The morning goes by quickly with Alessia ordering and placing the designs where it was supposed to be. Her mind was occupied with work but that didn't stop her from thinking about that strange man, she was fond of calling him strange since she didn't know his name.
Alessia was talking to one of the workers appointed to her when Collins, one of her colleagues, walked up to her with a charming smile.
" You're such a hard-working and beautiful lady, Alessia " he complimented and Alessia smiled in return. She knew that Collins had an eye for her since she started working here but she doesn't feel anything for him because he wasn't her type, or maybe she has no specific type in a man.
" Thank you, Collins. You're not too bad yourself. You appear so charming. " She replied and that made his smile widen. He appeared to be handsome but she felt nothing for him.
" I just wanted to ask, if we could go out tonight for dinner. " He said.
" I... "
" Please don't reject my offer. It's just a friendly offer and nothing else, I promise. " He persuaded and Alessia couldn't help but accept his offer since he said it was nothing but a friendly dinner.
" Thank you so much, Alessia. You won't regret it. "
In the night.
" Wait! What did you just say? You're going out on a dinner date with a guy. I'm so happy for you. Finally, you may have met your life partner. " Zelda ranted, pacing to and fro as she talked about Alessia's date, but Alessia couldn't help tiredly shaking her head. She had tried explaining to her best friend that it wasn't a date but just a mere friendly dinner and nothing else but it seems she misquoted her.
" It isn't a date. " Alessia snapped.
Alessia walked into the restaurant dressed in a black silk dress which stopped just above her knee and had one side strap on her shoulder while the other side looked like a wrapping design which made her look extremely elegant. Even though this wasn't a date she still wanted to look right, especially in a place like this that had a certain dress code.
She looked around the restaurant and knew it was solely for upper-class patrons, not for people like her. She let out a sigh, she thought Collins had said this was a friendly dinner then why did he tell her to come to such a high-class restaurant.
A waiter walked towards her and showed her to the table where Collins was already seated. He was dressed in a white suit that had a red bow on it. She couldn't understand why he was dressed like that or why he had everything arranged as if this was a date, but she decided against thinking so because she wouldn't like it if she got to know he tricked her into coming to have dinner with him thinking it was just a friendly dinner.
" You look absolutely beautiful, Alessia. " He said and gestured for her to sit down, by pulling out her chair for her like a gentleman.
She sat down and smiled at him, " You don't look too bad yourself, but why would you bring me to such an expensive restaurant?! " She threw the question at him.
" You deserve all the best, Alessia or do you expect me to bring you to a high-end restaurant in the streets. " He replied and they both chuckled.
" I never knew you were such a funny guy. " She flushed, as the same waiter earlier walked towards them to take their order.
" I would like some sushi and a white wine. Thank you! "
" So, tell me about yourself? " Collins asked, after the waiter left.
" Well, there's nothing to say about me except that my name is Alessia. " She stated and he chuckled and placed his right hand on hers, her inner muscles jolted up, but not at his touch but at the feeling of being watched.
She could feel a penetrating gaze behind her, watching her closely, she could feel it and was extremely uncomfortable.
The waiter walked up to them with their order and served it on the decorated table.
" I would like to know a lot more about you. " Collins said, which made Alessia frown but it wasn't obvious.
" Why would you want to know more about me? "
" Why do I feel like you're being secretive about yourself?! I would like us to be more than just friends. " He muttered, taking her hand in his, bringing them closer to his lips and placed a kiss on the back of her hand, all this was witnessed by Marcus, who sat on a chair five feet away from theirs.
" Friends?! And who told you we were friends. " The deliberate cruelty of her words cut deep through him like a knife but he decided to giggle it away.
Seeing his mate having fun with another man, Marcus's wolf couldn't help but become restless and angry, there was an internal struggle between him and his wolf, as it tried to fight for control over his body.
" You have to stop, Draven."
" Mate! Mate is with another man. I want my mate. She's mine, only! " His wolf, Draven roared in rage.
" Sir, we have been talking about the contract. When can we get your signature on it?! " His inner thoughts were distracted by the man who he had come to the restaurant with, for a business deal.
Throughout the dinner, Alessia felt uncomfortable and she finally glanced behind her to take a peek at who was looking at her, then her eyes met with his. She felt a little creeped out with him being there, but she was also glad in case Collins makes a move on her.
He had been acting strangely and she didn't like that, she was even regretting ever accepting his offer.
" Where would you like to go after this dinner?! " He smiled.
" Where else could I go, except from my house. "
" You could follow me to mine. I have a lot of comfortable rooms. " He winked at her,
" What are you insinuating?! I came here to have a friendly dinner with you but I didn't expect you to be nothing but a douchebag. " She scoffed, her patience almost reaching its limits.
" You don't have to shout. My offer isn't a big deal, I like you and I would love to screw you." He said, while licking the side of his lips.
" You... " Her words were cut short as she felt a familiar presence looming over her from the back. Collins's face went as white as a sheet upon seeing the tall, muscular and imposing man standing behind Alessia, glaring daggers at him.
He didn't recognize Marcus as his boss. Marcus is the owner and CEO of Walter's Enterprise but only a handful of staff had seen him.
