JACKSON POV
I roll my shoulders. After working out for three hours, Jason and I finally felt a little bit better. We both use exercise as stress relief typically. Something our parents taught us. I smile to myself, thinking about the time mom out lifted dad.
Dad, Jason, and I had been down in the gym pumping for a competition dad was going to enter when mom had come in. Jason had made a comment about how mom could never lift like dad. We were nine at the time and a little pig-headed. Mom had laughed, shoved dad out of the way, and benched his max weight.
She only did one rep, but that was enough. Both our mouths had hung open, watching her leave the gym. Dad then punched Jason in the arm and said, "she is going to make me sleep outside if you keep talking like that boy." I laughed and laughed at both of them. I laughed at my brother, who had thought because mom was female, she couldn't compete against dad, and I laughed at my dad because even though he was huge and powerful, mom was the one in charge.
The memory made me smile sadly. So many hours spent together in that gym. In that kitchen. In that living room. Now all those rooms and all those memories were in ashes.
I trudge slowly towards our huge shower. Every inch of this mansion is luxury, but it will never be the home we grew up in. The jet streams do wonders on my bruised muscles. I lather and scrub before leaning down and placing my hands on the wall. I let the water work my tense back.
Tonight we become Lycans. I turn off the water at that thought and head to get dressed.
JASON POV
I search the massive kitchen for anything edible that does not involve cooking. Life is going to suck without Auntie Moira's cooking. She now lives two hours away from us instead of next door. Homecooked meals are going to be a thing of the past. What the hell are we going to eat? Can Ethan cook? Who is going to clean? We can't have an omega. They would know our secret.
Jason- Ethan, we need a maid and a cook. Non-wolf. Maybe, someone we can trust.
Ethan- (chuckle) or you could learn......
Jason- we will be training under you and Clint as much as possible. How can we clean a mansion too??.
Ethan- good point. I will figure something out.
I roll my eyes but let a small grin fall on my lips. Ethan-0 Jason-1. I usually never win against Ethan or Jackson. Even if it's a small win after yesterday and last night, I needed it.
I spot a bag of beef Jerry and tear into it. The smell of meat makes me close my eyes in satisfaction. Delicious. I head to the entertainment room that has a small theater set up. I plop down on a huge grey sectional that swallows me comfortably. I turn on the newest underworld and dig in.
I am not going to bother with a shower since, in a few hours, we will be shifting for the first time.
ETHAN POV
I run both my hands through my hair. How didn't I think of that? Three guys can't maintain this huge house by ourselves. One, the boys have never done a lick of housework, and two, it will distract us from training.
The war with the vampires is now on our shoulders, and the twins need to be ready.
Ethan- Scott, Clint. Jason just pointed out the need for a cook and a couple of maids. Any ideas?
Clint- I will look into it. We will be there soon, by the way.
Scott- we can call a human maid service. Or send three trusted omegas. Omegas can be under orders where humans can't.
Ethan- I would say Cinthia, but that puts her two hours away from Craig, and the pack would get suspicious.
Clint- we will weigh the pros and cons of human versus wolf staff after the shift.
Ethan- yes Alpha,
Clint- don't. Not yet, please.
I break the link. None of us were ready, but I genuinely feel for Clint. He has enormous shoes to fill for the next three years. I let my mind wander to my queen. The woman who stole my heart at 15 yrs old. Yes, she was my queen, and no, I never overstepped, but boy did I love her. King Emmett knew about my infatuation, but he still trusted me. He knew my loyalty was just as sound as my love for her. And even now, after she is no longer here, I still strive to make her happy. I will protect her children with my life.
I groan as I look at their picture again. I wish I could have fought beside them. I might have been able to save her. I know it was most likely part of her secret plan. She knew her death would unleash Alpha, and if the whole royal family died, then the vampires would get a false sense of safety.
According to the numbers, 51 vampires, 93 rogues, and 74 pack members died yesterday. And even though 74 is a considerable number of lost wolves, it is tiny compared to the carnage that could have taken place if Alpha hadn't gone feral. During Clint's phone call this morning, he let me know how many vampires our feral Alpha killed before finally letting Clint snap his neck. The battle was won because our queen died. She was a smart woman. I would bet my own life that it was part of her plan.
