DAMIAN

I rushed out of the room the moment I heard Roseanne’s voice. I didn’t want any distractions—finally, I could communicate with her through our bond.

I left Lavinia to Tobias and Kiren, ordering them to keep extracting information from her and not to let her leave my house until I found Roseanne. I just needed to make sure Roseanne was okay, nothing else mattered.

I took a deep breath, focusing on one thing: Roseanne. I could hear her voice in my head, so weak and shaky that she wasn't okay, but she kept trying to call my name.

"Damian..."

I felt my heart pounding. My grip on the table's edge tightened, and I tried to hold back the emotions rising inside me. Closing my eyes, I focused on Roseanne's soft voice.

I was beyond enraged at whoever had reduced Roseanne to this state. Just from her voice alone, I could tell she wasn’t okay. She was clearly in pain, and I had no idea what they had done to her.

"Roseanne, I’m here. I’ll find you."

There was a pause, then a shaky exhale of

DAMIANFrom the chair, Roseanne remained unconscious, her body slumped over with her hands tied, while the knife in Sam's hand pressed against her neck.I could see her short, ragged breaths, proof that she was still alive. That alone was enough to give me some relief, but even so, one wrong move, and she could die right in front of me."Roseanne, please hold on a little longer. I promise I will end all of this, and after that, you will live safely and happily with me. Hold on for me."I sent those words through our bond, hoping she could hear my voice's sincerity.I turned my gaze back to Sam, clenching my fists tightly, trying to hold myself back. I couldn’t act recklessly right now. I had to find an opening to fight Sam without putting Roseanne in danger."I suppose you're here to save your Luna, huh?" Sam sneered, his dark eyes filled with hatred. "The ruthless Alpha Fenrison, bowing down just for an Omega. How weak."I didn’t react. I stared at him coldly.Sam’s words did not aff

ROSEANNEI woke up with my head still feeling heavy, my eyelids slowly opening to welcome the soft light from the hospital room lamp. The distinct antiseptic scent stung my nose, but amidst the smell of medicine, there was something far more comforting—Damian's scent.I turned my gaze to the side of the bed, and there he was. Sitting in the chair beside me, looking exhausted, his eyes remained alert. The wound on his temple was already bandaged, though I could still see a bit of dried blood at the edges. But what frustrated me the most was how he was still here despite the deep injury on his leg that should have been properly treated as well."Damian..." My voice was hoarse, barely a whisper, but his beautiful eyes instantly snapped to mine, as if every second I was conscious was something precious to him."You're awake," Damian’s voice was filled with relief. He immediately leaned closer, his hand reaching out carefully to touch my cheek as if I were fragile. "How do you feel, Rosean

ROSEANNEGrandfather Andreas came to visit me at the hospital.I didn’t know how he found out about all of this, but seeing him standing before me now made me sure that someone had told him about Uncle Sam abducting me.I shot a sharp glance at Kiren. Noticing my gaze, he subtly shook his head as if to say, "It wasn’t me who told him. I don’t know why Grandfather Andreas is here."If it wasn’t Kiren, then who?I turned my head when I felt another hand grasp mine. When I looked, I saw Damian’s small smile—an attempt to reassure me.“What are you doing here, Andreas?” Damian asked coldly.Grandfather Andreas kept his gaze on me. “I just wanted to visit my granddaughter,” he replied casually. The memory of my strained relationship with Grandfather was still fresh in my mind. I also remembered our last conversation when I asked to return to Moonveil. That discussion had gone smoothly, but no warmth was left in it.Even though my relationship with Damian had developed well, I was still ang

DAMIAN“Roseanne, why do you want to talk to Sam Moonveil?” I asked as soon as Andreas left Roseanne’s room. “He has done terrible things to you—you don’t need to see someone as vile as him again.”I didn’t want Roseanne to meet that bastard again after everything Sam Moonveil had done to her. The memory of Roseanne being hurt was still fresh in my mind, and my hatred for Sam was still burning. I wouldn’t ever allow my Luna to see that man’s face again.I already had plans for Sam—unfortunately, Roseanne wouldn’t let me kill him. However, I could make him suffer and torture him severely as payback for what he had done.“Roseanne, you don’t have to see that bastard again. Let me handle him—I’ll make sure he pays for what he did to you,” I continued since my Luna still hadn’t answered.I was still holding Roseanne’s hand tightly, though not hurting her. My gaze was sharp yet gentle as I looked at her.Roseanne let out a deep sigh, something unreadable in her expression. “I need to see U

