My mom shot me a cold look, clearly annoyed that I had disobeyed her request to stay upstairs.

Despite her insistence, my curiosity about the meeting between her and the alpha consumed me. I tried to stay quiet and composed in my bedroom, but I couldn't.

She was taking longer than necessary, and I had to head downstairs to know what they were discussing.

Upon entering, I saw Mom smiling, a good sign that the discussion was positive. But when she saw me, she gave me a "you're so stubborn" look and stood up.

She turned to D'Angelo and said, "I guess it's time to leave you two to discuss."

He nodded, and I moved aside to let her go. I was glad the place was dark, despite feeling a little awkward being alone with the Alpha.

Although werewolves have enhanced vision, I was sure no one was around. Even if someone was, D'Angelo was the alpha, and no omega could question him.

He patted the chair where my mom had just left and said, "Sit."