THIRD PERSON POV
Lenny hugs each twin as the family circles around. A huge space has been made in the middle of their training field for the twins to shift in, and both look very nervous. Jason can't keep still, and Jackson is biting his lip continuously.
"When it begins, try to relax your body and mind. The pain is intense but do not fear it. The more you tense up, the longer the shift will take," Clint explains as he holds Simone's hand.
Moira, Scott, Ethan, Clint, Simone, and Lenny all back away, slowly giving the boys as much room as possible. The shift should occur at the time of the twin's births, which means Jackson's will start first, but since the boys were born at 11:38 pm, the younger kids stayed home with Cinthia. The clock hits the very second Jackson took his first breath, and he falls to his knees in pain. Jason stares at his typically composed brother with pure worry. Jackson screams, and Jason begins to hunch over in pain.
Lenny tenses as she watches her beloved cousins strain and convulse. Moira grabs her daughter's hand, trying to provide some comfort as the boys' skin splits and pristine white fur sprouts out. Their bodies shake and morph painfully. The twins scream and groan for what seems like hours. But finally, their bodies adjust, and the air fills with silence.
Two massive, white Lycans stand up and roar. Looking around themselves tensely. Clint and Scott pull their loved ones behind them as the Lycans sniff the air. When they catch sight of the trembling werewolves, they lurch forward, grabbing Clint and Scott around the neck. They yank the males into the air as the women scream. Ethan jumps forward instantly.
" Jason, Jackson, calm down. CALM DOWN," Ethan shouts, and the two Lycans glare down at him.
" We are your family. Put them down," Ethan says, calmer watching the massive beasts.
They throw the males down.
Unknown- who are you
Unknown 2- why do we feel a connection to you
"I'm Ethan. I'm your human sides sworn guard. We share a life bond," Ethan explains soothingly with his hands raised.
"And those are your uncles, aunts, and one of your cousins," Ethan continues while gesturing towards the trembling family. Scott and Clint's faces are slowly returning to color.
The Lycans lose their aggressive stances, slowly observing the group. They meet each other's gazes before linking again.
Unknown- We are Eros and Helios. Named after the god of love and the god of the sun.
"The two males you grabbed are Clint and Scott. The women are Simone, Moira, and Lenny," Ethan introduces while pointing to each person.
Helios (unknown 2)- we must run.
"You can not go outside. The vampires believe your human sides are dead. There was just a huge battle. We must hide the twins until they reach 18 yrs old. The vampires have a method of trying to make hybrids. They are wanting your humans for this experiment," Clint explains quickly while rising to his feet.
Eros growls loudly as he watches Clint.
Eros- you said, Uncle. This male holds no bloodline to my human.
"I was their Father's Beta. My mate and I have always been considered family. Can you not communicate with Jason and Jackson for this information," Clint asks slowly, trying to keep the Lycans calm.
Helios- humans sleep after the first shift. When they awake, they gain control.
Eros- they should awake soon.
Helios- much energy was used to bring us forth.
Eros- you say, vampires. Does Lord Stefan still reign?
"Yes, he does," Scott says, eyeing the tall figures.
Helios and Eros move towards him with lightning speed, and Moira gasps.
Eros- These three are blood relatives.
Clint and Ethan nod. The Lycans both pull Lenny forward.
"Don't hurt her," Moira squeaks as she tries to pull her back.
Helios growls. Eros flashes his teeth.
Helios- we will not harm
Eros- cousin, is special to human sides.
All five adults nod and the Lycans resume sniffing Lenny.
Helios- we shall stay confined for only three years.
Eros- after we show no mercy
Helios- humans have awoken.
The Lycans' eyes shift from pale blue to brown as the boys regain control. The whole family breathes a sigh of relief. The Lycan brothers are holding true to their legend.
"They wanted to run, so we shall leave you two in here. Run the track explore as much as possible. We are going upstairs," Ethan tells the boys as the group heads to the elevator.
