Being Me

           Damnit! I can't believe I am late again today, there is literally no doubt I am going to be in trouble with my boss. I quickly unpack the jean jacket I bought with me yesterday because of these days cold and while on my way, I rush into the bathroom to do my business.

"You're going to be late again. Well, is there any day you're never late?"Ariel says falling back unto the bed.

She's my best and only friend who also doubles as my room mate.

"I'm already on my way out so do well darling"I say with sarcasm and shut the door behind me and walk across the street. 

On the exterior, the town seems normal but when you get to know the people who live there. Seriously there's everything strange about this town and it all owes to the fact that almost the whole populations are werewolves.

I should not be living here but I don't give a fuck! After what they all did to my family. 

They killed them and tears threatened to roll down my face but I hold it in as I open the door to the doughnut shop where I work.

"Why am I not exactly surprised. You're literally late everyday. Every single day since I've hired you, you've never been here to time"My boss, Elyssa said.

She is also a werewolf and I openly hate her. I have no choice but to work for her since I needed money and I'm too underage to get a better job. Something like a stripper will pay a hundred times better than what I earn from Elyssa.

Not in the mood to bicker, I simply give her a look before going to change and coming back to work the counter. Everyone calls me the cold bitch cause I don't give a shit about werewolves or even talk to them. Ariel is the only werewolf I talk to and that's because we've been friends even before I knew her identity.

While working at the counter, some werewolves come in and take their sit. While they were chatting out loud, they mentioned something really important.

"Some rouges attacked us last night so the Alpha thought they might still be loitering around or be among us so he sent his guards to look around town..."

That was the important but I caught right before my co worker decides to impair my listening by interrupting

"Are you sure you don't wanna leave" Aaron, who happens to be my co worker said. He's also a werewolf, one of the annoying creatures.

Thinking of it, It isn't really that hard to identify them, ever since I found out about Ariel it has been quite easy to recognize them. They got this tattoos,height and body structure you wouldn't mind touching or spending a night with plus they are dangerously good looking, and when I say dangerously good looking, I mean charming. But no matter how tempting that might be I, Crystal Lucario Davenport would never have anything to do with them. I hope the rouges kill them all especially that ruthless beast they call their Alpha.

"Leave? Elyssa is going to fire me and make sure I never get a job elsewhere"I roll my green eyes.

"That's ma'am Elyssa to you baby doll. One of these days, she'll come for you at night when you're defenseless"Liam teased. 

He has been trying to get in my good books ever since I started working here,I glare at him and remove my apron, hung it and then left the kitchen.

I decide to try my luck and hope Elyssa doesn't fire me, it's only her name that sounds nice, nothing else about her is nice, but I need the money for my college fee. It has always been my parents dream for me to go to college but we were so poor and my parents could not afford it and I didn't pester them for it not until they died.

So I will be making their dreams come true by sponsoring myself, I'm sure they will be proud of me if they were still alive but it's all these damn werewolves fault that they aren't alive anymore. Talking of werewolves, I'm going to meet one now. Gosh, If only they knew how much I hate them, I might seriously take a chance to be a vampire or even a witch.

"What are you thinking of? You're supposed to be working the counter aren't you? You come late and now you're dawdling"Elyssa glare at me.

"Alpha Damien's men are going to parade around the town. You know I can't be seen doing anything here? I need to leave" I voice out almost desperately. I don't want to die yet without making my parents proud and probably getting appropriate revenge for their deaths.

"You are not a rouge are you?" She sniffed me.

"You're human so go back into your work station"She ordered and then walked away.

She just freaking walked off like I came to her to beg for a doughnut.

Well since the boss says I can't leave, I might as well stay here and let them capture me. And at least before they kill me, I hope I get the chance to kick the Alpha Damien's prettyface.

  "Your mate is probably out there while you're drooling over the stripper" Adam teased.I knew he was trying to test my patience but I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction he derives from doing that.

Instead my attention left the stripper I had been busy drooling over for the past few hours as Dana walked into the room,the one woman who could bring any man to his knees and I have to admit, including me of course.

Dana happens to be the head of female warriors. She is beautiful, smart, intelligent and brave. And in addition, she seems to have all the right curves in the right places.

Even though we aren't mates I plan to seek her out since I am not interested in love or anything mates has to offer which is why I don't bother looking for my mate.

He'd seek Dana out, court her and make her the mother of his werepups, imagine the pups she could give birth to depending on how strong she is and she is definitely strong, and if he find his mate he would reject her and mate Dana instead but he needs to take it slow. One step at a time they say 

Dana glance around the room until her gaze rested on him, she offered him a secret shy smile. He winked at her in response,he knew how he looked and he is very well aware that ladies couldn't resist him even if they want to.

"It getting late and I have a meeting with the pack council so get the fuck up"I said to Adam as we both leave the strip club.

"I also have to rest. I am going into town tomorrow in search of my mate and you are coming with me"Nathan ordered with his mock tone even though he knows I always reject the offer.

"Don't even go there"I said shutting the door on the mate issue immediately.

    "Alpha"

They all acknowledged as I walked into the meeting room. All the sarvents hurried away.

We all know the power I possess and moreso I am their leader so I am feared by all.

In a good way I like it. In order to protect and guide your followers, you need to be strict with them so they know who is boss.

"Alpha." One of the council elders acknowledge before speaking his mind

"The packs are complaining and so are the council" He voices out.

Adam and I exchanged looks.

"So what have you all been saying behind me?" I asked in my usual deep Alpha's voice.

They seem to hesitate for a moment probably choosing their words carefully.

"We're saying an Alpha needs a Luna so does the pack. It needs strength and the strength of the Alpha determines the strength of the pack. Also, the packs needs the assurance that they are hundred percent safe" Another of the council said.

I can't believe I'm walking into this issue again, I think and mentally facepalm.

I glare at them all.

"Are you saying you doubt my ability to protect the pack" I sneer and show my anger at the same time at them.

"No no"They hurriedly said but I was done listening to their trash. 

I stood up and leave the room. I don't want a mate or the drama that comes with it. Love is a total distraction and that's the last thing I need.

"At this rate, I guess you're going with me into town" Nathan whistles.

"Just shut up" I reply.

Well if my packs want assurance that they are safe and if my mating helps them to think so, then I am going into town to get that bitch.

But shouldn't she be looking for me too? 

Am hell sure she is either feeling too proud or she's probably scared of me due to my reputation. 

Thought of this made me smirk.

If she fears me then she would keep her distance from me while I prepare to seek Dana out.

It will make my plan work better and faster...
