Dina's POV
Although today had been a complete disaster, I sort of liked laundry day. It was just filling the washing machine and the dryer, alternatively, and hanging everything else up. In between, I could study, which I did a lot these days. And I found myself being very productive…
The doorbell brought me out of my thoughts. I frowned, wondering who it might be. Michael didn’t use the bell (the guy barely knew how to knock!) and the mailman just dropped off his package at the door. I think he was scared of the alpha, which really wasn’t all that surprising: Alpha Stone was one seriously scary guy…
I opened it and, to my surprise, there was a young, pretty blond with huge blue eyes smiling brightly at me. She looked small and innocent but for some reason, had my wolf instantly on alert.
“Hey!” she beamed and held out a hand to me. “I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Angela, Michael’s sister.”
“Oh, hi!” I said, slightly surprised, and took her hand. Because it is the polite thing to do, I told my wolf, who was growling at the interaction. “I didn’t know the alpha was expecting guests---”
“He doesn’t,” she cut me off--- and invited herself in. Brat, I mentally growled but didn’t say it out loud. If she was Michael’s sister, she was probably here all the time, right? Although, I couldn’t remember him having a sister named Angela. Perhaps another recent addition? “I came by to see you,” she continued, as if this was totally normal for her, and turned to me. “You’re really the maid?”
“I really am,” I replied, trying to remain polite, and closing the door behind her. But my wolf was on edge for some reason. Oh, I definitely could take this girl on, I wasn't worried about that. But I couldn’t help but feel like there was something off about her, that made her even more dangerous than a rogue…
“Where’s your outfit?” she asked, her scrutinizing gaze roaming over my day-to-day outfit - jeans and a T-shirt. My jaw dropped. Was this girl for real? Or just hadn’t realized we’d left the Stone Age some time ago?
“Are you serious?” I asked, my eyes wide in surprise. She shrugged sheepishly. Apparently, she was! "I have some dignity, you know!" I couldn't help but growl out.
“Then you definitely don’t know about the rumors going around here,” she started and crossed her arms in defiance. Erm, yes I did! I hadn't stayed here long when the rumors had begun.
Alpha Whore!
Gold Digger.
Power-hungry Bitch...
I didn't care what they said, because sooner or later they'd realize that if I was actually sleeping with Alpha Stone, his scent would be all over me. And from what people LOVED to remind me, I wasn't his type! He liked women with fuller figures, taller, and more athletic. I was short and skinny and my breasts barely filled anyone's hands. Plus, he apparently had a thing for brunettes, and with my raven black hair, I wasn't even in the run. Which made me wonder why all these bitches really felt the need to put me down so much if I wasn't even competition...
I mentally scoffed and rolled my eyes. I may be kind and sweet, but I wasn't a freaking pushover. If they had a problem with me, they could take it up with the alpha. Surprisingly, no one ever did.
Cowardly bitches!
“I never cared much about rumors,” I gripped, before I grabbed the laundry basket with the alpha’s dry and folded clothes, and went upstairs. Much to my surprise and annoyance, Angela followed me. My wolf didn’t like it, and I ended up being so focused on her, I miss the last step and went diving into the loft.
“Oh, bloody hell!” I growled, fighting to regain my balance. Which I did, but my grip on the basket was slipping...
Fucking fantastic!
“You alright?” I heard behind me--- and I wanted to curse at her since somehow this was all her fault!
“Yeah, I’m just a bit clumsy,” I said, trying to get a better grip, using my hurt foot to hold up the basket. It was no use and, while it frustrated me, I knew when to admit to defeat. I groaned and turned to Angela: “Would you mind opening the door?”
“To Levi’s room?!” she exclaimed, as if I'd asked her to sacrifice her firstborn or something...
“Just open it!” I snapped in frustration and she finally did what I told her. I pushed passed her and dropped the basket on the bed before I dropped it. Well, that was one less disaster waiting to happen…
I stretched my sore back. I remember the first time I came in here. My pulse was reaching about a million beats per second. I’d waited until the alpha was home so I could ask him if he expected me to do his laundry as well.
“That’s what a maid does, isn’t it?” he had replied dryly, before grinning widely at my red cheeks. "I'll buy you some gloves if that'll make you feel better." He had and I smiled at the strange memory, while I took in a deep breath. His scent of wood and rain, mixed in with the scent of coffee, tickled my nose. Obviously, it was strongest in his room and office and I’d found it strangely calming. Perhaps it was because my wolf sensed that this was someone stronger than her and she respected that. Wolves rarely respected anything other than strength and power, which was why it was always the strongest leading a pack, regardless if you had an alpha wolf or not...