Jason and Jackson stare at each other as their family leaves. Each boy taking in the other's appearance with interest.
JACKSON POV
My brother and I are huge. Our beasts are just that, beasts. They stand at 9ft and are all-around huge. Including their massive genitals that are exposed. Gross
Jackson- hello
Helios- hello, my new human.
Jackson- what happened after we shifted.
Helios- my brother and I met your family. You and your brother slept. The first shift is the hardest. Your minds needed sleep for a few minutes. But our healing is much faster than werewolves. You must run. Our bodies require exercise.
Jackson- OK, no problem.
I take off awkwardly. My new legs are different than a humans. But I soon catch a rhythm.
Jackson- well, Helios, tell me about yourself. Strengths, weaknesses, personality, anything.
Helios- hmm. Silver to the heart is our weakness. Our only weakness. In human form or lycan. As far as personality goes... I'm not sure.
Jackson- what do you like?
Helios- Blood. Hunting. Females. My brother.
Jackson- things you hate?
Helios- vampires. Traitors. My turn. Who are the important wolves to you? Must protect those who are important.
Jackson- that's easy. My brother. Ethan. Scott. Moira. Lenny. Mike. Clara. Clint. Simone. Tray. Cinthia.
Helios- I recognize some of those names.
Jackson- yes. Ethan. Scott. Clint. Moira. Simone. And Lenny. Were just here. The others are young cousins, well, except Cinthia. She is an omega. She helped raise us.
Helios- The Lenny female was drenched in your/our sent.
Jackson- she hugged us before we shifted. She is our closest friend. She is the same age as us.
Helios- I see.
I shift my focus back to running and glance across the track at Jason. Who at the moment seems to be fighting with his lycan.
JASON POV
I bolt after Jackson watching how he uses these long legs. Being this tall feels so awkward.
Eros- hello human.
Jason- um, hi, I honestly forgot about you.
Eros- how when you are using my body?
Jason- because I don't want to think about you.
Eros- I can feel your anger, human. What has you upset? We are strong.
Jason- having you as my wolf ruined my life.
I growl at him in our head.
Eros- how so?
Jason- your life span is endless. I will watch everyone I love die, and I will never have a mate since the goddess doesn't want me to have one.
Eros- the goddess is not giving us a mate?
Eros loud growl echos in my head, and I stumble in pain.
Eros- who will we love? Who will bear us pups. The goddess gives all wolfs mates now, that started in our time.
Jason - my theory is she doesn't want to share you and your brother.
Eros- Our first humans betrayed her. But her love for them stayed. She never loved us. She loves the wolves we created because the spirits go back to her. They keep her from getting lonely.
Jason- so why punish your new set of humans?
Eros- she did not say. She did not mention her plan for a mate just, Lord Stefan
Jason- and what about him?
Eros- this time, we must not lose.
We both let silence fall. Something must be coming. And unfortunately for us. Stefan has had time to prepare.