" And, who the hell do you think you are to touch mine! "
To be continued...
Marcus didn't understand why he reacted like that but he had to. He doesn't want her but he also doesn't want her to be with anyone else, it's like a game of tug of war going on in his head." And, who are you to her?! " Collins asked nervously, as he stared at Alessia for an explanation." You wouldn't want to find out who I am, because if you try to, you will only end up digging your own grave. " The deliberate solemn in his voice made Collins shiver all over in fear as his eyes were wide with terror. Who could this man be to Alessia?! Could this impulsive man be her boyfriend?! For him to threaten him and claim possession of her the way he did earlier, it all made sense to him that this man must either be Alessia's lover or boyfriend." I'm sorry, I didn't know she was already taken. " He faked a giggle as he stood up to take his leave, his hands trembling due to the intense gaze of Marcus, he tried not to look into his eyes as he quickly walked away. Alessia just sat still, watch
Thursday morning.Alessia walked into her office only to be informed that all her orders had arrived and her secretary had signed the paperwork as the receiver, but when she inspected the delivery, she came to know that some things were missing or rather not delivered and that made her really disappointed. She didn't have any other choice but to go back to the mall to sort out the mix up.Alessia checked everything else had been delivered and was right, before leaving the office, getting into her car and making her way to the mall where she had originally ordered the items from. The whole journey there she hoped that this problem would be able to be peacefully rectified, especially as the paperwork had already been signed to say that everything was present and accounted for. After a while Alessia pulled onto the mall's car park and parked her car.Alessia walked into the mall, passing the security guards dressed in their uniforms. As usual a salesgirl walked to her, but it wasn't the
After making sure that the mix-up was sorted out, even though he still didn't show himself to his staff and just made a few calls to the manager, everything was resolved. Alessia left his office happy but with a hazy look, but just a drop of her blood had sent him into a frenzied hunger and he couldn't help wanting to feed on something warm and fresh to satisfy his bloodlust.Kane had to get out of there, he had to leave his office before he slaughtered everyone there and feasted on their blood. He looked at the door to his office, but knew that he wouldn't be able to use that as his exit without being seen by someone and stopped. He looked to the window overlooking the vast and beautiful woods, deciding that it would be the perfect getaway. He opened it as wide as he could and then jumped out. He landed on his feet and immediately took off running towards the woods. Once under the cover of the trees he stopped and closed his eyes. He started listening for a heartbeat, sniffing the a
In the midst of her morning haze, Alessia's eyes fluttered open, two thoughts struck her.Firstly, She accepted her mother's proposal to come spend the weekend with her. And secondly, she was going to her mother's house today and she doesn't know what awaits her.She ran a lazy hand through her messy hair, as she stood up from her bed and robotically began grabbing the things she was going to take to the cottage as she began placing them into her suitcase. When she was sure she had finished packing all her things, she walked into the bathroom to take a shower. Although she had to go to work soon, she would make sure to return early so she would have a chance to head to the cottage. She double checked and was satisfied to see that her suitcase was properly packed. She walked into the living room, seeing her best friend Zelda on the couch, watching TV, she couldn't help but smile." Good morning. Aren't you going to work today? " She teased, knowing fully well that Zelda was a lazy ass
Alessia walked through the tiny hallway to the kitchen after changing into her comfortable sweatpants and singlet. Immediately, the rich aroma of cheese floated to her nostrils, and she sighed in content the second she saw her mother dishing out their dinner on a plate. " It smells so lovely. I've really missed you and your home-made meals. ""Well you're here now and the food is ready, so dig in." Her mother replied, placing the plates on the kitchen table, but when Alessia looked she couldn't help wondering why there were only two plates being served and that was when she realised someone was missing and she hadn't seen him since she had been back." Mom, what about Martin?! " She asked curiously, watching her mother's expression. Her mother looked up, but her face went as white as a ghost, like there was something wrong but Alessia didn't know what. She tried figuring out what could be going on in her mum's mind, but before she could come up with any ideas her mother looked at her
Alessia didn't know what to do but just stared at the wolf in front of her. The wolf was massive, much bigger than she thought a wolf could be. He was black all over, his eyes kept changing colour, between gold and black, each was weird. He was standing tall and looked strong, but Alessia had still never seen a wolf as big as this and this wolf was staring at her like he owned her. She was supposed to be scared, nervous and should scream her lungs out at the creature in front of her, but it all seemed those emotions were far away from her because right now, she was just fascinated by what she was seeing and curious although she wouldn't lie, when she first saw the wolf, he scared the shit out of her, but when his eyes bore into hers, she felt so vulnerable and the lake became so cold that she shivered all over. She gazed into those dark eyes and they reminded her of someone, someone that was so strange and mysterious, but when she realised his eyes had moved to her boobs, she couldn't
Marcus went to take a shower, to cool and calm himself down after seeing his mate like that, but while he was in the bathroom Louisa snuck into his room and stripped her clothes off. She lay on his bed wearing just her lingerie, which she had specifically picked out for this occasion and waited for Marcus to come back into the bedroom. She listened to the running water of the shower and then it stopped, telling her he would be in soon. Marcus got out of the shower and dried himself off, then wrapped the towel around his waist and went back into the bedroom. He still couldn't get his mate out of his head and then he smelled Louisa's scent in his room. He turned and saw her laying on his bed, but this just made him sigh. He and Louisa used to have fun together, but that was before he met his mate and now he didn't want her, he didn't want this. " Get dressed and get out." Marcus said, getting straight to the point, but Louisa just giggled as she got off the bed and walked over to him.
