"She's already waking up," I hear a male voice next to me, "we must give her something to keep her unconscious."
Have a shooting pain in my temple and my mouth is dry. Eyes are still closed. I feel scared. I don't quite remember how I got here or where I am or who these people are.
"We can't give her more drugs, what she took was enough to put a horse to sleep," says a girl, "but she drank it all like water, she has too much resistance to liquor or to liquor plus drugs, in any case."
"What did you expect of her, Astrid?" Another girl says, whose voice I recognize, "her liver must process what they put on her, alcohol, drugs, whatever. Anyone would love a liver like that,” she scoffs.
"Told you I found her," the man says again. Now I'm sure who he is. Velkan.
"Realized the moment I saw her, darling," says the other girl, "she's just like her, I have no doubt."
Beginning to remember. These are Kayra's friends, and they drugged me. Velkan is involved, too, what's more, he came to Richard's house for me. That going to the club was just a kidnapping trap.
God, what a mess am I in!
"Where am I?" Say out loud, trying to free myself from the arms that surround me, but they squeeze me a lot more.
"Easy, darling," the girl speaks again, "we'll soon get to a place for you to rest."
"Let me go!" Yell, "Who really are you?"
Start kicking and punching like crazy, even though I feel like I'm moving in slow motion. I'm still dizzy and my head wants to explode. Hands take my wrists and immobilize me.
"Easy, Bianca, I'm Velkan," he says to me, while he takes my wrists and immobilizes them, but I manage to get a kick right at him, "ouch!" He complains and takes my legs and catches them so that I don't kick him again, "we will arrive soon, be calm, we won’t hurt you."
"Let go of me!" Yell at them, but they ignore me. It seems that I can yell, kick and hit them, that is not going to do me any good.
"How long until we get there?" Kayra snaps, who is in the passenger seat.
"They're bloody traitors!" Tell them both, "how could they do this to me!"
How long has it been since these bastards kidnapped me?
Surely Richard must be worried about me, although I think he must be much more disappointed that I betrayed his trust of me.
How will Matt and Meg be.
What are these guys thinking of doing to me?
I don't think they want me for a ransom, I don't even have parents, much less relatives with money.
Heart beats a thousand an hour.
Heard there are people who kidnap folks to do all kinds of things, some of them have their kidneys and hearts removed and sold to rich people.
They take me to a place to cut and pack my organs, then sell me in parts. Try to get out of Velkan's hands again, but he tightens his grip on him.
"Easy, little sister, I promise you that we will not hurt you, do you believe me?"
Of course, I don't believe you!
If they weren't going to hurt me, why did they drug my drink to take me away by force.
But Velkan is stronger than me and fighting him will only hurt me more, so I open my hands in surrender and nod. Little by little he lets go of me and I put my hands down and settle into my seat.
"Where are you taking me?" Ask him more calmly and he looks at me doubtfully.
"Home, your real home, Bianca," he answers me calmly, but his head goes to the driver's rear-view mirror, as if seeking approval. When he nods his head, Velkan continues, “by the way, that's not your real name. Your name is Alanna."
"Yeah right, and my parents are super powerful millionaires and they kidnapped me at birth," I scoff.
"Something like that," he answers me, and I look directly at his face to see how he laughs, but it's not like that. His eyes show a total sincerity, "your father is a kind of king, if we can call him that, they took you away at birth, but It was not a kidnapping, not at the beginning."
"What happened?" Keep making fun of it, I can barely hear it without cracking up, if it wasn't for, I'm crammed into a minivan with a bunch of people, "did my caretaker lose me and I ended up in the child protection system or what?"
"Not exactly," he replies, "actually your caretaker became your kidnapper and disappeared you into the child protection system so that we couldn't find you."
"What?" I blurt out, "now it turns out that good Richard is a kidnapper, who has kept me away from my real family since I was born," I laugh, "well, Velkan, if you have something against Richard, you don't have to take it out on me," I claim, "it shows that you don't know what it is to not have parents, Velkan. In my world, a man like him who cares about you, puts food in front of you, and watches over your future is appreciated. You stay with him because others might treat you badly or abuse you."
