~Amara~

I sat on the floor of the room, crumbled into a messy ball when Adrik walked in. After I’d seen Lucian with the gorgeous lady by his side, I had assumed that she was the one he had replaced me with. It was further confirmed by the way he kept on looking at her while he spoke. Even though I could see little from the window space, and even though I could see just his back, I knew that he was gazing at her with such fondness that he had never used on me.

The way she clung to her arm like a bee to honey, and the way her wide eyes looked up to him adoringly like a god, I just knew that there was no way Lucian was looking for me. I could swear that he had forgotten all about me and moved on with his life.

My heart had felt so heavy like heaps of lead had been placed on them. Watching them be so warm and loving to each other had torn my heart apart. It shattered the remaining hope that I had left of him finding me. And from what happened, he obviously hadn’t noticed that I was his m

~Amara~“There really was no fire? You made the whole thing up?”, I asked Chad who seemed to be enjoying the lie that he told Adrik way too much.“Yes. I had to get him out of there somehow. And you looked like you really needed help”Well, he wasn’t wrong about that one. The last thing I needed was Alpha Adrik harassing me all over again in my state. I’d been so glad that Chad showed up when he did because it would have gone deeper then. Adrik’s demons were out to play.I was still in my thoughts when I felt my left ear being tickled by something. I turned quickly to find Chad working my ear with a leaf that he had picked from the ground. After the incident last night, Chad had taken me home and left after making sure that I was okay and that I had all I needed to sleep well, including a light kiss on my lips. This afternoon, he had come to sneak me out of the mansion into one of our spots in the woods where according to him, no one ever comes and Adrik’s spies would never locate eas

~Amara~I moaned into his mouth as the pressure of his kisses intensified, making my core throb and turn to jelly. My fingers crawled from his strong back up to his soft hair to bunch in them while his hands slipped from the nape of my neck to slide underneath my dress. His kisses made me giddy and I couldn’t tell if it was from his pheromone or my body just reacting naturally to him. But whatever it was, this feeling was so good and I wanted it to last as long as it could. His lips left mine and trailed a path down from my neck to the cleft of my breasts. It lingered there for a moment, his hands sliding up to cup one breast. I squirmed when his fingers unclasped my bra and pinched a nipple.I wanted more.I turned and straddled him, throwing my head back to grant him more access to my body. A guttural groan escaped his lips and made me water even more in my core. I never knew that a man’s moan had that kind of power over me. I suddenly wanted him to keep on moaning. I wanted to hear

~Amara~My eyes cracked open, the overhead lights blinding me and making me shut them again. I felt like a bag of potatoes, unable to move my hands or legs. Trying again, I opened my eyes again, slowly this time to get accustomed to the blinding light. My eyes roved around the room and I quickly recognized that it was the pack hospital.“Hello? Is anyone there?” I cracked out, hoping for Chad or anyone to appear but my voice was lower than a whisper. I also felt a little groggy and by the cup that I saw on the bedside table, I figured that they must have injected me with some kind of drug. The pain in my belly was gone now and I felt perfectly okay apart from the little insistent headache gnawing at my temple.I raised myself on one arm and looked around again. There was definitely no one. I sat up and straightened my spine, cracking my neck to alleviate the pain that I felt there.Crack. And it was all better. I guess that was one of the perks of being a werewolf. The more I stayed

~Amara~“Well, well, if it isn’t Adrik’s whoring slave doing what she knows how to do best’, Katherine spat, her eyes sweeping over me with a hatred that she didn’t try to hide.I quickly disengaged my hand from Chad’s own, still shocked at her sudden appearance. Everyone in this Pack seemed to have developed one or two habits when it came to me. For Katherine, sneaking up on me and showing up when she’s least expected is the perfect one that she had chosen. Her gaze slid from me to Chad who still stood stoically by my side, looking unbothered by her. Secretly, all I wanted to do at that point was beg the ground to open up so that I could hide inside of it. But for how long was I going to keep on hiding from Katherine and her gimmicks? For some reason, she seemed to enjoy keeping me on my toes so much.“I see you’ve decided to keep on showing up here even when you have no business to do around. If you’re looking for your dear alpha Adrik, perhaps you should try some other omega’s room

~Lucian~The cardinal points meet in my head as I turn around restlessly on my bed, trying to figure out how the hell Adrik had been able to talk to me in that manner. He had been just too confident of himself. Even when I’d used my power as an alpha king to threaten him, he was unabashed, like I was bluffing. Maybe it’s time I truly let him understand the fact that I am his king and I rule over the entire pack in this kingdom while he is only a subordinate. His sly face flashed before me again, making my irritation grow more. That bastard really is hiding something because there was nothing else that could give him so much confidence. And what’s more? He knows that whatever thing he is hiding is important to me and I wouldn’t risk him destroying it.My mind wandered far and near, trying to make collections of all the valuables in the entire kingdom and most especially, the Pack that I lead. I made a mental list of all the gold, spices, and ammunition that were available and nothing w

