*Knock Knock*

“I’m coming.” Layla replied, throwing on her school bag as she walked to the door and opened it.

“Good— Sylvan?” She blinked, staring at the man who stood at her door instead of Zayne.

“Good morning,” Sylvan said and gave her a small, gentle smile.

“Good morning. Um… what are you doing here? Where is Zayne?” She asked, trying not to sound rude as her eyes peered around for the werewolf. It was the first time someone other than Alaric, Zayne, and unfortunately, Nyssa, had come to her dorm, and it was kind of strange.

“Werewolves and vampires usually have a free day because of the moon, so the headmaster told me to take you to class.” He replied, kicking the invisible stone at his feet.

“Ok,” she nodded, stepping out of her cabin and locking the door.