"Don't talk about me like you would know me, Bianca," he huffs, and I think I have said something that hurt him "You talk because you've had a roof and food, but you don't know anything about the streets. So don't try to tell me how my life has been,” he snaps, but he instinctively looks ahead.
"Warning you, Velkan," says the driver, who happens to be Kieran. I feel like my heart is falling apart, just thinking he's involved in all this kidnapping trash "I'm not going to warn you again."
"I'm sorry, my alpha," Velkan apologizes, and I look at him when he mentions the word "alpha", like he's some kind of king. Velkan looks at me again, "I have nothing against him, I assure you," he responds more calmly, but I know that his words are pure lies," he seems to be a good man, but it seems that he is only a facade, that he has other plans."
"Do you think my father is lying?" Kieran says.
"No, my alpha," Velkan replies, "it's just that I was living with him for four months and I never saw signs of betrayal, but I think we can talk about it later, if you allow me."
"Assure you that he will be judged in due course," Kieran responds more calmly, "for now, we will make our first stop, we are going to need a hot bath and rest," he announces the moment he stops the car. Behind it is another minivan where Derrick and Frans are traveling, who stop in the parking lot next door.
The two huge men flank me, Velkan and Kayra are behind me and in front are Astrid and Kieran. In order not to be his prisoner, they take care of me too well.
The place is in the middle of nowhere, it only has a gas station, a restaurant and the hotel, the rest is just forest. There is neither a house around nor an establishment.
If I die here and my body is buried, no one will ever know where it is.
We walk to the hotel entrance and Kieran talks to the clerk.
"Three rooms, please, two rooms for two people and a third for three," he says.
"Of course, sir," the clerk replies and searches his computer for the rooms he has available, I suppose. Start looking around the hotel reception. The place is very quiet, not to say that it is almost empty. Towards the left hand there is a door that connects the restaurant with tables and sections. To my right side is a long corridor that leads to the bedrooms.
After a while, the clerk gives Kieran cards who gives one to Astrid and one to Frans.
"Bring the suitcases please, Derrick, we'll wait for you in the rooms," he says to him and nods his head in reverence.
Is this guy some kind of king?
Frans is the first to open the door to his room, then Astrid opens the next door, which will be Kayra, her and me. Kieran is the last to open his door.
A little while later, Derrick shows up with three suitcases and I wonder when these people took my things and put them in a suitcase. It seems like it will take us a day or two to reach our destination, judging by the amount of clothing that is packed.
Astrid is the first to go to the bathroom.
“You and I are family, you know," Kayra tells me, which surprises me, "if you didn't realize it, we look a lot alike."
"Matty has just come out of a very high fever, he needs me," I reply, without making any comment to what she says because I don't believe anything, "little Meg was happy to have you as a sister, you know?"
Kayra is silent, staring at me. Then Astrid comes out of the bathroom and it's Kayra's turn to wash up.
"What?" Blurt out to Astrid when we are alone, "Are you also going to confess to me that you are my family?"
"No," she says sarcastically and a grimace on her face as if it were something she stuck to her shoe, "but now I'm the future ex-girlfriend of the next alpha, thanks to you."
"What does it mean that you are the future ex-girlfriend?" Tell her while I escape me a slight smile, "what he still can't make up his mind to leave you? What he already got the best of you, and you no longer serve her?" Scoff.
"It means that he just found his mate, but she still hasn't transformed," she tells me with a smug look, "she doesn't deserve that honor, she despises us, she thinks we are a joke."
"Transform into what?" I counterattack.
"Astrid, stop it!" Kayra yells as she comes out of the bathroom, "if Kieran finds out, he's not going to do very well."
The questioned is silent and it is my turn to use the bathroom. When I leave, we all go to the restaurant, where the others are already waiting for us.
