Emery
“What did you just say?”
We both looked toward the direction of the person who just spoke and froze. Talk about perfect timing!
“What did you just say, Amelia?” Kairo exclaimed, his voice shaking the entire room.
“I—I—Uh—We were just joking around? Right, Emery?” She nudged me hard, but I didn’t falter.
I looked at her incredulously, “I don’t recall us joking, Amelia. If I heard it right, you were mocking me to tell the secret that you’ve been trying to hide for all these years. You know, I already told you to tone your voice down when you’re speaking. You never really know who’s going to hear the contents of our conversation.” I said seriously.
She looked at me with a heated glare and tightly held my hands, her nails embedding into my palms.
She started talking in an overly-sweet voice, “Babe! Don’t believe her. She
Emery“Arlo, remember when you asked me for your real daddy?”Arlo looked confused as to why I was asking this question, but he nodded his head regardless.“It’s okay even if I don’t have a real daddy, mommy. I am happy with you. I am also happy because I have my aunties and uncles, grandma, Devyn, and uncle Kairo!”He looked at Kairo with a toothless smile. “Uncle Kairo can be my daddy even if I don’t have a real daddy! I already love him like a real daddy.” He hugged Kairo’s neck with his short arms.I was shocked when a tear suddenly fell from Kairo’s eyes, and I heard him sniffle next to me. I held onto his shoulder and forced him to look at me while Arlo continued to hug him. “Are you crying?” I asked. He shook his head, but another tear fell from his eye. I rubbed his shoulder and gave him a comforting smile. I think this is the first time that I have seen hi
Hi, my lovelies! I'm going to be posting a two-part Kairo special where you can learn more about Kairo and why he acts a certain way. I hope this can clear up some stuff, and maybe you'll learn to love Kairo a little bit more. <3Kairo15 years ago“Mommy, mommy! Can you join me to the flowers?” The little girl in front of me tugged her mother’s dress and coaxed her into coming with her to the garden. However, my mother and her mommy continued to chat, disregarding the little girl on the side.My mom always talks too much! I held onto the little girl’s hand, making her look at me.“Come on. I’ll take you to the flowers.” She smiled at me and nodded. I paused for a while because this was the very first time that I found a girl’s smile to be beautiful. The other girls in my class always wanted to get my attention, and I found them burdensome. However, the little girl in front of me was
KairoFour years agoI punched the walls of my room. She’s gone. Emery’s gone. I shifted to my wolf and ran through the forest. I wanted to clear my thoughts away from her, but it was of no use. She was all I ever thought off, starting from back then and up until now.I settled near a tree and whimpered in disappointment. I let her go once again. I promised back then that I’d treasure her when she came back to me, but I failed to do that once more. I ran and ran until I couldn't feel my legs anymore.I wanted to run away from this place and find Emery, but that would mean leaving the pack behind and making The Council suspicious. I sat down in my room and pondered upon the choices that I’ve made. Was it really worth it hurting Emery so bad? She doesn’t deserve anything that I’ve done to her. She deserves to be loved, but I treated her like shit. And now I’m fucking miserable because of my own actions.
Emery“Will you go on a date…...with me?”My eyes widened, and my heart started beating faster.I looked at him. He was scratching the back of his neck and avoiding my gaze.“I mean— You don’t really have to— I was just blabbering my ass off. You don’t have to agree with what I just said.” He peered up at me, and I remained silent.A panicked look went over his eyes, and I had the urge to laugh but suppressed it.“Fuck. I ruined it, didn’t I? You just told me that we should stay as friends first, yet here I fucking am! I should have just shut my mouth. Did I make you uncomfortable? Sorry. Sorry. Really. Just forget everything I—”“Sure,” I said to cut off his rambles.“Yeah, yeah, sure. Sorry for that again— Wait, what? Did you just say ‘sure?’”“Why? Do you want me to take it
EmeryWe were currently playing a shooting game, and Kairo was getting frustrated because I kept beating him in the previous games. He wasn’t able to win me anything, but I was able to win two stuffed toys that I plan to give to the boys.“Ugh!” Kairo groaned as I won another game again. The young lad operating the game gave me a grumpy dog keychain while Kairo pouted on the side.I let out a chuckle and patted him in the pack. “Come on. It’s okay. I mean, you train every day to sharpen your skills and perfect your aim, but I guess those only work for real wars. Here, you can have this.” I handed them the keychain while he playfully glared at me.He looked down and kept quiet. I poked his cheek, but he still did not budge.“Are you really that upset?” I asked him.He sighed and looked at me sincerely. “I just want to win something for you. Is that too much to ask?”My eyes so
