As the family headed upstairs, Valtira slipped up behind Kael and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Can I join you, Alpha?" she asked, her voice low and husky. "You look like you could use some help relaxing after today's stress."

Kael felt a pang of guilt as he saw Aurora walking towards her room, her eyes flicking towards them before quickly looking away. "Not today, Valtira," he said, trying to sound firm but his voice came out weak.

Valtira's grip on his waist tightened as she leaned in close. "I knew you'd say that," she whispered, her breath tickling his ear. "But I insist on helping you unwind. Unless... you don't want me around anymore?"

Kael turned to face her, his eyes locked on hers. "That's not it at all," he said, trying to reassure her.

Valtira's smile grew wider as she leaned in closer. "Good," she whispered, her lips brushing against his. "Because I'm not going anywhere."
