Chapter 168

KYLIAN'S POV

I ran all the way to the police station as fast as I could. My heart pounded and adrenaline coursed through my veins as I stormed toward the station entrance, scanning my surroundings.

Where was she?

My chest tightened as I failed to spot her. I felt the pulse of anxiety within me as I approached the nearest officer whose face was buried in a computer screen.

“Good afternoon,” I forced out, trying to keep my composure.

He barely glanced up, muttering a half-hearted response.

“Have you seen a young woman here today? She—”

“Yeah, yeah,” he cut me off with a lazy flick of his wrist. “She came in about a missing kid or something. Just left, not too long ago.”

His words hit me like a blow to the chest. I froze. “Left? Left where?”

Something in my voice must have snapped him to attention because he finally tore his eyes away from the screen and looked at me properly.

“Uh,” he stammered, “she stepped out with one of us.”

“One of you?” My brow furrowed.

“Yeah,” he nodded, a bit