THIRD PERSONOne month laterClint groans as he slams down his phone. His new office in the packhouse is large but disorganized. So much is happening, and it is too much too fast. Grief still clings to Riverstone and himself. But along with the grief, Riverstone is also drenched in the need for revenge. Every single wolf is training daily. The protective shifting outfits are being shipped out to all wolves everywhere, and Riverstone wolves are wearing them constantly.Scott is busy rebuilding all the structures that were lost in the attack, including Emmett's home. Scott and Clint know that when the boys return, that is where they will want to stay. Scott and his restoration crew are salvaging as much as possible, but it will still be a new build. Several other homes were also destroyed, but Twin Construction hasn't missed a beat.Vampire attacks are happening all over the world on a large scale, and Clint fears the werewolf population doesn't have three year
97 YEARS LATERAMELIA'S POVI let Eve burst through myskin as the sickly sweet scent of vampire falls upon our campsite. Wolves shift all around me as we all make a break for it. As rogues, we never stand together. It's every wolf for themselves nowadays.I make a beeline for the coast, using the underbrush to hide my medium-size frame. My black wolf is mostly invisible tonight due to the cloud cover, and I am thankful. I have to survive tonight because tomorrow I finally get to set sail to America. The last stronghold werewolves have. The packs there are still functioning, unlike the packs here in Europe. My pack was one of the last in Scotland until five years ago.Five years of living as a rogue. Five years of fighting. When you are on your own, you fight for everything: your food, shelter, and even your virtue. At 20 years old, I've done a fantastic job. I'm still pure, and I'm still strong. I am the fourth child of the late Alpha Connor and Luna Ma
PLEASE LEAVE REVIEWS IT HELPS MY STORIES!!! I NEED TO KNOW WHERE I CAN IMPROVE OR WHAT I AM DOING RIGHT. THANK YOU R RATED CHAPTER AMELIA POV The males and I move to the ship quickly. We have to board. There is nothing left for us here. The ship has Riverstone on the side in red, and it fills my soul with hope. Three burly wolves stand on the deck with grim expressions. We watch as ropes and chains are attached to the dock before we walk up to the ramp. The three big wolves make their way to us. I feel the males beside me tense and stand taller. "Just three," burly one asks. "There were 11. But our group was attacked last night by three vamps," the older male answers with a firm voice. "Hey, but a female made it," Burly two says with excitement Burly one lets his eyes roam my body before sniffing the air. "She smells clean. Not pregnant. No male scent besides human," Burly one says lowly with his eyebrows scrunched together. "Amelia isn't like the other she-wolves. She is sti
JASON POVMy joints crack and pop as Iroll out of our bed. Every ten years, we get a new mattress, and that time is fast approaching. I nudge Jackson in the back before heading to the bathroom for my morning routine. After using the restroom, I scrub and rinse my 25 yr old face. I still can't get over it. We watched everyone we ever loved turn grey and old, while here we sit at 115 looking like we are still fresh. Personally, I want to punch every mirror in this house. Each of our cousins lived long lives for which I will always be thankful. Clara and Tray were true mates but never had any pups. We think it was because of the Goddess. Lenny was rejected by her true mate. And lived with us every day of her life. She was our best friend until the day she died. Jackson and I never told her we killed the little bitch who rejected her. ( Lenny was gay ) We just couldn't believe her soulmate threw her away like that, and the Lycans didn't tolerate seeing her hurt.
THIRD PERSONJason andJackson tug on shorts as they enter the cells with caution. Each doesn't know how to feel. Their best friend, guard, and brother has found his mate. But somehow, it doesn't feel like a happy ending for the mateless Beta.Ethan paces the hall in front of the female vamps cell, pulling his hair and cursing under his breath. His protective suit is stained with vampire blood and soot."Chill, man, we will sort it out," Jason says, seeing their friend's expression.Ethan's head snaps towards them with a growl. "I COULD HAVE SAVED HER. SHE WAS A HUMAN. THOSE LEECHES GOT HER FIRST BECAUSE I WASN'T LOOKING FOR HER," Ethan explodes, and the Lycans roar back at his disrespect"I'm sorry, but it's true. I didn't think I would get a mate so soon since our lives are going to be ....... FUCK... who knows how long. And she was alive. Breathing. Now, look at her," Ethan collapses to the floor.Ethan tucks his knees to his chest and wee
