Chapter Nine: The Former Luna

NEERAH

“Are you alright?” A gentle female voice snaps me out of my deep thoughts.

I look over at her, just for a moment before I cast my eyes downward.

I couldn't speak. Not a tiny sound. Not at all.

“The Alpha got held up by work. He will be here shortly. Why don't you sit down before he appears?” the woman states in a really soothing tone.

But I couldn't just sit down with them. Not when my hands are shaking from the force of my emotions.

“I am sorry” I whispered. And then I walk out because damn if I would subject myself to their judgment. Not When I already feel like crap.

I felt like I was a beacon at the precipice of doom.

I make my way upstairs again, close the door to my bedroom and just put my back on the closed door, wondering why I feel so deeply for this one guy I just met hours ago. To the point that I am a jealous wreck!
