Alexander's POV

I couldn't believe what was happening before my eyes. We been annihilated by the same rogue werewolf pack that are usually scared of us. We used to be a known ready pack, but nothing could have prepared us for what happened. Annabelle was trying to get to us and she had something to tell us before a werewolf out of nowhere came and lunged at her. I saw his claws sinking into her skin, and my heart sunk. I knew we were in trouble.

Laura had froze up for a while and even cried when she went over to where Annabelle was. While she was there, all that came to my mind was when my pack will arrive and probably have a chance to fight back since it was just the rogue wolves.

Then, all of a sudden, I heard Laura's voice screaming in the distance, and at first, I thought she was scared. But then, I saw her coming towards us at full speed, her eyes glowing with a fierce determination. The white wolf unleashed, I was lost in admiration as I saw her. We had been training Laura, but

Dominique's POVI stood on the porch of Alexander's house, the sunlight reflecting off my dark fur as I surveyed the aftermath of the battle. The scent of blood and smoke filled the air, a sickening mixture that left a bitter taste in my mouth.Behind me, my pack members were busy scavenging the area, claiming whatever resources they could find. It was a good haul - Alexander's pack had been strong for a while, but they were no match for us this time. With the pack dead, it was easy to take over their territory.I licked my lips, savoring the taste of victory. It had been a long time coming - Alexander and his pack had been king since the days of his father till his father hang over to him. for months. But now, he was gone, and everything he had was mine.“Dominique,” I heard someone call out. I turned to see my second-in-command, Ryan, approaching me. “We've searched the area and even deep into the woods, but we can't find Alexander or Laura.”My ears perked up at the mention of Laur

Clara's POVI didn't know what to do when Dominique asked me to run away before the fight. I mean, I knew I had betrayed my pack by sharing our secrets with him and his rogue werewolves, but I wasn't comfortable backing out from the fight when I was mainly the brain behind it. It showed me more reason why I have to be an alpha of my own and detach myself from all these male superiority. I decided to hide instead, to see how things would turn out. From the shadows, I watched as my former pack engaged in battle with Dominique and his rogue werewolves. It was brutal and bloody, but I was surprised at how well my pack was holding up. They may have been outnumbered, but they were fierce and determined.Dominique, on the other hand, was wild and unhinged. He attacked with reckless abandon, not caring who he hurt or killed in the process. I felt a pang of regret for ever trusting him, but I knew it was only a matter of time before I take him out and run things my way.As the fight progressed

Alexander's POVI sat opposite Laura, watching her as she stared off into space, lost in her own thoughts. I had hoped that our journey back to the hideout would have given her time to process the events that had just transpired, but from the looks of it, she was still in shock.I sighed and leaned forward, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Laura, come back to me. I know it's hard, but I need you to be here with me, please babe." I said softly.Laura turned her head slightly to look at me, tears still rolling down her cheeks. "I can't believe she's gone. I can't believe it's all over," she whispered hoarsely."I know, love. I know," I said, my heart aching for her. "But you have to remember that Annabelle died a hero. She gave her life trying to save you, and she almost saved us in the process."Laura shook her head, disbelief and grief etched on her face. "I know, but it still doesn't make it any easier, how will I even tell my parent?" she whispered.I scooted closer to her and wrapp

Alexander's POVTogether, we set off into the night, apart from Laura, she wasn't herself, so I couldn't let her come. I just left her in the hideout with another girl in the pack to keep her company. As we go our wolf senses on high alert. We had to find Chris before it was too late.As we ran through the woods, I could hear the sound of snarling and growling in the distance. It was clear that we were getting closer, and fast. We picked up our pace, each of us taking the lead as we pushed through the brush and over fallen logs.I could hear Chris's voice on the phone, weak and fading. It was a race against time, against our enemies, because if they found him before us, they'd make sure they don't make any mistakes again, and a race against fate itself."Chris!" I yelled into the phone, my voice echoing through the woods. "We're coming for you! Hang on, buddy. Hang on!"Then the call went dead, leaving a silence that swept over me like a cold wave. My heart threatened to stop beating,

Dominique's POVI couldn't believe what had just happened. Clara had turned down my proposal to be my mate, not really turned down, but it seemed so to me. I had never been so angry in my life, not even when I got turned down by Laura. I had put myself out there, opened up my heart, and she had just brushed it off like it was nothing, telling me she'd think about it.I looked at her sitting across from me and tried to hold back my anger that night, my imagination got a hold of me. "So, what do you say?" I asked, trying to keep my voice even."I'd think about it," she replied, and that's when my anger boiled over."I didn't ask you to think about it. I asked you to be my mate," I said, my voice rising. "Do you not understand what that means?"Clara stared at me, her eyes wide with surprise. "Of course I do. It's a big decision.""Then why can't you make it? What's so difficult about it?" I demanded.Clara looked down at her hands, fiddling with her fingers for a moment before looking b

Clara's POVI walked to and fro in my room, wringing my hands together nervously. Dominique had just proposed to me to become his Mate, and now I was in a dilemma. On one hand, accepting his proposal would mean giving up my dreams of becoming an alpha, but on the other hand, it could secure my position in the pack and give me more power. As I paced back and forth, I couldn't help but think of Betty, one of the rogue werewolves that was saved in the old factory where we thought Laura and Alexander were. I had gotten a bit close to her since she arrived, she had suggested I accept Dominique's proposal. She was as ambitious and hungry for power as I was, and I couldn't help but wonder if she had her own agenda in pushing me towards accepting.I shook my head and tried to push her thoughts out of my head. I needed to think about my own future and what was best for me. But it wasn't an easy decision to make. Being an alpha meant everything to me. It was my dream, my goal since Alexander wo

