83: Found

Alora’s POV

The restaurant was eerily quiet after the last of the customers had left, the chairs stacked on tables, and the lights dimmed. David and I were the only ones left, locking up after another long night.

I moved to the counter to grab my things, absently wiping my hands on my apron before pulling it over my head and hanging it on the hook. We are done for the day and it was yet another success. More than yesterday’s success.

My hand instinctively moved to rest on my stomach, now fully visible without the apron hiding my growing bump. The baby was big enough that there was no mistaking it anymore. And I opt for a body hug today because I’m a proud mummy.

David was chatting about something light, but my mind was elsewhere. I could still feel that strange sensation under my skin, the same tingling, crawling feeling I had been trying to ignore all evening. I thought I was just unnecessarily paranoid.