"You just go in?" I heard Angela ask from the door and I mentally groaned, wishing she could leave already. If she wanted to see Alpha Stone or Michael she had to come back later. Besides, the alpha always insisted that his privacy was kept private. Yet it felt wrong kicking her out if she was family. that made me the outsider here, not her...
“It’s not like it’s the first time I'm in here,” I sighed and walked over to the window.
“The rumors are true,” she gasped, mortified, and I quickly realized she'd jumped to the wrong conclusion.
“I air the rooms,” I snapped, proving my point by closing the windows I’d opened that morning. “I do the laundry, fix dinner, buy the groceries, and--- What are you doing?!”
I turned around to find her going through one of his drawers!
“Snooping,” she replied shamelessly and with a little smirk on her face.
I gaped in shock and for once, I agreed with my wolf.
Bitch had gone too far!
“Get the fuck out!” I growled, feeling my wolf wanting to push forward. She felt protective of the alpha and was ready to show this girl her place. The bloody and messy wolf-way. I marched up to her, grabbed her hand, and practically hauled her ass out of there. She tried to whine, but I cut her off before even the first words left her lips.
“This is Alpha Stone’s private home,” I warned, sticking a finger into her face. “His private things and his private life! How dare you go through his stuff without his permission?”
“Sorry,” she practically whimpered, looking like she was ready to cry. “I didn’t think you’d get all defensive like that.”
Serves her right, my wolf growled into my mind and I mentally shook my head at my wolf. Well, at least I could honestly say that there wasn't a job she didn't take seriously...
Crazy wolf…
I, however, felt a slight notch of compassion for the poor creature. I mean, my wolf could probably eat hers for snacks, but I didn’t want to be a bitch about it.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” I sighed and folded my hands in front of my chest, still glaring down at her. “But you shouldn’t go snooping into his stuff, just because you can.”
She nodded obediently and I walked her downstairs. I know I didn’t have a right to judge, but I was really starting to dislike this girl. I wanted her out of the house and I was pretty sure that Alpha Stone didn’t want her here either. What kind of sister went through her brother's stuff?
Adopted brother, but still...
Then again: if she really was Michael’s sister, she probably had more right to be here than I did.
“So,” Angela said innocently, but the way she looked at me made me feel like I was being interrogated. “Why are you here?”
I mentally groaned. I wanted to grab her neck and throw her out the front door. I can help with that, my wolf quickly offered. I grinned at the imagery.
“It’s complicated,” I replied instead, and went back to the kitchen. 17.10. I needed to get dinner ready.
“Oh?” Angela accused and dragged out the ‘o’ for special effect. Well, at least now I knew her real reason for being here: because of all the juicy rumors going around about me and Alpha Stone.
Yeah, imagine that!
“I’m not in a relationship with Alpha Stone in ANY way, so drop it!” I groaned, annoyed. “It’s my life that’s complicated.”
“How so?” she continued. I sighed. OK, now she was getting under my skin.
Deep breaths and happy thoughts, I chanted inside my head, hoping to calm my wolf, who was growling at her and wanted to give this girl a much-needed spanking.
“It’s complicated,” I repeated and turned to face her. “And I think you should leave now. I have things to do.”
“Are you always this friendly?” she scoffed, as if I’d just offended her. I gritted my teeth. This girl should see me really unfriendly.
“This is the friendliest I get,” I replied coldly.
“Is it true that you used to date Michael?” she continued anyway.
“Yes,” I sighed. Deep breaths and happy thoughts!
“And you and Levi?”
“You mean Alpha Stone?” I deadpanned, making it clear that I was having it with her inappropriate prying. “I don’t think I’ve ever met him until he hired me. Anything else?”
“No,” she said and, as on cue, leaped for the front door. “Well, it was nice meeting you.”
“Sure,” I sneered as the door closed. My wolf scoffed. And for once, I agreed.
