before that, I didn't have to hit anyone or worry about someone attacking me." "So, your life was very boring," he laughs, "I think we're going to start with something more basic, come on," he takes me by the hand and leads me to some mats in a gym secluded area, "here we can meditate." "As we cannot go to garden or forest, I have asked for some plants and flowers for this first session, then we will see what we can do when you already move on," says Richard, "now sit down, we will begin with the meditations." I do what he asks me. He has arranged some mats on the floor for making the exercises. "The reason why your senses are blocked is that we lived in a human city, far from any forest," he tells me, and I listen to him carefully, "when you were a baby we lived in a small town, where I could transform from time to time.