EmeryI keep feeling like somebody’s watching us. However, I shook it off since it’s probably just my nerves. It’s been a long time since I’ve gone out, so I might just be unfamiliar with the environment. The sun was about to set, so I proposed that we already go home.“Let’s go home before the sun sets.”“Mommy!” Arlo whined.“Let’s ride one more ride, hmm?” Devyn flashed his puppy eyes at me.“Pleaseee,” Kairo added. The three boys looked at me with expectant eyes, so I couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.“Fine,” I gave in. All of them were just too cute to resist. No. I mean, only two of them are the cute ones. The other one’s just a big ugly baby.“What do you want to ride then?”“Let’s ride the Ferris Wheel,” Kairo responded.“Yes, mommy! Let’s go
Emery “But would you give up Devyn?” “And let him live on the farm with me?” Kairo frowned and took a sip from his water. “How do we know that you’re telling the truth? This is the first time that I’ve ever seen you in my life. I’m not going to give up Devyn that easily just because you claimed to be his father.” Noah looked down and nodded. “I know that it’ll be hard to believe. If I was in your shoes, I would most definitely be suspicious of myself too. However, I’m telling you this from one father to another. He is my son. I don’t know how I can prove it to you right now, but I wish that you could feel my sincerity.” “I know. I am a father, but I am also a leader. I can’t help but find other people guilty until proven innocent.” I could see that Noah was losing hope just as Kairo appears to lose his temper, so I decided to butt in. “He’s telling the truth.” Kairo and Noah turned to me, surprised. “How would y
ArloI was woken up by mommy shaking me awake. I rubbed my tired eyes and looked at her curiously. Why is she waking me up so early?I turned to Devyn, who was still sleeping soundly, and prepared to wake him up too. However, my mommy stopped me.“Don’t wake him up yet, bub. I just need to talk to you about something, okay? Let’s go to the other room.” My mommy carried me while I laid my head on her shoulder. I held tightly onto her while we went to daddy’s room. I could feel that something was wrong because mommy seemed sad.She placed me down on daddy’s bed and looked at me with sad eyes.I touched her cheek and looked at her with concern, “Are you okay, mommy? Why are you sad?”“I’m going to tell you something, hmm? Can you promise me that you would be okay with it?”I put on a brave face and straightened my shoulders. “You can tell me anything, mommy. I’
Third Person’s POV On a warm evening in April, the Ford family members are all gathered at one table. Emery prepared their favorite foods, and it seemed like things were going well. They looked like a perfect family, and they are! However, Emery and Laura started talking hushedly and giggling as the dessert was served. Kairo leaned closer to her lovely ladies in an attempt to hear their conversation. Laura turned to her swiftly and scooted closer to her mom. “What are you doing, dad? Can’t you see that mom and I are talking?” Kairo pouted and bitterly ate his black forest cake. “You’ve changed. You used to tell everything to daddy. But I guess you’re too cool for that now.” Laura is now in middle school, and Kairo has been feeling melancholic these past few days. He feels like time is moving too fast, and his once cute children can now live without depending on him. Laura sighed and pushed her seat back in its original placement. “I always tel
Dalton“You signed me up for what?” I asked incredulously as I looked at my group of friends. They were all looking at me with wide eyes, and I couldn’t help but sigh out.Emery fiddled with her fingers and avoided my gaze. “We kind of signed you up for a speed dating event.”I threw my head back and pinched the bridge of my nose. “Out of all things that you could have signed me up for, you signed me up for speed dating? You could have signed me up for a hotdog-eating event, horseback racing, corn tending, you could have even signed me up for a Japanese karaoke reality show, and I wouldn’t hesitate to agree. But this! This is too much!” I said and shook my head.Karina went over to me and shook my shoulders. “Oh, come on, Dalton! All of the events that you’ve suggested are even weirder than the speed dating event! We saw the ad on a very reliable site, so you don’t have to worry about its l
DevynThe birds chirped as I removed the sheets from my body. I wrapped my arms around myself when I felt a soft breeze brush against my bare skin. I let out a deep breath as I felt the bright and vibrant sun lightly hitting my closed eyelids.Wait… Sunlight? Why am I feeling sunlight?I always wake up before sunlight.I jolted up from my bed and checked the time on my phone.8:00 AMWhat the fuck! Why the hell didn’t my alarm go off? I looked at my set of alarms and saw that they were all turned off. I slammed my phone down on the bed and screamed the name of the one and only culprit.“Arlo! You motherfucker!” I screamed while making my way downstairs to find that bastard. He was sitting on the dining table, leisurely sipping his coffee.“Oh! You’re awake. Good morning, brother. Great day, isn’t it?”I walked closer to him and slammed my fist down the table. The mug