Dominique's POVI just finished my morning run in the forest when Betty approached me with a worried look on her face. "Dominique, we need to talk," she said, pulling me aside."What's wrong?" I asked, concerned."It's Clara," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I think she's after your position as alpha."My heart dropped at her words. "What do you mean?" I asked, trying to keep my tone steady."She's been talking to me since I got close to her like you asked," Betty explained. "She's been saying things like how you're not fit to lead and how she would do a better job."I was shocked. I couldn't believe that Clara could do something like this."Don't worry, I'll take care of it," I said, patting Betty on the shoulder. "Just keep an eye on her and let me know if you hear anything else."As Betty walked away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal. I always doubted her and hence, one of the reasons why I asked her to be my mate, to keep my enemies close.I couldn't shake

Alexander's POV I went out for a walk in the woods. I sighed deeply as I walked through the woods leading to our hideout, my mind heavily burdened with the state of my pack. The last few weeks have been tough on all of us since Chris was almost killed by a rogue werewolf. He had barely survived, but his recovery had taken its toll not just on him but the entire pack. For starters, the new pack dynamics had set us on edge, and we were all jittery around each other. It was as if no one trusted anyone anymore, and being the alpha, it was up to me to find a solution to this mess. I couldn’t let our pack be at the mercy of rogue wolves or other unfriendly werewolves. I approached our hideout and noticed the gate was wide open. That was odd. I walked in and could tell something was off as the pack members milled around not doing much of anything. There was no training, no patrolling, no preparations for battle, nothing! I stormed towards the front steps as I scanned the crowd for any si

And I want to be part of the pack's success," I explained.Mike sighed, his eyes filled with concern. "I understand that, Laura, but we need someone to stay back, and that someone is you. Alexander trusts me to keep you safe while he's gone, and I can't let him down."I could see determination written all over Mike's face, and I knew that it was pointless to argue with him. However, deep down, I still wished I could go with the others.I sprang to my feet and started scanning the room for my things. My backpack was still sitting in the corner where I had left it. I grabbed it and pulled out a flashlight, some food, and a bottle of water. I slung the backpack on my shoulder and jogged outside. Mike kept, bugging me and followed me outside. Our den was surrounded by thick woods. The air carried a heavy scent of earth and pine needles. The sun was full scorch, and its light was bright enough

Dominique's POVI never believed in mercy. I was born an alpha, raised to be strong, fierce, and deadly. Compassion was a weakness, one that I had no intention of indulging in as I stared down at Alpha Marcus, bloodied and bruised, his pack cowering behind him in fear.He had been my prisoner for days, and despite my best efforts, he had refused to divulge any information about the whereabouts of Alexander. There had been moments of intense pain, moments when I glimpsed something in his eyes, something that hinted at knowledge of Alexander's movements, but he had remained stubborn, remaining silent, refusing to give in to the pain.Beating upon beating, different styles of interrogation and tutoring done, but he wouldn't bulge. That wasn't the case today. Today, as I looked down at him, I saw something different in his eyes, a desperation that was both unfamiliar and uncomfortable to witness. With one final burst of strength, he pushed himself up from the ground, his breath coming in

Laura's POV I stood in front of the punching bag, sweat dripping down my face, my fists tightly wrapped in gloves. Despite the pain that came with throwing each punch, the steady rhythm of it brought a sense of calm to my mind. It was the only way I knew how to deal with the hurt that my family had inflicted upon me after I visited them to tell them about Annabelle's death. They had blamed me for what had happened to her. The accusations had rained down upon me like a torrential storm, leaving me feeling battered and bruised. It was unfair, unrealistic, and, to be blunt, cruel. I knew deep down that it wasn't my fault, that I had done everything in my power to be there for her, but their words lingered like a festering wound, refusing to heal. I shook my head, focusing on the bag as I threw a punch. The sound of the impact echoed across the gym, and I welcomed it, appreciating the release of energy that came with it. I felt eyes on me and turned to see Alexander watching me from the

Chris's POV I sat in my cabin, staring at the empty room. The silence was deafening. For years, the pack had been my family, their howls and laughter more soothing than any symphony. But that had all changed when Dominique attacked us. The pack was decimated, and our once prosperous territory was now a barren wasteland filled with people who didn't own the territory. My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps outside the door. I knew it was Alexander. He entered the room with a grave look on his face, and I immediately sensed that something was wrong. "What's the matter, Alexander?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm. "It's about the pack, Chris," he said, his voice heavy with emotion. "I spoke to the other alphas, but they refused to help us rebuild. They said they have their own problems to deal with." I let out a sigh. This was worse than I had expected. Without the support of the other alphas, it would be almost impossible to rebuild the pack. I thought if Ale

Alexander's POVIt was a rainy evening, and I was sitting on the couch waiting for Laura to come home. I had a bad feeling about her visit to her parents, especially after what had happened in the past and how they maltreated Laura.I listened to the sound of the rain tapping on the window, and soon heard the door opening. Laura walked in, and my heart sank as I saw tears in her eyes. I stood up and walked towards her, holding her close as she broke down in my arms."What happened?" I asked, my heart tight with worry."My father blamed me for Annabelle's death," she whispered amid sobs.I knew this was coming, but I couldn't help feeling angry at her father for putting her through this pain once again. I held her tight, trying to soothe her."Shh... It's alright, Laura. He doesn't know what he's saying," I said, trying to calm her down."But what if it's true? What if I am to blame?