AMELIA POVI can't seem to get air into my lungs fast enough. The Kings, THE KINGS, are my mates. That's the only thought I have before my eyes close. Slowly my body relaxes, and my brain wanders into dreamland. My dream isblissful. I'm in my wolf form running. The air is crisp and fresh. No matter how fast I run, I never seem to get tired orwinded. I smile at the thought of everlasting energy. In the distance, I see a stream. A beautiful stream that seems untouched by any human hand. As I approach the softly flowing waters, a voice sounds in my ears."Amelia, Sweetheart," a familiar woman says, making me whip around. My breathtaking mother stands there with her arms by her sides and tears on her face. My wolf whimpers as I dash towards her."Easy, baby girl," she whispers as I drop at her feet in wolfish despair."I don't have much time to tell you what the Goddess wants me to tell you, Sweetheart. You must listen," my mother sa
AMELIA POVThey look so tense, and it makes me nervous. I glance around the room and realize I'm in some kind of clinic. My left hand has a nasty IV in it. I move to take it out, and one of my mates grabs my hand."Please don't. You are a little dehydrated," he says softly with pleading eyes.I nod and clear my dry throat. My heart paces loudly, and my hands begin to sweat, but I have to do this."Please sit down. We need to talk," I say in the calmest voice I can. Both the twins tense even more before sitting down in chairs on either side of me."First off, Hi, my name is AmeliaBrùn. I am the daughter of the late Alpha Connor and Luna Marian Brùn,and I am 20 yrs old," I say.I cringe internally at my weird formal voice. It feels so weird talking to Royalty. Royalty that I have idolized. Royalty that I am somehow mated to. I look between the twins, slowly waiting for them to respond, but their eyes are unfocused. They are l
JACKSON POV"Just treat melike you do the other females. I don't deserve special treatment," she whispers. And we roar. Jason bangs on the bathroom door aggressively, but I grab him. I drag my brother from the room as my heart breaks for our mate.Jackson- Gordon send guards to the Hospital. Your Queen needs to be escorted to her room. Tell the guards to keep their distance but not to let her out of their sights.Gordon- yes, my king.I can't believe we have been so stupid. Mother and the Goddess are probably both disappointed. In an attempt to protect she-wolves, we ourselves have begun to use them. We no longer value their strength but their reproductive abilities. Mother would knock us in the heads if she had the opportunity. While the she-wolves we mated were very willing, they were still used and discarded. Our soldiers enjoy all the unmated she-wolves as much as possible instead of waiting for mates. Each unmated she-wolves has multipl
"Tell me how my mate died," I repeat while taking another slow step towards the bigger vampire. I discreetly sniff the air, and Helios growls within our mind as Monica's scent saturates our nose. I immediately link Jason. Jacks- Monica's scent seems to be concentrated on this male. He is her killer. The others are useless. Jason- useless and weak. These guys aren't even trying to take advantage of their speed in this small space. They fear us too much to move. Use it! Monica instilled fear in their hearts for us, brother. "As my associate said...we were only passing through. Your Luna decided to play hero Alpha King...unnecessarily, I might add. We weren't planning on hurting anyone. Killing innocent creatures who acted in self-defense isn't very noble of you," the vampire lies, and his two remaining friends fall dead behind me. Jason moves to my side, covered
Hurry up. Hurry up. The thought repeats in my mind over and over again as I pace back and forth near the packhouse. The warriors around me try to act like they can't feel my impatience, but I know they can. Their eyes keep darting from the forest to me. Jason took off over ten minutes ago. He should have at least updated me. Something has to be wrong. Someone I love is hurt. I can feel it! If it were Jason, I would physically feel it....it has to be Lenny or Mon. Jacks- Jas, I told you to update me! Have you found anything? I roar through our link, but he doesn't reply. In fact, I can hear the echo of my words bouncing off a faint wall. Jason closed me out?.?.?. That means he is either fighting or he found out who was hurt. Jacks- High Alert. Stay here. I order the warriors closest to me before darting towards the line of trees Jason disappeared in. I focus o
Helios growls as we charge towards the closest pack, which is a small pack called Sun Moon. It was established not long ago by surviving wolves wanting to be closer to Riverstone and has done surprisingly well. The battle-hardened wolves might be small in number, but their skills are impressive. My warriors flank me as we make a beeline for their closest border. Although Sun Moon is tough, worry is coursing through Helios, and I like poison. Sun Moon is new and just getting into its second generation. If vampires get within their land, their low numbers will be decimated. Because no matter how strong they are, vampires can hit them with numbers. I shift as soon as I cross into their territory and sniff the air. I let my strength roll off of me in waves. If vampires are present, they need to sense me. It might save lives, but as I take in my deep breaths, my senses tell me the vampires most likely di
