SYLVIA'S POV

We walked into the pack house, the little girl Vani,. Wont quit clinging on me. I'm beginning to love her already and her dad, I don't have much to say about the Alpha.

" They are rules guiding the pack house! You are expected to abide by all of them or you would be punished equally like every other wolf, " Hailey said, after we stepped into the pack house before walking away.

It's obvious she is jealous of you, because you got a mate and she doesn't!, My wolf scoffed.

" Don't worry about Hailey, she will come around sometime. Not all the time though" Vani whispered the last part.

" Hailey , isn't really friendly with my visitors most especially, if they end up to be women. She would come around though! " The Alpha smiled.

" Daddy you smiled, okay... There is no one here, so what's the secret? Is she your long lost lover? Come on daddy tell me, I'm so curious right now!" She asked curiously.

" She is my mate dear!" I replied, she gasped in surprise. She went on her knees facing the ceiling.

" Thank you moon goddess for answering my prayer!" She said dramatically.

" You are so funny!" I giggled.

" She is a pretty daddy, I can't help but be a Grateful daddy! I'm so glad, the moon didn't give you an orga as a mate. I would have chosen to hide in my room all day." She said, making us burst into laughter.

" Come on dear, I will show you to your room!" She said excitedly.

" Hey, Vani. Don't tell anyone about my mate's arrival , okay? That should be our little secret! Pinky promise?" I asked, bringing out his Pinky finger.

" Pinky promise daddy!" She did the same, before leaving the throne room.

We head up the stairs, the pack house is filled with different rooms. I can't help but wonder about the number of people who actually live here.

" Here we are!" She said opening a room made of bronze.

" Wow!" I exclaimed in surprise, the room was painted in white and decorated with green just as I always dream.

" Do you like it?"

" I love it!" I replied.

" Daddy, made it specially for you, he believed that his mate would also be fond of his favorite color which is green." She said hurriedly.

" I'm sorry, to ask Vani. What about your Mum? " I asked, diverting her mood instantly.

" You don't have to be afraid aunty...emmm..."

" Sylvia, it's Sylvia dear!" I smiled.

" Wow, what a beautiful name for a beautiful lady!" She complimented, my cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

" You don't have to be scared though, it's all good. My dad and mom were both Married and died in a battlefield long ago. I was just a baby then, that's where daddy came to pick me up and raised me like his own. Daddy hasn't really been in a relationship before I guess. I haven't asked him though, he is over six HUNDRED years though!" She announced, leaving me in shock.

" The moon goddess merged me with a six HUNDRED years old Alpha?" The words escaped my lips.

" Yes, I know. And that's awesome, daddy is happy he met you. I can tell that he has been praying for a mate since all these while."

" The words that leave your mouth are greater than a twelve years old." I said, drawing her cheeks.

" Everyone says that, including daddy. That's enough, what do you want to know about my dad? His favorite food? Favorite color? Oh. I told you that already? His favorite places? His..”

" Hailey? About Hailey!" I answered, simply.

" Oh! I don't really know much about Hailey though, her dad was my dad's most trusted Beta years ago. He died in a battlefield while taking in an arrow that was meant for my dad. Hailey took over her dad's position after that day." She answered innocently.

" Is that all? It seems she is really close to your dad. She is the only one who talks to him without a fear in her eyes and that's quite impressive."

" I heard some rumors but I can't tell how true they are." She said in a low voice. " I heard that Hailey kind of liked my dad and even went to the extreme of putting a substance in his drink. They got intimate. I believe her goal was to get pregnant for Daddy but the moon goddess has her plans too." She smirked, as I burst into laughter, amused by her words. I don't think the Alpha knows her age, she is clearly bigger and smarter than a twelve years old kid.

" How old are you?" I decided to ask for confirmation.

" My dad believes that every year which passes I turn twelve. I'm twelve years old to everyone, meanwhile I'm an adult teenager, I'm sixteen!"

Her reply struck me in the stomach in an undetectable way, causing it to knot itself. Are you saying that you are... ?

With a tone of contempt, Vani interrupted me, saying, " I'm expecting a mate in the next mating section, it's going to be a shock to daddy."

My heart hurt at what she said. " Are you planning on leaving your dad and I here? It's going to be a boring moment for us"

"Are you serious about this Sylvia? They're going to be pup running around this palace before that moment" she chuckled. .

With a disappointing tone, I said, Seriously! Is that what you think? The king loves you so much, he would be devastated.

" He won't, I mean, he would for a short period of time but he would learn to live that way. I'm so glad, the moon goddess brought you in at the right time.

So that was her plan all along huh?

"Sylvia! Come on! Don't give me that look, even if the moon goddess decides to prolong my meeting with my mate, I will someday." She held my hands with a smile on her face.

"Yes, Princess Vani," I said jokingly, kissing her knuckles.

" Sylvia, there is something you need to know about Hailey! You need to stay away from her! “