ROSEANNEAfter a week had passed, I was finally able to leave the hospital since my condition had improved. As I stepped into the Fenrison house with Damian beside me, his hand firmly holding mine, he led me upstairs to the second floor."Why are you bringing me here?" I frowned in confusion as Damian turned right instead of left—where my room was supposed to be.Now, we were standing in front of Damian's room.Damian gave me a small smile and opened the door to his room. "Our relationship has changed. Isn’t it time for you to move into my room?"I silently observed his room. It hadn't changed much since the last time I had snuck in. The only difference was the addition of a few of my belongings, though their colors starkly contrasted with the dark theme of Damian’s room."Are you sure I should start sleeping here from now on?" I asked hesitantly.Damian raised an eyebrow. "Of course. I have no reason to doubt this decision," he said firmly. "Besides, before everything happened, you o

All she can do is beg for forgiveness after what she has done to Roseanne.I don’t understand why Roseanne and Lavinia turned out so different. It would have been much better if Lavinia were as useful as Roseanne. Still, that woman only ever gives me a headache. She’s just as foolish as her own father, Walter Moonveil. They’re all useless.“Grandfather, please don’t punish me! I promise I’ll apologize to Roseanne directly for this matter. I swear I won’t cause any more trouble. ROSEANNE“Luna Roseanne, this is one of the tasks you once assigned to me.”I took the brown envelope that Kiren handed me, my forehead creasing in confusion. “What task? I don’t remember giving you any other assignments. Is this new evidence about my accident?”Kiren immediately shook his head. “No, Luna Roseanne. This is some information about Lyra, Alpha Damian’s former Luna. You once asked me to look into her when you first moved here.”My frown deepened, and I tightened my grip on the large brown envelope without realizing it. “Oh, thank you, Kiren.”Kiren looked at me in confusion—and I knew why. It was because I wasn’t acting like my usual self. Usually, whenever I asked Kiren to investigate something, I would immediately read the information as soon as he finished gathering it.I was the type of person who needed to know everything thoroughly; I couldn’t rest easy if something were left unresolved, no matter what it was. ROSEANNEI stepped forward hesitantly into the underground chamber. The sound of my footsteps echoed along the cold stone corridor, the unpleasant, damp scent filling my senses, making me want to vomit. I hated basements—too eerie and reeking of decay. This underground prison, hidden in the depths of the Fenrison estate, was so silent that even my own breathing sounded unnaturally loud. A Beta guard walked ahead of me, leading me to the cell where Uncle Sam was imprisoned. Several other cells were here, and I could see a few prisoners locked inside. But I didn’t want to know who they were—it was obvious that anyone locked up in this place was Damian’s enemy.Silently, I swallowed hard. Truthfully, I was still afraid to face that man after everything he had done to me. Uncle Sam was a real threat, one who had nearly killed me just weeks ago. Yet here I was, walking straight toward where he was being held to have a conversation. The wounds on my body had healed, but the terrible memorie

ROSEANNEWhile I was lost in thought, contemplating a few things, a deep and heavy voice suddenly broke the silence of our quiet bedroom."Are you satisfied admiring your Alpha's handsome face?"My eyes widened in shock, my heart leaping into my throat, and I froze briefly. Damian let out a low chuckle, clearly aware of how my body tensed in his embrace. He must have realized that I was startled by him waking up so suddenly.Damian slowly opened his eyes, and in the next second, I was met with his dark gaze, fully awake and staring at me intensely. His eyes were still heavy with sleep, a signature look of someone who had just woken up, but there was also a glint of amusement in them, making me instinctively swallow my saliva in nervousness. Yet, the undeniable love I found within those dark irises made me even more flustered.A smirk tugged at the corner of Damian's lips, making me wish I could disappear on the spot.Damn it, since when had he woken up and realized I had been staring

ROSEANNEThe morning light seeping through the cracks of the bedroom window pulled me from what felt like an all-too-short sleep. My eyelids felt heavy, my body stiff and aching in every inch of my skin. I let out a soft groan, realizing that I was still wrapped tightly in Damian’s embrace. Even in his sleep, he refused to let me go.I struggled to adjust my eyes to the light, trying to open them fully. “It must be morning already,” I murmured, noticing the faint glow filtering through the large curtains.I didn’t remember exactly when I had fallen asleep, but it must have been near dawn. Damian hadn’t allowed me to rest early—I had to keep up with him until his rut was over.Shifting my gaze, I looked at Damian’s face beside me. The warmth of his body enveloped my bare skin, making me reluctant to move. It was so comforting that I wanted to spend my entire day just like this, in his embrace.“Argh,” I groaned softly as a familiar ache set in.The moment I tried to shift slightly, pai