ArloI looked at myself in the mirror and could not help but whistle in satisfaction. Staring back at me is the most handsome and charming man that I’ve ever seen. Of course, that man is me. The music in the background only amplified my beauty, and I couldn’t help but look at myself in wonder. However, my self-loving session ended when someone turned off the music. I turned around to scold the culprit and saw my mom.“Mom! What are you doing in my room? Privacy, please!” I said exasperatedly. She gave me a tired look and went beside me. “Arlo, please. I love you very much, and you’re a very handsome boy. But you’re turning borderline narcissistic. You’ve been hanging out too long with your uncle Dalton. I need to speak to your father about this.”I gestured towards my new shoes and complained. “But Uncle Dalton’s a cool guy, mom! He just bought me some new shoes for my first day of s
Third Person’s POVEmery stood anxiously by the door while Kairo bounced in excitement. It has been a while since they’ve gone out on a date, and today, they finally got the chance to do that. Kairo went all out and booked an expensive hotel just outside the city for Emery and him.“Are we really leaving our kids to him?” Emery asked.“Hey! What’s wrong with me?” Dalton asked, distastefulness heard in his voice. “Just look at the kids! They’re so behaved now that I’m here.”After Dalton said that statement, Laura pushed off the contents of the living room table while Arlo chased Devyn with a worm. It seems like the house became more chaotic with Dalton just being there.Emery looked at him incredulously. “Are you serious?” She turned back to Kairo and held onto his shoulders. “Let’s have our date some other time, okay? Maybe when the kids get older.”
KairoToday, Emery is taking Arlo and Devyn to their monthly haircut, so I had to stay at home to take care of baby Laura all by myself. Laura is now three years old, and she’s the most energetic that she’s ever been. She wasn’t awake yet at the moment, so I had some time to breathe for myself.Emery had just finished arranging the boys’ bags when I went behind her to give her a back hug.She chuckled and turned around. She brought her arms around my neck and gave me a peck on my pouty lips. “What are you acting like a big baby for?” She asked softly.“You’re leaving me alone,” I whined.Emery chuckled. “I’m only going to take the boys for their haircut. It’s only going to take two hours at most. Besides, this is going to be a great opportunity for you to exercise your fatherhood. You haven’t even tried being alone with Laura now that she’s a toddler.”
Third Person’s POV Time flew by pretty quickly, and baby Laura is now a year old. Being an exceptional baby, she quickly developed the skills of a toddler, even as an infant. At a year old, she can already walk and write basic letters. She can even hum a tune! However, what is strange among all of these, is that she hasn’t uttered her first words yet. There were plenty of times when it felt like she was finally going to say her first words, but she sure does know how to play push-and-pull. Since everybody’s anticipating her first words, they’ve placed bets among themselves on what her first words are going to be. The group of friends was sitting on the floor in the living room. Along with them were Arlo, Devyn, and the grandparents. Crassus slammed his foot down the floor and intimidatingly looked at all of them. “I’m telling you right now. Laura’s first words will be ‘mama.’ It will always be ‘mama.’ Every other child that I’ve known
Third Person’s POVEmery is currently nine months pregnant, and everyone inside the house has been walking on eggshells. Her belly has protruded so much that she couldn’t even see her feet, and the gang feels like she’s ready to give birth at any time. All throughout the week, there have been many false alarms, and I guess this day was no exception.Karina and Emery were sunbathing near the pool while gossiping about the new human settlers just near the borders.“Did you see the way those girls looked at our mates? I couldn’t believe that they have the audacity to take their numbers when we were literally next to them!” Karina rambled.“Right? And can’t that blondie even see my baby bump? Like hello? You’re hitting on a baby daddy?” Emery rambled with her.“Ugh, it’s so hard being a woman. Imagine! We’re the ones having our periods every month, we’re the ones who&rs
Third Person’s POVThe group of friends was currently sitting down on their living room couch, huddled over Kairo’s laptop. It was pretty late at night, so the kids had all gone to sleep. They were currently watching gender reveal parties on a video platform.Different kinds of snacks were laid down on the table, and only the sound of the videos, along with their munching, could be heard in the room. They were on their fifth video now, but each member’s reaction was still lukewarm. Tired from all the mediocre gender reveal parties, Dalton roughly shut down the laptop and stood up.“I’m sick and tired of these videos. They’re too boring! It’s not enough for the unborn child of the strongest Alpha in the world and a Lycan. We need to go beyond all of these! We need to invite every pack that we can and show the world just how precious your future child is. Who’s with me?” He exclaimed with exaggerated motions.