"Good," says Kieran on the phone with his back to me, "we're going to need him, she's not making it easy for us ... you're right ... he must be present ... yes ... See you later," he closes the call and turns to look at me, then his eyes run over me from head to toe and his gaze strips me naked, but I ignore him. He calls the waiter and who brings us the menu that I deliberately ignore. After a while the waiter returns and takes everyone's order.
"What are you going to drink?" he asks me directly.
"Nothing," I answer, trying not to show my anger.
"She's going to have a hamburger," Kieran answers for me and I glare at him, "and she'll eat it all," he adds, challenging me to say otherwise.
"She has a name and she's a guy who does what she wants when she wants and if she doesn't feel like ordering a bloody hamburger, she won't, because no one tells her what to do or what to order and she's bloody pissed off about all this and she wants to go back to her house and send them all to hell," I yell at him and get up from the table "so you can take your hamburger and put it wherever you want."
Then Kieran gets up from the table and walks over to me, like he's examining me carefully and yes, he's bullying me, but I don't feel like letting him notice.
"You're going to eat the bloody hamburger because I say so," he says so close to my ear that I feel the anger coming out of him, "and I don't want another tantrum."
"Or what?" Dare him, "are you going to kill me?" Blurt out "I'm not part of your bloody cult and I won't do what you want when you snap your fingers. Tell Velkan or Kayra, they will obey you and will even do cartwheels in the air if you ask them. You are not my owner."
The waiter leaves immediately, seeing that the situation is so tense at our table.
"You'll see," he says to me and laughs at me, "you're brave enough to be such a small thing."
I don't answer him this time, instead I stay silent at my post, but if he thinks I'm going to eat the bloody hamburger he is very wrong. Not part of his cult, and I will not stop fighting to come back home.
When the food arrives, they all devour as if they were homeless, while my guts roar, but I refuse to eat. The last thing they gave me in this group knocked me out for who knows how long.
Everyone finishes eating and my hamburger remains the same.
"Add the bill to my room," Kieran says to the waiter when he removes the dishes, "and pack the hamburger to go," he adds. The waiter does what Kieran asked and brings a bag with my food inside.
We all get up from the table and head to the rooms, but Kieran stops us, when we get to my door.
"Change of plans, "he says, "Velkan, you will go to sleep the girls' room and Alanna will sleep in my room."
"What?" I make fun of Kieran when we are in his room, "do you need an excuse to get a woman?" My lips are pursed with rage and my mouth is still dripping poison, "try to touch me and I rip your head off." Kieran laughs out loud at my threat. It's true, he's huge, he must be about six feet four inches tall, and his body is very muscular, so a small thing like me shouldn't stand a chance in comparison. That doesn't mean that I'm going to make it so easy for him, if he thinks that I am going to fall at his feet, he is very wrong. "Why don't eat and stop threatening me?" He says laughing, trying to get back to his cold position without succeeding, "I just want you to be well and you're hungry, that's why you must eat." "If you want me well, take me home," I snap, "do you know how difficult it is for an orphan girl to get someone to care for her?" "You are not an orphan, and you are not alone", he tries to tell me with the greatest kindness that hi
"It's going to be fine, my alpha," I hear Velkan say, who is sitting on the bed next to mine. Eyes are narrowed and the pain in my side draws a groan from my mouth. "Are you sure?" Kayra asks him in a shaking voice "that branch was stuck between her ribs, and it must have punctured her lung. She was drenched in blood. From what I know, she must have even pierced his heart." "Remember who she is," Velkan replies, but before he continues, I try to sit up. "And who am I supposed to be?" I tell him, looking at my side. The pain diminishes little by little as if I had taken some pain medicine and now it was taking effect, "and I think you two are exaggerating, I just scratched myself, look," I show Kayra, who is putting her hand to her mouth. The medicine or whatever they recently gave me to take effect and now I am much better. I sit on the bed edge still weak and look around me. The sun rays hit me directly in the face and I rub my eyes. Derrick and Fran
