It's been ten whole years ever since Leroi became an Alpha, that was something he had not planned for after all, he was only sixteen years old. Having a sixteen-year-old lead the pack was something unheard of, not just any pack but Shadow moon pack.

"Why do you look so stressed up?" Robin Mane asked.

Leroi silently stared at Robin his best friend and the beta of the pack.

"What, are you still thinking about it? It's been ten years Leroi you have to move on you can't live like this why don't you find your mate," He teased.

"Why should I?" Leroi replied sternly. Robin stared at him but he was no longer shocked.

He was 26 years old but he still had fenced his heart it couldn't be denied that he was a ruthless and brutal man, but no one knew him more than his best friend probably only friend Robin. He seemed proud and ruthless but only he knew how soft and tender-hearted he was, his hatred for the rogues was more than anyone could imagine, just thinking of that made him shiver slightly.

"Where are you going to?" Robin said staring at his retreating back.

"To take a walk," He replied as he walked.

"I'll walk with you," He replied but Leroi didn't bother to reply he let him do as he wished. They walked side by side silently just enjoying each other's company until they arrived at the river bank. They silently stared at the flowing river. This was his land, the river was the shadow moon pack's boundary or better yet his father's land. Taking walks had become part of his daily norm, he would stare at the flowing river for a while before retreating back to the palace.

"What is that?" Robin said staring at a particular place as he narrowed his eyes, "Wait, it looks like a person, a girl lets go check her out," He strode towards her without waiting for Leroi's reply.

Robin bent down and then stared at the girl who looked like she was in her early twenties her red hair, freckles nose, and cheeks, and couldn't help but sigh. She was indeed very beautiful but from her face and clothes, she seemed to have gone through something difficult these past few days so he turned to Leroi.

At that time, Leroi had just arrived. He stared at the sleeping girl with thoughts wandering around his head. Where had she come from? He couldn't deny that the girl was indeed very beautiful despite the marks on her face and had just the right curves maybe she can be his new fuck buddy he thought but after a while reality hit him after seeing her slightly wet clothes which had dried a bit.

She was a rogue and his gaze was instantly dark, cold, and distant as he stared at the sleeping Erica. Seeing his gaze Robin knew something the young girl was a rogue. Leroi immediately turned around walking away from her and he looked like he had no plan of helping her. Robin panicked slightly.

"Leroi, we can't just leave her here she might be in danger,"

"Why should I care? Have you forgotten or should I remind you?" He replied coldly. Of course, he had not forgotten the rogues had killed his parents that's why he hated them with his life so how could he just let this girl into his land?

Erica heard the loud noise beside her and then slowly woke up. She stared at the two men who were bickering at each other.

"Are they arguing about me?" Erica thought so she adjusted herself and then sat staring at their backs "maybe they could help me, at least they wouldn't just leave me here, right?"  Thinking of that she had a little hope in her.

"Hi, who are you guys?" Erica spoke and the two men turned their heads toward her.

"Mate,"

"Mate," They replied one after the other in shock. Erica felt relieved just thinking of that, of course her parents had once informed her and heard stories about meeting your mate. She had not thought it through who knew she would find her mate when she was in danger? She heaved a sigh of relief but that ended sooner than it had started.

"Moon god what did I do to deserve her as a mate?" Leroi thought. His worst enemy was his mate wasn't that laughable? No that won't change a single thing he thought.

"What are the odds, a Rogue and an Alpha," Robin said in mockery as he burst out in laughter.

"So, my mate is an Alpha," Erica thought. It couldn't be denied that she was slightly happy wait "Is he from the Shadow moon pack?" She thought out loud. Robin and Leroi stared at her in shock who didn't know the Shadow moon pack?

"Oooh, let me introduce ourselves formally..." Before he could continue, Leroi opened his mouth "Why are you introducing yourself to someone like her,"

Robin ignored him and continued," This is Leroi Dwayne the Alpha of the Shadow moon pack, I Am Robin Mane the beta," He paused staring at Erica seemingly waiting for her to introduce herself which she did.

"I'm Erica Michaels, nice to meet you," she said. She was indeed shocked by the outcome but she tried to remain as expressionless as possible but her mind was a bit chaotic.

She didn't know the Alpha but at least she had heard stories about him. He was brutal, ruthless, and exceptionally smart it was said that he started leading them when he was only sixteen years old, cool right? She thought. But why did he seem like he quite hated her? Was it because she was a rogue? Did he have any problem with her being a Rogue? Was being a Rogue that bad? She couldn't help but ask herself she needed answers. But thinking of being mates with the Alpha she knew he couldn't just abandon her.

After all, it was a rare case where the male mates will reject their female mates.

"Let's go back," Leroi's dark voice rang which brought Erica back to earth.

"What about her?" Robin asked.

"You can keep her or just let her be," he said as he walked away arrogantly.

"What do you mean let her be? Leroi she's your mate," Hearing the word she's your mate Erica nodded in happiness with the Alpha by her side she had enough power to take Alec down. Leroi stared at her and walked forward she disgusted him, he wanted to hate her, her appearance kept reminding him of his parents and his sister's death.

Please don't leave me here," Erica saw that he didn't care nor did he budge, she had one last straw and that was to beg him she knew how to act so that wouldn't be a problem.

Erica looked around before getting on her knees," Take me with you Leroi please they will find me and take me away I don't want to be tortured to death," she said in a panicked voice as tears rolled down her eyes.

"Don't ever call me that name we are not acquainted with each other,"

"Am sorry, Your highness,"

Nothing could escape the Alpha's ears he had long heard about Alec taking over the Rogue's pack and killing most of them, he was a bit happy and relieved by it but that still didn't change the fact that his parents and sister were still gone.

He stared at Erica and couldn't help but feel a bit of remorse she had injuries all over her body life must have been so tough for her, he became slightly angry. No one had the right to torture his mate except him, he became slightly soft-hearted.

"Fine, on one condition," He replied coldly.

"Fine, anything Your Highness,"

"Get up, one you will work for me, two no one should know about us being mates. Are we clear?"

"Yes, Your Highness," She bowed as she replied. At least that would be better than being in Alec's hell-hole prison. Robin was slightly shocked he didn't expect that Leroi would change his mind easily. He had already planned on how he could keep persuading him but he was relieved.

"Let's go, you need a shower," Robin said to Erica.

Ooh no she thought she had not showered in days who knew how much she stank?

"Thank you, Your Highness," She replied politely.

"Just call me Robin don't worry about him he pretends to be so tough but he is soft-hearted." He said almost in a whisper, who knew what Leroi would do when he heard this.

She slightly giggled before replying," I'll take note of that,"

"Don't worry I'll take care of you, no one will dare to bully Her future Highness," Robin said proudly. He knew it was just a matter of time before Leroi would give in to his mate and when that time comes, he would be the happiest person thinking of that he seemed to have found a new motive and that was to bring them together.

Erica decided to try her luck," Why does he hate the Rogues so much?"