DAMIANAbout fifteen minutes later, I caught a faint whiff of the vanilla pheromones I had longed for just as the front door finally opened. I lifted my head quickly, rising from the sofa when I realized Roseanne was home. Without a second thought, I strode toward the door, ready to welcome her as she stepped inside. As soon as the door opened, I saw Roseanne reaching to take off her coat, but I pulled her into my embrace before she could do anything. I didn’t give her a chance to react.I had been waiting too long, and now my patience was thinning. My hands gripped her waist tightly, my body instinctively seeking her warmth. My pheromones must have already filled the room because I felt Roseanne tense slightly before she let out a quiet sigh.“Damian,” she whispered, her voice soothing my heart's wild pounding.I didn’t answer. DAMIANThe realization hit me like a massive blow, snapping me back to full awareness. Damn it, how could I forget that this week was my scheduled rut? But now, instead of being where I should be, I was stuck at the Pack’s residence while Roseanne was far away from me.I needed Roseanne now. I needed my Luna."Alpha Damian, are you alright?" Tobias asked, looking slightly concerned as he observed me. He could probably sense my unease and was beginning to put the pieces together."Shit, Tobias, take me home now," I decided quickly. I had to return before my Alpha instincts took over and made everything even harder.Tobias initially looked slightly confused but understood within seconds, seeing my restless demeanor. "I thought the intensity of your pheromones was triggered by your anger earlier, so I didn’t think much of it. But it turns out… this is your rut, isn’t it, Alpha Damian?""Stop asking ques

Even though you’re married and have an Alpha, I must remain loyal to you,” Kiren instantly replied without a second thought. “I will listen to you more than Alpha Damian.”“Good, then get the car ready now and wait for me downstairs because we’re going to the White Dove Orphanage. ROSEANNEThe next day, Damian left early in the morning because he had important business in the pack that he couldn’t postpone. He instructed Kiren to watch over me as usual while Tobias had to accompany him. This morning, Damian seemed reluctant to leave me—considering that we were still searching for the spy within Fenrison, who was most likely responsible for Uncle Sam’s murder. He didn’t want me to be at home without his supervision. Damian had become very protective of me, not wanting me to end up in another dangerous situation. He even asked me to come with him. I could see how uneasy he was about leaving me behind, so he wanted me to go to Aeternum Pack and stay by his side. However, I understood why Damian was being so protective, especially after hearing his story about Lyra last night. Damian must have been afraid that I would meet the same fate as her.He didn’t want to lose me the way he lost Lyra. But I refused to go because Damian’s absence allowed me to sneak out and i

If you still have questions about Lyra, I can still answer them, Anne.”Even though Damian spoke gently and seemed fine with this conversation, I didn’t want to continue talking about Lyra for now.I never expected Lyra’s story to be so heartbreaking, especially hearing it directly from Damian. He had no hesitation in telling me everything.Maybe Damian seemed fine now, but I was sure that deep down, he must feel a little sad whenever we talked about Lyra. Whether he wanted to or not, Damian had to recall his past with her, and those memories must bring back old wounds and the longing he still felt for her.Losing someone in such a tragic way leaves a scar on the heart. ROSEANNEI had already heard the story about Lyra from Damian’s perspective. Unlike what I had expected, Damian’s story and Tion’s were quite different. I felt a bit confused because it seemed like Tion knew Lyra better than Damian did, even though Lyra was once Damian’s Luna.At this point, there were only two possibilities: either Tion was telling the truth or deliberately trying to mislead me with false information. But if Tion was correct, then Damian didn’t know much about Lyra despite having lived with her as his mate. However, why did Tion know so much about her?‘Was it because they came from the same orphanage, so Tion was close to Lyra?’ I started forming different possibilities in my head, trying to piece together the puzzle I couldn’t solve yet. ‘But Tion seemed to care about her a lot, and I could even feel his sadness when he talked about Lyra’s passing.’I shifted my gaze to look at Damian. My Alpha was also looking at me gently. There was a hint of longing in his eyes