The U-shaped table is chaired by Kyle in the middle, with his wife Luna on one side and Kieran on the other. Richard and I sit opposite. He runs his hands over his face several times, leaving one hand stroking his three-day beard, as he does every time, he is speechless. But I have too many things to say, and I don't have time for him to take the courage he needs, so I break the awkward silence. "How did you get there first than us?" Richard looks at me in surprise, because I'm sure he didn't expect that to be my first question. "We took a plane," he answers me, "they told me that they took you by car and it was fine, it is more difficult for them to detect you," he adds as if it were normal to use the word "detect". I deep breath. I think neither he nor I can wait to think about this for another second. "Is everything they told me true, Richard?" I ask him. "It depends on what they have told you, Bianca," he answers me, "the great truth is th
A loud scream wakes me up, but I still feel a little dizzy, so I don't open my eyes yet. "Reject her!" Says a female voice, which I think is Astrid. "Even if I wanted to, I can't, she hasn't been transformed yet, she doesn't even know what I am," Kieran replies annoyed. "And what will you do then?" She asks him, "are you going to leave me?" "I ... I don't know," he replies, "I still don't know what to do, Astrid." He pauses, there's a lot of tension in the air, so I close my eyes more. "Work it out, Kieran," Astrid adds, "she can't be your Luna, she doesn't know anything about the pack, and she doesn't even care about our world. I will always support you, I will know how to be a better Luna, this is my pack, I grew up here and I will do everything to carry it forward as you need. " "Astrid, we were playing around, you and me," he replies, "you are my father's delta, and we are close all the time," he insists, "we are not a couple, it w
"I look like a bitch," I tell Kieran in dislike, as we walk down the hall towards the stairs, to head to the main dining room where dinner will be served in my honor. Never liked to attract attention; it makes me nervous and clumsy, and it is the last thing I need at this moment with so many strange people. Werewolf. Hope Richard is present. It wouldn't hurt to see a familiar face, even if I'm still upset by all his lies. "Yes, but a beautiful bitch,'' he answers near to my ear, placing his hand on my bare back, by the neckline that reaches my black dress waist with three-quarter sleeves and whose pencil-shaped skirt covers the middle thigh. He is dressed in a black shirt with two buttons opens and rolled up on his arms, which draws all the muscles of his torso and arms. His pants are black too. His dark hair is stylish in a well-organized ponytail with gel. "A bitch is a bitch," I reply. His closeness makes me dizzy, and I can no longer be up
"Thank everyone for being here, but we must end the soiree," Kyle announces to everyone, then he looks at a few. while "Kieran, stay in your room with Bianca, have Derrick and Frans escort them. Atea, by my side, we must see each other as a united herd." "Yes, my alpha," they all answer, except me. "Kyle ... uh, sorry, alpha Kyle," I correct myself when I see the warning look, he gives me, "if you don't mind, I'd like to stay in the meeting. I think I will be of great help if you let me be there." "This world is too new for you, darling," he tells me with more kindness than I expected, "you won't know how to act in front of two alphas and I wouldn't want a confrontation with Einar today. I'd like to buy more time for you." "With all the respect you deserve, alpha, I think that if he listens to my opinion, it will be easier for you to convince him," I say, "don't worry, you have my word that I will behave and know how to measure up." "I'll be b
In the basement of the huge pack house is the dungeons. But they are not what I expected. The corridors are quite clean with good artificial lighting. The cells are like small rooms, with a bed and not a cot, a bathroom and a nightstand with a lamp and a shelf above the bed where you can put some books. Or at least that is Richard's cell, who placed the nightstand near the bars so that he could play cards with Velkan, who keeps him company. They both look at Kieran and me with raised eyebrows. Then I look at Richard carefully. His blue-gray eyes are very similar to mine, as are his chin and his cheekbones. His brown copper hair is similar to that of his brother, Maikan. Before I didn't pay attention to it, except occasionally when I accompanied him to the supermarket or to buy clothes, even on summer travels, some people would go with their children by the hand or play with them or simply smile with each other. In those moments I longed for Richard to really be my bl