~Lucian~I watched her slowly walk backward to the sofa, her eyes trained on me the entire time. I sat back on the bed and watched keenly, as she sat and slowly brought her legs up to the sides of the chair, spreading them slightly.“Wider”, I growled. She obeyed and allowed her legs to go a bit farther than they were, opening all her secret passages to me. My cock bobbed, appreciating the beautiful sight before it.“So what are you gonna do now? Or do you want to keep on staring at me?”, Amara purred.I would watch her all day without batting an eye but I wanted something else at this point. I wanted to watch her pleasure herself. I wanted to see how her face contorts when the pleasure hit her in ways that she couldn’t control.“Yes, I wanna watch you…touching yourself”.Her eyes glowed, and I couldn’t tell if it was her wolf or if my brain had kinda magnified her eye color due to the scent of her arousal. With her eyes still on me, she traced her fingers from the rings of her neck t

~Lucian~I opened the door and glared at Elsie then to the curly head pouting beside her. I thought that this girl had gone back to her pack. What the hell is she doing here, depriving me of the most beautiful dream that I’d ever had?“I’m so sorry for disturbing your rest, alpha; but Lily would not take it when I told her that you were unavailable to speak with her. She almost tried to barge into your chambers”.“I already sent her away the last time. Why is she still here?” I directed my question to Elsie but the curly head piqued into our conversation.“I knew that you were just in a bad mood when you gave the order, alpha. That is why I came back. And I really wanted to talk to you”, she bowed her head slightly when she finished talking.Frustration from nowhere shook my body. I nodded to Elsie to let her be and go about her normal duties. Lily must have seen the anger radiating from me because she immediately hung her head down when my eyes went to her.“State your mission or le

~Lucian~I stared at Marcus as his words hit me.That was it. Amara could have been pregnant with my baby when she ran away from here. But I just couldn’t understand why she would run away when she was already pregnant if that was why she was sold to me in the first instant. Her job was to make sure that I got a baby from her and she just decided to run away after finding out that she was pregnant?“Think about it. Her escape was carefully planned. It took weeks to actualize and she obviously had the help of someone in the kingdom. Since you found out that she was missing, you haven’t been yourself and now, you’re starting to have intense dreams about her”.Marcus was right. Since that day that I came back from attending to matters of the pack to find her room empty, I’d never been the same. I always attributed it to the fact that I was starting to grow a little comfortable around her but I knew that was a lie. Something else tugged at the back of my mind; something that I’d tried to

~Amara~The room was a blur of soft, golden light and muted shadows as I opened my eyes. My mind felt like it was wading through fog, heavy and uncertain. I was unable to piece things together in the smallest ways, and it made my brain feel like it had a work sensory overload. The faint crackle of fire reached my ears, its warmth chasing away a cold that must have settled in my bones. But…where was this?Even through my haze, I could tell that this wasn’t a place that I’d been in before. It looked foreign. It smelt foreign.I blinked, my gaze sweeping over the unfamiliar surroundings. Where was I? The walls, painted in warm earth tones, held no answers. A large armchair stood near the bed, and in it sat a man slouched forward, his head resting on the edge of the bed that I lay on.Why does it feel like I had the whole world resting on my hand? Did I perhaps add a whole lot of weight while in this unfamiliar territory? With a bit of effort, I looked down at my hand and realized the

~Lucian~I raised my hands in surrender, wondering what could have gone wrong the few days that she had been asleep.“It’s me, Amara. It’s Lucian.”“You,” she spat, her body quaking with sobs. “It was you. You killed all those people. You want to kill my child. You killed Chad. You killed my friend. You!”There was definitely something wrong somewhere. How could she mistake me for Adrik, of all people?“Baby, please, stop. You need to calm down,” I said, slowly reaching for me.“I’ll only be able to calm down once you’re dead. By my hand. You devil!”I stood, more confused as Amara charged toward me, her fury a whirlwind of raw emotion. Her yells sliced through the air, accusing me of things so heinous I could hardly process them. Chad’s murder? Threatening our unborn pup? It wasn’t me—it could never be me. But how would I convince her when she was like a furious bear?“Amara, stop! It’s not me who did all those things to you. It’s Adrik! I would never intentionally hurt you like tha

~Lucian~My heart thrummed loudly as I held her hand, praying that she would be in perfect health when she wakes up. I still couldn’t forgive myself for all that had happened to her, but I wouldn’t have even survived blaming myself if she had succeeded in killing herself.I couldn’t help but wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t decided to follow her after I saw Adrik and his guards moving suspiciously. Whatever could have made her decide to cut her wrist and bleed away?My eyes went to the slash mark on her wrist. It was faint now and was healing just fine. The herb that Georgia had applied to it worked perfectly. But it has been three days now and she was yet to wake up. I was starting to get more anxious as the hours ticked by.“Don’t you think you should get some rest now? You’ve not left her side for three days. We wouldn’t want to have two ailing werewolves on our hands,” Selene, the alpha of the Pack who had helped us, said.I turned to look at the middle-aged, kind-looki