Not strange at all…
WARNING: This chapter contains a scene of assault!Dina’s POVMy brain literally felt like mush and was about to drop out of my ears. I groaned and let my head rest against my art table. We were about 2/3 done with this project when Josh and Sherly – another one of my study buddies – suddenly started to argue about the assignment. I happened to agree with Josh on the direction we should take, which resulted in Sherly leaving in a rage. Now it was just me and Josh left and because he was an IT nerd and this was a practical project, I was basically stuck with all the work now.I sighed. We had finished the blueprints and now was just the modeling left. I had been using the school’s 3D printer (which was why Josh was a great help) for all the parts, but unfortunately, Sheril had left with the instructions and now she was refusing to pick up her phone. I just needed to make sure I had all the pieces be
WARNING: This chapter contains a scene of assault!Dina’s POV“You expect me to starve?” I snapped and turned to him, now simply ignoring the looks we were getting. Who was this guy and what was this asshole doing here?! “Seriously Josh. You’re acting very strange today.”“I don’t think it’s me, who’s acting strange,” he muttered, crossing his arms over his chest like a moping child. I rolled my eyes at him and finished my purchase. I didn't need this right now, but unfortunately for me, my life just couldn't ever be easy. Because like a spoiled brat, Josh refused to help me carry any of the grocery bags and stomped back to the car. I was honestly tempted to just drive him home and finish the project myself. I knew it meant I had to stay up late to finish it, but at this point, I almost preferred it to Josh’s weird mood.Luckily, by the time we reache
WARNING: This chapter contains a scene of assault!Dina’s POVWas Josh trying to mark me?!Over my dead body!I breathed in deeply, preparing to scream at the top of my lungs. But he efficiently cut me off by slamming his lips on mine. I gasped, but it came out as a muffled moan; almost encouraging him to continue. Now panic really sat in. I tried to turn my face away and push him off, by kicking my legs.“JOSH, STOP IT!” I yelled between wet slipping kisses, while I kicked and screamed. Mentally, I cursed the sexist idiot who gave male werewolves their unbudgeable bodies. Because try as I might, I was trapped underneath him; not even my unusual strength could get him off. As if something had possessed him, Josh quickly grabbed both of my wrists with one hand and held them down. He continued to kiss my skin, nibbling the spot, where my mate would mark me, while his other hand moved lower,
Dina’s POVI don’t know why, but my wolf somehow decided that this was the perfect time to remind me of all the erotic visions of this situation that Rita had put into my head. I gulped, yet my mouth remained dry as a dessert. My heart felt like it was trying to break my ribs and a shiver crept down my spine. And worst of all? It wasn’t a bad kind of shiver…“If you punish me,” I somehow managed to whisper. “Dinner will be late.”His expression changed from mischievous to confused in a matter of seconds. His eyes went wide and his brows furrowed. I don’t think he expected that and, to be honest, as for excuses went, that was a rather lame one…“Oh, what do I do?” he replied sarcastically. “Dinner or punish you?”I shrugged, hoping he’d go for the former. He just sighed and shook his head, before walking over to me. His dark eyes trailed over
Dina's POVIf memory served me right, he hadn’t hit Josh, so he must have gotten those before he rescued me.“You need some ice for that?” I offered while wondering what had happened. Without waiting for an answer, I took the towel and icebag out of his hand, and as carefully as I could, I wrapped it around his hand.“It’ll heal,” he gruffly grunted and tried to shake me off. Mentally, I rolled my eyes at him."Hold still, you big baby," I huffed and grabbed his hand again, carefully avoiding putting too much pressure on it. This time he let me, despite the displeased growl that made his chest vibrate.“What happened?” I asked to distract him. I reached for the other hand and carefully gave it the same treatment I'd given the other one. I knew he'd heal in no time, but there was no need for him to be in pain while it happened.Macho alpha bullshit...“Tres
Dina’s POV“Dina!”I turned around and saw Alpha Stone leaning against the doorway to his office. The white tee clung to his body perfectly, and his jeans hung loosely around his hips.Goddess, he looked heavenly…“Yes, alpha?” I replied and tried to stop myself from ogling him. But my wolf kept encouraging me to eye-rape our alpha, which made that mission rather impossible. He looked so---He didn’t reply but motioned for me to follow him into his office. But instead of sitting down, he stood by his desk with that irresistible smirk of his. For a second, I wondered if I was in some kind of trouble – or if he’d changed his mind about last night and had decided to punish me. However, to my surprise, he pointed to the artwork I’d made on his wall.It was a small collection of stick figures gathered around a lake, that was the huge patch. On the patch were du
Levi’s POVI shut off the alarm but remained in bed for some reason. Usually, my wolf wasn’t a morning wolf--- or ‘any time of day’-wolf actually. My mornings usually started with me having to fight him for control because he wanted to kill the alarm – literally! But not this morning...He was quiet. And for once, I actually felt well-rested. And I’d even slept well.I felt amazing! And it worried me.Was my wolf planning something?I took a deep breath and let my mind wander…I lost control of my wolf yesterday. When I'd seen that son of a bitch on top of Dina, I'd lost it! My wolf surged forward and ripped him off her before I even had a chance to fight him. But I didn’t go on a killing spree like usual. Levi's POV“Don’t fuss about it," I tried. "That’s how I wake up every morning.”She spun around so fast, I think that even the air around her got whiplash. Her face was red as hell and her look could kill ordinary men.I gulped.OK, so--- not my best move? “You know it’s rude to point it out, right?” she barked, narrowing her eyes at me. And while I was the alpha in this situation and had several inches on the raven-haired beauty, I felt about an inch tall all of a sudden.“I was trying to cheer you up,” I confessed, not feeling at all too alpha-ly right then. And all because of a she-wolf? And no comments from my wolf?! Other than the huge grin on his face, hoping she’d been dreaming about us?What was wrong with that dog lately?!“Comparing your morning wood with a girl's wet dream, isn’t cheering her up,” Dina s