I wake up to the sunlight coming through Kieran's bedroom window and the warmth emanating from his body. I try to free myself from his arms, but he squeezes me more. "Hi, sweetie, it's a nice day out there," he whispers in my ear and plants a kiss on my cheek. "It seems so," I answer and try to hide that I'm red as a tomato, "we'd better hurry, how does one go about getting some breakfast around here? We must be ready for the meeting with your father." He releases me from his embrace and growls, which makes me feel suddenly lonely. Then he goes to the bathroom, and I hear the shower. After a while, he comes out with a towel around his waist and his bare chest with drops spilling down his muscles and my mouth feels dry. Seeing that I'm looking at him, he laughs. "What?" He tells me with a crooked smile on his lips, "I look better now in the morning, right?" And for the first time I meet him, I don't know what to answer him. After gawking for a
My brain begins to come out of surprise and process what is happening. The familiar face makes me laugh with relief."God, Velkan!" My heart returns to normal mode, "I thought all of you were the scholars who came to get more blood samples.""We leave those sleeping in their laboratory," he replies, "although I'm not sure for how long, we drug them and close that pavilion from the inside, but the guards have other ways to enter, so go up quickly," he rushes us and I give way to my mother to climb, then the twins go, and I follow them to the end. Velkan looks at me with a frown and I look back at him, because I remember I am angry with him. He's on Kieran's side and he's the one who locked me in the room, to begin with! And he says he is my brother! When we're upstairs, I see that Frans is accompanying Velkan on what I assume is the rescue mission for my family, which Ketin must have armed. Frans nods his head to greet me."Do you really thin
"Are you okay?" the beautiful woman in her late thirties across from me asks. Her hands touch me shakily. Her smile is a bit shy and her touch is warmer than I could ever think. My mother. How long I thought that phrase was not allowed. It still feels weird. As an orphan, I suppressed even thinking about her, at least in the last five years, when I understood that I had to continue with my life without the presence of a mother. But, in those dreams that one cannot control, when you are totally relaxed sleeping soundly, I imagined myself with one of her, although in reality I only laughed with her and played that she did not catch me.It was when I woke up and thought they were nightmares because reality hit me and that dream only mocked me with desire and in the most blatant way possible. A mother was an illusion in an orphan's life. But now I found her, she's here and she's taking care of me."Yes," I reply, "I'm fine, thank you."“Bu
"So, you, me, him, Velkan, we're all wolves," he concludes, and I nod my head."And how did they catch you?" I ask him after I'm silent so he can assimilate everything I just told him."Well, I was with my mother and my sister, they're both beautiful, you know?" he tells me with a smile, but with some sadness, in her eyes "the girl is my half-sister, mom joined a banished wolf after my father left her and took me. When she found me she brought me to a community of outcasts, but life with them is very difficult and we heard that the Silver Pack accepted outcasts. But it was all a hoax and here I am."Where is your family now?" I ask him when I see that there is only him, me, and two other boys in the cell."My mother, her partner, and my sister were taken to the cells upstairs a while ago, along with ten others. Every other day they do the same thing. We have a week here, more or less" his voice cracks, "those who leave don't come back. I'm so scared, Bian
"Damn Kieran!" I yell as pound the door repeatedly in frustration. "I know you must be upset now, but everything has been for your good, Bianca," Velkan tells me from the door's another side. "Upset?" I scoff, "I'll show you what the meaning of that word is when I choke you with my bare hands." "Just don't try anything weird, like trying to climb the chimney or something," Velkan warns me, "I know you heal pretty quickly, but a three-story fall can kill you instantly." "Why don't you just walk away without saying anything, as Kieran did," I blurt out, "or better yet, ignore me and don't give me your face." "Yes, yes, I'm going," he says more calmly, "I just hope you understand that it's for your good." "For my good? don't mess me, Velkan!" I yell at him again, "you decided to lock me up like a dog, you didn't even give me a chance to explain my reasons." Velkan doesn't answer me again, instead, I hear his footsteps down the cor
