"It's not what you think," I say firmly, even though it's exactly what Amelia thinks. But I am not about to confirm it for her.

"I see how Alpha Xavier favors you over everyone else. I am not blind, Sylvia. But it's okay. I don't blame you for clinging to him. He is a powerful man, and he will give you things no one else can't," Amelia said.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Amelia. But I can't stay here and chat all day," I say, keeping my guard up.

"Oh, of course. I will let you get back to work," she says and steps aside.

As I walk away from Amelia, I can feel her eyes burning into my back.

'Amelia is a bitch and she needs to be taught a lesson,' Lilliana says to me.

"I am not teaching anyone anything. I just want to get through the day," I scold her.

'Oh, Sylvia. I think it is best that you tell everyone that Alpha Xavier is your mate, and you have every right to be with him,' Lilliana says.
