The next morning, Selena woke up to an empty room. The bed was well made on the side, vacant beside her. It was long cold, and she knew he had left for a long time.
Selena and Simon were not mates, and although her wolf had enjoyed him, she did not feel that tingle or the way mated people described. But she loved him a lot, and through the night, Simon had told her that he loved her too.
The night passed with them both sweaty and exploring every each of their skins, kissing, touching, letting the fire burn them till they reached their peak over and over again.
Selena sighed as she rolled over, partly worried that he left before she woke, but then her slag muscles gave her a sense of calm and relaxation that came with passionate lovemaking.