When we left the party in the youth wing, we walk straight into the room and open the door in a hurry. We close it and he and I stay alone, which makes me swallow hard. "I don't think they'll invite us back to the youth area," I tell Kieran as he adjusts his torso to my back when he squeezes me around the waist with both hands. His head reclines in the gap between my neck and shoulder, sucking hard and making my legs feel suddenly weak. "You've got me so turned on," he whispers in my ear, spreading kisses down my neck that make my nipples harden. His hand sneaks between my pants looking for my center, causing me to sigh heavily. Then I smell his essence again, the one that was driving me crazy a while ago in the youth common room. I taste it on my tongue and swallow it, which makes me want to go crazy, so I turn and grab Kieran by the sweater and start to pull it off. He does the same with mine and we both throw ourselves on the bed. His hands are everywhere,
"I think I know what Einar is looking for," Richard tells me when I'm already sitting on one of the sofas in the room that he uses as an office, while he looks for one of the books, he was reviewing a moment ago and he hands it to me, "here it is." He opens the book and points to a paragraph, and I read. "Heal the blood, the blood of the strongest. In harmony it lies, in harmony submits. The strength of the blood rules the world." At first, I don't understand anything at all. Then I see it, the blood that heals is mine, "it speaks of my blood and the strongest blood." "That's right, the blood of an alpha," explains Richard, "but not just any alpha," he adds, "the strongest blood, it must speak of an alpha with a lineage of generations and Einar is," he tells me and I look like plates, "both Einar's father and mother have alpha blood, that makes him strong," he continues with his explanation, to my amazement, "but the next part is the one that worries me and t
Velkan's wounds are slowly recovering, as my blood takes its effect. The deadliest cuts have already been closed and he is left with only his torn shirt with the claws marks that attacked him. Now he is safe, on one of the sofas in the alpha's office, in his mate's arms, who does not stop crying with joy to know that he is going to recover. But that doesn't make me recover from the bombshell he just threw at me. For as long as I can remember, the idea of a mother was that an idea, not something real, something that I could even touch. Now I know that she is somewhere forgotten for so long. My mother is alive. I have two brothers. They are in a dungeon. My whole family is in a dungeon. My heart aches and weighs too much for something that I thought was lost. I have real siblings, not the ones my life at Richard's house gave me. Twins. Velkan recovers his color, and he looks much better, and we are all w
It's the third day of concentrated training that Kyle indicated. "Get up, again," Kieran tells me when he knocks me down again. I think he's done it like a thousand times today or that's what my muscles feel like. At least I can already see and hear his blows, but he doesn't hit just once, when I feel the first, the second hits right on target, "what? Did you already give up or what?" He challenges me and I get up and I look at him annoyed, "Your eyes don't hit, you have to use your fists, or your feet and I don't want any pouting me. It won't work when they come for you." "You're a fucking Nazi," I complain and my blood boils. This Kieran is nothing like the one he curls around my body when he wants to sleep. "Tell it to your father's henchman when he'll put you in a bag and take you because you defend yourself like a little girl," he snaps at me to anger me even more," now, come and hit me," his fists are ready to hit me with his blows, but I hear the air w
"She's already waking up," the 's Kieran voice says, who is holding me in his arms, right where Einar's men left me, "are you okay?" "I think so," I say, "have they already left?" "There's no one here," he answers me, "we returned because I heard you in my mind and assumed that something was wrong." "You have no idea," I point and tell him everything that happened, "after they left, I was scared to see my claws, my God!" My voice comes out in a thread, "I didn't know it could change in parts or that it could change before I was of legal age." Everyone present looks at me in amazement, some pass their hands over their heads, someone screams in astonishment and others put their hands to their mouths. "Try to calm down," he whispers in my ear, but his muscles tense, "you're safe now." "We are not fine!" Kyle explodes and he takes his cell phone, "he's going to listen to me," he goes to the garden's other side so he can talk. Maikan and Ke
