Alpha Alexis POV

She had put in more efforts into avoiding me more than before. She seemed like she didn't want to be around me at all.

Why was she fighting this?

We both knew what our wolves wanted, yet she did a great job in acting oblivious to it.

She sat beside me in the car, but she leaned far away from me . I could feel that she was scared but she tried to hide it by staring out the window, pretending to see nothing. Her hand was shaking slightly and when she clenched it hard, the fingers started shaking, like she needed to use every ounce of strength to control it. We hadn't spoken since the portrait incident, she did well to keep her distance and I kept mine too. Throwing myself into work, the pack, and everything that came with it.

From a peripheral peek, I saw her drag down the end of her dress like it was supposed to miraculously increase the length, and she tried repeatedly. I almost smiled at how adorable she looked, I had chosen the short gold armless dress on purpose.
