(Dominic’s POV)I couldn’t help the growl that escaped my throat. I stepped into the room with the intention of ripping the bastard’s head off, but felt someone grab my arm. I looked around to see my dad shaking his head. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to try to focus my rage. We needed to find out what had happened to Theia before I beat him to a bloody pulp. My dad stepped past me into the room and walked up to the table. He leaned forward on the table and allowed for his own Alpha aura to emit out into the room. It was focused on Liam, who was beginning to look uncomfortable under the weight of it, but it wasn’t like the rest of us couldn’t feel it too. I heard a noise and looked back to see one of the warriors exposing his neck in reaction to the power from my dad’s aura. Alex even looked uncomfortable. I allowed a hint of a smile. I could feel the power, but as Alpha, I didn’t feel the need to kneel to it like others of the lower ranks.“Now Liam,” my dad started, his t
(Dominic’s POV)I took one last look at Liam before rushing out of the room. If Leah had someone who knew something, then I had to know right away. My dad followed as I jumped into the driver’s side of the car and started the engine. I didn’t even give him time to get his seatbelt on before I started driving back up towards the house. When we got there, I headed to the study to see Leah sitting at my dad’s desk talking to someone on the laptop screen. She looked exhausted, but determined. I knew that this must have been almost as bad for her as it was for me. As my Gamma, her job was to protect my Luna. Add in the blood bond and I suspected she would be feeling the unease I feel around Theia. She looked up and smiled weakly and then looked back at the screen.“Hold on Jake,” she said. “My brother is here now.” Jake? As in Blackthorn? That shocked me. It was rare that the Alchemists ever got involved in the affairs of the lowly supernaturals. Well, unless it impacts them, or the situa
(Theia’s POV)It was my worst nightmare, and it all came true. It was exactly like the vision that I had at the Conclave. I was trapped in this dark, dank cement cell, huddled in the corner. With chains painfully digging into my wrists and ankles. I was cold, hungry, and tired. And most of all, I was terrified. The same paper thin blood and other fluid stained mattress was in one corner. The stench from the hole in the floor toilet was overwhelming and only added to the painful and sickening headache that was growing by the minute. Not helped by the large tender lump on my head. It had stopped bleeding, but I didn’t need a mirror to see that my hair was all matted with dried blood. Or that one side of my face was swollen and bruised from when the man punched me as they were dragging me into the van.I knew that there was something off about Liam when he offered to walk me to meet Dominic, but excitement at seeing Dominic again and to tell him about the amazing conversation that I had
(Theia’s POV)I couldn’t help but look around the room as the man spoke. I didn’t know if my hopes were to see disgust in peoples faces or even a chance that someone was going to help me get away. Either way, I was disappointed on both counts. Some of the people, mostly men, were leering at me, with what looked like raw hunger in their eyes. Some of them were sitting watching the smarmy man as he performed, sprouting some speech about how he always delivers the best quality product and his name as The Salesman was the assurance in itself. I had suspected that the person behind my kidnapping was The Salesman, but now I had confirmation. It was still bugging me that I felt like I had seen this man before, but there was no place in my life that I could imagine myself coming in contact with a man that sold thi9ngs on a supernatural black market.“Now, some of you have requested a closer look at the product,” the smarmy man, or I guess the Salesman said, “Those who have paid for that servic
(Theia’s POV)I screamed again. I screamed as the edges of the world grew dark and started to disappear and fade away until all I could feel was the big gaping hole where my heart used to be.I shot awake and looked around, confused. I tried to jump up but my hands and feet were chained, and I was on the dark, dirty floor of the cell again. I looked up to see Hanison standing in the doorway. His features were highlighted by the light behind him. Tears streamed down my face as I strained at the chains.“LET ME GO!” I screamed at him as I tried to stand, but my legs were shaking so badly, and I felt like I hadn’t eaten in forever. No matter how much I screamed and cried, he just stood there, unmoving. I finally collapsed to the ground again in an exhausted heap and sobbed.“Let me go, please,” I whispered, more to myself. I didn’t know if I was asking him to let me go or for life to end my misery. Dominic was dead. I saw him die right before my eyes. I felt the bond that I didn’t even k
I am still dealing with this nasty virus that is doing the rounds in my house, in addition to the other illnesses that I deal with on a daily basis, I am finding writing difficult. So I have decided that I am going to get the rest of the book written and upload in one go. I have done this for several of my books and I find it easier to write like this. I have set the dealine for the rest of the book to be complete and out to you all at June 6th 2022, if not before. I am sorry for the slow updates on the book and realise that my personal circumstances don't seem to do well with the serialised expectations at this time. I hope that it will be something that I can account for before I release the next book.Thank you for your understanding
(Theia’s POV)The next couple of days went by without incident. I was mostly left on my own in my upgraded cell. One of the women that I saw in my vision came in once to collect my ruined clothes and then the only other person I saw was the big silent guard, and only when he was bringing food.It left me a lot of thinking time, and I tried to go over everything that happened in my vision. I remembered the auction and some of the people crowding around me. I remembered the comments about my sexual activity from that one creep, and a cold, heavy feeling settled in my stomach when I thought of it. I wasn’t stupid enough to not realise that whoever intended to buy me might not be doing it only for my visions. I felt sick at the thought of it.I tried to focus my thoughts on what I did know. The person who had put down the one billion pound bid was connected with that James person. And he was connected to the Conclave. Did this mean that the Conclave was in on all this? Did they want my vi
(Theia’s POV)I saw Hanison struggle against his men, but in all the noise and confusion, it looked like their need to protect him overrode their perspective skills. This worked out in my favour. I looked back at the back of the room and searched the crown for barely ten seconds when my eyes fell upon the most beautiful sight in the world. He had already found me and I felt tears prick my eyes as they met his. I looked to the side of him and he tilted his head before looking in that direction, just in time to see the man running at him. He dodged out of the way but disappeared into the crown as he began to fight through everyone.“Miss Adams, please,“ I heard the familiar voice again and turned to see James mayhem standing by the door, just as in my vision. It was now or never. I knew this was my chance to really change things. I grabbed the bars and tried to look all sorrowful at James.“Please,” I pleaded in my best whiney voice, “Help me.” His face lit up, and he started fumbling
