5 - The Alpha's sister

Melody's POV

He arched his brow, and I felt Elaine’s entire body go stiff against my back, “he glared down at me, “the hospital, when you …”

Elaine’s breath fanned my ear, “please apologize to him, get this over with before something bad happens, I have a pup at home Mel.”

My anger flared, holding up my hand to him, “okay sorry, alright, sorry for trying to do my job properly, sorry for having you as a patient, sorry for whatever it is you need me to be sorry for, I’m sorry for all of it, is that better now, feel better about yourself, is your ego healed now.”

Yea, I  could have left that ego poke out of it but hey, I’m me, Elaine gasped, and I continued, “excuse me Mr. Dominick,” I pushed up against him as I slid by, “I need a fucking drink after you just made me swallow any pride I had in myself for my career choice in life  and your standing in my way.”  I pulled Elaine past him with me and headed directly for the bar and Steve.  I placed Elaine next to him, grabbed my drink and downed it, “I’m out of here, enjoy your night, this,” I waved my hand around the wall to wall people in the bar, “not happening for me tonight.”

I turned and headed for the door, once outside I took a deep breath, opened my purse and rifled for my keys as I walked towards my car.  I heard the running of heels behind me and then a soft voice, “Melody, wait up.”

I spun and smiled as the beautiful woman that was with Alpha Asshat at the ER came running in her heels at me, “Clair, remember?”

I smiled, “yes, hi Clair.”

She stopped in front of me, “please don’t go, my brother is an asshole at time, but he does have a good heart, deep down, I mean really deep down.”

I chuckled, “well I guess that explains why they had the monitors on him now doesn’t it, were they trying to find it?”

She laughed, “good one, I’ll have to remember that the next time they do something stupid like that again, but really don’t leave, he didn’t mean to upset you, he was going to…”

I tilted my head, “going to what, get me kicked out of my apartment next, he already cost me my job, now this night is ruined, or is he planning on running me out of town,” I shrugged, “I’ll be gone on Monday so he won’t have much of a wait, and hell, if tomorrow wasn’t the full moon, I’d leave then, but I’m not chancing being ganged up on by a bunch of out of control rutting werewolves.” 

Her eyes went wide, “oh goddess, no, no, no,” she shook her head, “none of that, he didn’t get you fired, at least not that I’m aware of.”

I huffed out a laugh, “guess you’re not in the know, or maybe he just doesn’t think enough of woman to allow them to know much,” I shrug, “doesn’t matter, you better go back inside, I see he’s sending the big guns to get you back,” I mumbled, “pathetic play of power, fucking egotistical asshat.”

I hit my fob and opened my door and slipped into the driver’s seat, the passenger door opened, and Clair slipped in, “I’m going with you, come on let’s kick this towns ass wide open and have fun.”

My eyes went wide, “NO, are you kidding, you’re that Alpha’s sister and now I’ll get blamed if you break a nail, or shoe, “ I shook my head, “OUT, get out of my car, I’m going home, this entire week has sucked my life out of me, I can’t do more but,” I looked at her and she was pouting and I smiled, “fuck it, come on little sister let’s fuck up this town.”

I revved the engine and took off past the huge werewolves that were staring at us and laughed, “later boys,” and she howled.  It was a kick ass way to leave a parking lot, and we sped off to another club further into town. 

We walked in and I smiled, “this is more like it, just enough beefcake for sampling and enough room to breathe.”

She giggled, “beefcake?  Is it tasty?”

I laughed as I hooked my arm to hers, “depends, I always find it tasty.”  I ordered me a drink and she ordered hers and a hand slammed on the bar behind me.  I spun and glared at the guy, “problem?”

He smiled, “yea, you never called me back.”

I laughed, “well then why are you bothering me now, if I didn’t call, I didn’t want to.”

He looked over at Clair and he nodded, “princess, you should be careful what you associate yourself with,” he looked at me again.

I shook my head, “and you just asked me why I didn’t call you back, fuck off.”  I grabbed my drink and handed Clair hers, “too all the losers I’ve allowed to touch me once and for all those still to go,” I downed my drink and turned glaring at him, “I’m not ashamed that I fuck men, or the occasional woman, but to think someone like you can try and run me down, think again, I know it hurts but you’re not worth a second go, you were barely worth the first one.”

Clair chuckled and he went to grab me, and she stood in front of me, moving her head slowly side to side, “she’s protected, and you’ll do good to mind those manners Sebastian, you never know who you could be talking too.”

He growled at me, “You’re lucky she’s with you Sabrina, or this would have went a different way.”  I waved my hand at him, turned away, and Clair moved to my side.

“Sabrina?” her eyes narrowed at me.

I giggled and whispered, “yea, I’m known at different bars by different names, keep it interesting and no one knows my real name, so they can never find me, I love the intrigue and mystery of it.”

Clair laughed, “Oh dear goddess, seriously this can’t be happening, this just can’t be, please tell me what did he mean for me to be careful of what I associate with?”

I smiled, “I’m a one and done kind of girl, I’ll only bed a man once, never twice and he certainly isn’t getting my real name.”
