Lucian's POV

I was in a temporary military camp deep in the forest with my men, and we were discussing Axel, Calla's ex-mate. My men had been gathering information, and they were now giving me a report.

"Alpha, we've got some new intel on Axel," one of my men began. "He's not bluffing about wanting to get Calla back. We intercepted some of his messages, and he's been quite persistent."

I frowned, wondering what Axel's game was. "What kind of messages?" I asked.

"He's been trying to find her directly either through bribery or torture of innocents." One of my men chimed in. "He's also been asking around about her, trying to find out where she is."

"He's probably planning something," a third man said. "We need to act fast before he makes his move."

I nodded, my mind racing. Axel was a loose cannon, and I knew he wouldn't hesitate to hurt anyone who stood in his way. I had to keep Calla safe.
