“Pay attention.” Thane snaps, irritated by lackadaisical behavior.

I shake my head, usually I am not like this, but listening is giving me a headache. “I am paying attention.” I say back, clearly angry.

Thane sighs, before focusing on the meeting. I really don’t have to listen to this part, it’s the reading of the pack’s transactions, I let my mind wander away to something- or rather someone.

Anytime, I think about that night, the memory of her in her underwear has me growling for more, but she just had to mention that, like how it was true and when clearly, it wasn’t. I had never been hurt before, but those words. They sunk really deep, they sliced my heart.

The meeting is still going on, but I am not even paying attention. For the past few days, the officials have been craning on my neck to get married.