Levi's POVWe ran towards our borders and within seconds he picked up a couple of rogues. He quickly turned his anger on them and hunted them down. I didn’t even try to hold him back. Hell, I couldn't even if I wanted to. In his blood-lusted state, there was nothing I could do to control him. He tore through them like a savage animal, but once he was done, he’d finally calmed down enough for me to take over and shifted back.We were quiet for a moment.Usually, when my wolf went on a rampage like this one, I would give him hell after. I hated him for being the monster he was, but---Not tonight…Tonight this was on me just as much as him. I hadn't even tried to fight him but had relished the release of his outrage. Because no matter what, I'd felt every bit as angry, frustrated, and scared as he was. I didn't understand it. And part of me feared that more than anything...I waited until my breathi
Levi’s POVI hate negotiating treaties! It’s not like the Black Lunar Pack needed them. My pack was strong in itself and I really didn’t get the point of “exchanging training techniques”. My Deltas had that down to the tooth and our Fighters and Elites were the best in the land, even beating the Royal Pack at the last "friendly" competition. I didn’t need their stupid fighters to teach my pack anything! The Black Lunar Pack didn’t need anyone else! But I wasn’t stupid.I knew that alliance meant no fighting and no fighting meant no wars or hostile takeovers. Most of the time anyway! So, I played my part in the stupid meeting with the Council nagging and bickering me to accept deal after deal.As if I was born yesterday…I knew Black Lunar was growing more powerful than anyone liked - especially the Royal Pack. I’d already expanded
Dina's POVMy heart dropped to the pit of my guts and suddenly I felt like throwing up. I hadn’t seen him in over two weeks and, honestly, I could do for another year without seeing his sorry ass.“What do you want?” I asked harshly while trying to fight every instinct in my body that screamed bloody murder. I was terrified but I refused to let fear control me. Not that anyone could blame me - I think. The last time I saw him, he’d tried to rape me. I wanted to move closer to Rita, but instead, I stood tall, glaring at him with everything I had. I was not going to let him see how he’d hurt me. I would never give him, Dylan, or any other man out there the pleasure of thinking they broke me.I would never give in…“I just---wanted to---,” he stuttered and nervously scratched the back of his neck. That was when I noticed that he looked like someone had used him as a chew toy and his skin looke
Dina’s POV“You and Michael?” I exclaimed, while my best friend was giggling like a hyena. My jaw was still located on the floor somewhere, as my best friend delivered the news of the century. I mean, sure, I knew they were dating. The guy had practically moved onto campus since I gave him her number and he was always with her whenever I was around. Like, literally, I saw him more than I saw the alpha. They spent every waking moment together and I could see how much she cared about him. Hell, she was falling for him faster than I usually cheated on my diet. But going from that to---MATES!Apparently, Michael had asked her to be his mate and she’d said yes. After less than two months of dating. That was a big step for wolves - really BIG! Bigger than getting married for humans. Luckily for werewolves, commitment really wasn’t a problem. We were social animals, more than humans ever could understand
Levi's POV“Her brother?” Mick asked again, just as he got another text.My wolf growled.“That wouldn't surprise me,” I shrugged, trying not to let him see me gritting my teeth. Dylan’s two weeks had long since passed and just as Dina predicted, he didn’t show up. And none of my trackers were able to find even a shred of evidence that he was still alive. Not that I minded. I liked having his sister as a maid. And that wasn’t going to change any time soon. One, because if she was a target, I could keep her safe by keeping her close by. And second, the second Dylan stepped foot back into my territory, I was going to kill him for what he'd done to his sister. My wolf growled in agreement. What kind of man hits a woman?!And his younger sister at that? He was supposed to take care of her but instead---“Have you tried asking her? Perhaps she knows something?” Mick suggested
Levi’s POVShrek! That’s it!She reminded me of that damn cat in that Shrek cartoon! The way she’d always pouted her red lips and made those huge emerald green puppy eyes sparkle in the light. Making her look so innocent and sweet, even my beast had a hard time being mad at her.I groaned in annoyance and leaned back in my chair, knowing I had better things to do than to fantasize about my maid. That girl could make kings grovel at her feet - including yours truly! - and she didn’t even know it. She was so pure and innocent, yet didn't come across as naive or childish. she was just genuinely a really kind and sweet person, with no amount of sass lacking.I tripped my pen repeatedly against my desk, growling more and more annoyed with myself. But no matter how desperately I tried to push her out of my mind, the second thought that entered my mind was about her as well. I felt like she had me whipped
