Denial

Thirty minutes earlier, the kids of Everly School stood in the front of a bus when Newton and Livey came running towards them.

“You two are late” the principal reprimanded and they solemnly apologized.

“In a single line, get into the bus” the principal ordered and the kids hopped in then the teachers and they finally left. The drive to the Lock Enterprises took thirty minutes, Livey arranged the kids while they walked into the company, close to the entrance she inhaled a familiar yet intoxicating scent,

“Ash” she murmured in her thoughts or she thought she was mistaken.