TWENTY-SIX YEARS LATER, JACKS, AGE 73MONICA AGE 50 Watching people you love grow old is hard, but knowing my time with them is coming to an end is gut-wrenching. Watching Lenny get wrinkly and Monica's dark hair turn grey is like slow torture. When our aunts and uncle passed, it was natural all of them lived long, happy lives. But knowing Lenny will pass away and we won't is excruciating. She is the same age as us even though we only look twenty-five. When we found out Uncle Scott and Aunt Moira died together in bed while they slept, we had smiled through our tears. Neither of them had to live without the other, and they had seen all of their children grow old. Scott had been 96, and Aunt Moira had been 93. Beautiful ages to leave this world. Even Aunt Simone, who had to live without Uncle Clint for so long, died peacefully with all of us
"I'm so happy you finally get to come home, Jack. I missed you," Monica says for the third time. I give her a grin and kiss her forehead. She is holding onto me as if she hasn't seen me for a year. "How much did you miss me," I ask in a low voice filled with double meaning. She smacks my arm, but a naughty smile can't help but pull at her plump lips. "You just got out of the hospital," she scolds, and I laugh. Before she can say another word, I swing her towards me. I lift her up, and her long legs wrap around my waist. I give her a hard kiss before nipping at her lips with my teeth. "Well, I guess I need to reassure you that I'm okay," I whisper before kissing her again. I squeeze her ass cheeks as we walk back to our little house we share. I want her. For the past 24hrs, I have been craving doing ex
Helios sniffs the air deeply as we share control over our lycan form.Helios- More than threeJacks- We should play spy before attacking. See why they are here and if reinforcements are coming.Helios- The trees are too spread out. We will make noise leaping from one top to another.Jacks- Fuck. Vamps seldom spill, and if the rogues are too far gone, they are a lost cause as well; we will get nothing. Helios growls as we both try to piece together the best way to handle the situation.Helios- we don't have much time. Jason and the warriors are most likely heading this way. We need to decide, Jackson. We can try the trees, but you have to give me complete control. Your handling of my body isn't as practiced as mine. I roll my eyes. I don't even respond before turning to the nearest tree and beginning to climb. Helios huff's inside our head, but I ignore him. When I reach the high
After that walk, everything seemed to fall into place. Monica talked, and I listened. I spoke, and Monica listened. We became close friends and then lovers. Now, I can't picture my life without her in it. I know one day I will have to say goodbye, but I don't want that day to come anytime soon. "Babe, are you here," Mon yells as she opens my office door, looking flushed. "Yes, I told you I would be," I reply, standing up from my chair. Jason smiles at Monica before returning to the alliance proposal he is working on for the African packs. "I know. I'm sorry, I am just excited. Are you ready," Monica asks as she holds up a plastic bag from one of our in-pack stores. Excitement shoots through me, and Helios seems interested in our mind. "You want to that here," I ask, quickly walking to her side to peck her lips. She kisse
Blood is pumping so loud in my ears I can't hear anything as I crash through the window designed for my large lycan body. Shards of glass and wood shower the ground as I land on pure white fur-covered paws and charge. Rage is seeping from every pore on my body. I want his blood. I want to skin him alive. How dare he come into Riverstone after rejecting one of my members. How dare he have sex right next to where Monica is. I roar, and both the naked wolves snap their heads in my direction. The female scrambles to gather her clothes, but I don't pay her much attention. I want the male. I want his blood. I want to bring him as much pain as he has brought his mate. How can he be so callous? How can he reject his life partner and not twenty-four hours later be with not one but two other females? I hate this male with every fiber of my being. "Alpha," the female squeaks as my large clawed hand wra
"Thank you, Alpha," Monica whispers after a second of silence, and I nod. "Sorry for interrupting. Please continue," I mumble after calming down and readjusting myself in my chair. Monica takes a deep breath before starting again, and I watch her. She isn't hiding behind her hair anymore, and I like it. What I said must have given her a little bit of confidence. "Joseph was very degrading. When he asked for my name...and I shook my head to tell him no that I wouldn't tell him my name. He then informed me that he needed my name because he had no intention of mating, and he definitely didn't want me as his permanent "screw." He said he is of Alpha descent, and females need his "boys" actively helping out with our population. After that, I saw no reason not to give him my name......I mean, I waited, Alpha. I waited for my mate. Most of my friends haven't, and I understan