~Amara~I couldn’t run anymore. I was out of breath, and my stomach was cramping badly. I could still hear the chaos behind us even as Chad held my hand tightly while we ran.“C-Chad, I-I don’t think I can do this anymore. I can’t run anymore” I gasped, slipping my hand off Chad’s and crumbling to the ground. He immediately came to me and knelt beside me, his eyes searching mine with urgent intensity. He felt my forehead and cursed softly under his breath. The curse became even louder when his eyes fell on my legs.“You’ve been hit by an arrow. Possibly poisoned, by the look of the surface area. Hold on, I’ll take it off.”He laid me on my back and held up my leg. I watched him, almost unconsciously as he asked if I was ready. No, I wasn’t ready. Not for anything. Not now or ever. I just wanted to have a semblance of peace in my life. Why was that so hard? Why couldn’t the moon goddess grant me that one wish?I screamed as I felt the arrow sliding out from my flesh. Almost immediatel

~Amara~When the third arrow grazed my cheek, Chad quickly stood and grabbed my hand. Taking one long look at Lydia, I mouthed “I’m sorry” and prepared to flee. But our pursuers were already unto us.Immediately we turned, we saw that we had been surrounded on all sides by werewolves. They snarled as they slowly closed in on us, their eyes burning, and their mouth drooling. I didn’t need a seer to tell me that they were Adrik’s men. He had finally caught onto our plans.“You really think you could run away so easily from me?”I swung around and there was Adrik standing in the circle that the werewolves had created. His countenance was furious and there and then, I understood that our chances of getting out of this were slim.Chad pulled me behind him and came in front of me, trying to shield me from Adrik’s fury. But that was a stupid gesture. A brave one, but also stupid. Adrik could only be so angry with me, but for him, he would be double furious with him.Lydia groaned again, and

  • The Alpha's Runaway Breeder   Chapter 73: The escape

~Amara~It was the signal, the one I’d been waiting for. The Hollow Ball that Adrik held wavered and then vanished, along with the shimmering lights and strange haze of power that had filled the room. He rose to his feet, his gaze dark as he turned to me.“Omega, stay here. Guards!” he barked, calling them to his side. “I’ll deal with whatever this is.”I nodded, forcing myself to look as calm as possible even though my pulse was racing. As soon as Adrik left the room, my instincts took over, and I darted for the door, every nerve on fire with anticipation. Chad would be waiting for me. I could hardly believe that soon we’d be free of this place, but I knew every second counted.Apart from that fact, I didn’t want Lucian blocking me or even trying to talk about what happened in the past. I wasn’t up for that at all. All I wanted was to get to where Chad was in one piece.I was halfway down the hall when a figure appeared, blocking my path. I gasped, thinking that it was one of Adrik’s

~Chad~“Fire! Fire!!”The second I heard the alarm, I knew it was time for me to act fast. I couldn’t waste any more time because I can’t tell how long it would be before Adrik finds out that this was a fake alarm. My body reacted faster than my mind could, every nerve alive despite the gnawing pain that felt like fire under my skin. It didn't matter. Pain had become the background music of my life in this place, and I’d learned to ignore it. What mattered now was getting out. With a shaky breath, I forced myself to my feet and patted around the corner of the floor for the small key Lydia had smuggled in. She’d risked everything to get it to me, and I wasn’t about to waste her efforts. My hands trembled as I slotted it into the lock, the heavy, rusted door clicking open with a sound that was somehow both too loud and too soft. I slowly pushed the heavy iron door open, waiting a moment to see if anyone would notice by any chance that a prisoner’s door has been opened. The corridor o

~Amara~As I stepped into the grand ballroom, my heart felt like it was about to leap out of my chest. The room was filled with elegantly dressed guests, laughter, and music that floated through the air. Every flicker of a candle seemed too bright, every footstep around me too loud. I kept reminding myself to breathe, to appear composed, but with the weight of what I was supposed to do, it was a bit hard to pretend.Adrik had told me that he wouldn’t have any need for me until the dinner starts, so that mean that I have enough time to plan my movements carefully. I just hoped that I wouldn’t need to make it to that dinner before I get my cue to escape with Chad. My freedom was so close and I could smell it. Soon enough, I would be able to know how it felt to have my freedom. And it wouldn’t be just about me. It would also be about my child.I smiled, my hand going to my belly instinctively. This baby wouldn’t live the kind of life that I’ve led. He won’t have a mother who will sell hi

  • The Alpha's Runaway Breeder   Chapter 70: I’ll help you

~Amara~I stood in front of the mirror in my room, the dress that Adrik had picked out for me clutched in my hands.Tonight is the night. This is the night that will either make or mar me.This is the night that I get my freedom, and together with the man that I love. This is the night of the Hollow Ball.I was excited at the thought of finally leaving this hellhole and going somewhere far away from this kingdom. Chad and I have sometimes talked about the possibility of settling in the human world, and it had sounded like a good plan. All we needed to do was make sure that no one suspects our identity. We’ll just blend in and make sure to avoid staying outside on full moons. But then again, I still couldn’t shake off the feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach. It felt as if I was about to embark on a suicide mission. As if this was the most foolish thing to do. A part of me screamed at me to abandon this plan and live as peacefully as possible with alpha Adrik instead of putting my