" It all happened on a day when Martin came home drunk as usual, he forced me to sign everything over to him and put it in his name. I didn't want to do it because I witnessed how your father fought so hard to have something he could call his own and not for another person to come claiming it, but I had no choice, he had threatened me. " Sandra replied, looking down at her hands. The hurt was clearly visible on her face." Mum, why? You had always told me how my father strived hard just to have all of this. What are we going to do now?! Because I'm fully aware of that scumbag not wanting to give us everything back and what does this have to do with his gambling? " Alessia groaned, frustrated." I was coming to that. He had made a bet with your father's properties. I can't understand why he would even think of doing that just for a piece of diamond. He lost the bet and now the man is threatening to kill him if we don't vacate the house in a week. This is why he wasn't here when you arr
" It's an honour to have you visit here Luna, " Penelope bowed low in front of Alessia immediately she walked in. " Don't be too formal, Penelope. " Alessia chuckled. " We… " She was interrupted as a petite girl ran towards them, panting and sweating on the forehead. " Lady Penelope! Alexa! Alexa is about to give birth! " She exclaimed, her eyes bulging. " I'm coming, " She stated. " I'm coming with you. " Alessia announced before she could leave and Penelope turned to look at her, confusion visible on her face. " Of course, you can, My Luna. " The expression on Penelope's face changed to that of excitement. " Alexa would be honoured to have you by her side. " Alessia was in a good mood when she exited the delivery room an hour later. She could sense the women's camaraderie. It was genuine, not forced, and it was given freely. She had been the Luna of the Blood Water's pack for three years since her marriage to Marcus, and it was her responsibility to protect the pack emotional
In the spur of the moment, Kane hurriedly shoved himself in the direction of Alessia as the bullet stabbed into his flesh, causing the wolfsbane to stream through his veins. Although the wolfsbane didn't have the same effect on him as it did on Marcus, the toxin was still terrible and deadly, and it made him feel slightly weak. Marcus let out a growl as the wolfsbane burned through his body, and the three rogues who came with Louisa rushed towards him and hooked their teeth into Marcus's skin, drawing lines and lines of blood through the deeply pierce wounds. Marcus's pure determination was only able to maintain him alive for so long without anybody present to stem the flow of blood, and the terrible part was that if he moved an inch while trying to defend himself, he'd just make things worse. Louisa, on the other hand, grimaced as her glance shifted to his direction. " Stop to it!" She screamed, but no one heard her, and she was on her way to help Marcus when Tristan shot her. " I
Marcus' paws slamming against the ground were more menacing and thundering than anything else. Each of his thrusts forward was incredibly powerful, and his black eye erupted in rage. His mission was to track out Alessia and kill everybody who had harmed or touched her. The various scents that were beginning to disgustingly whip at his nose indicated that his ambitions were near to being realised. With nearly two hundred wolves thundering behind him, he continued fleeing through the woods. With so many scents, catching a whiff of his mate was becoming increasingly difficult. He detected the scents of both hunters and rogues, implying that some of them are likely to be in the vicinity of their hideout.Marcus increased his speed, running as quickly as he could, taking a long smell of every single scent he could find in the hopes of identifying one in particular, which he did, and it was the scent of his mate. It didn't take him long to see it was different from the others, and the thoug
" Alessia, take a seat and calm down. " For the umpteenth time in an hour, Zelda said. It had been an hour since Kane and Marcus had left, but Alessia still couldn't seem to get her mind off Marcus being in danger, despite her assurances that he would be fine. "At the very least, consider the child you're carrying; it doesn't need the stress you're causing it. Why don't you take a seat for a moment while I go get you some orange juice?"Alessia's mind was filled with worries of what could be happening where Marcus was and as a result, she couldn't stop herself from thinking too hard. " What if something happens to him? I have seen rogues before and they scare the shit out of me. "" Can you relax now? I doubt that he would be outnumbered since Kane's helping him. " Zelda said, walking towards the kitchen as Alessia followed behind her. " I think you're right. " She muttered as she leaned on the counter." Do you still want a glass of orange juice? "She shook her head. " No, I would
" Are you sure? " Marcus asked, leaning forward, his eyes void and as cold as ice. Alessia flinched by the sound of his voice. She furrowed her brows at the unexpected change of his countenance. It was normal for him to get angry but it seems there are more reasons for his anger." I... I'm absolutely sure. Whoever that man is it's totally inappropriate of him to spy on a couple having sex. " Alessia frowned, crossing her arms." You should have told me when you saw him. " Marcus said, gritting his teeth in anger." Are you blaming me for not telling you? We were both cut up in love making. " Alessia defended, scoffing at his actions."What do you mean, cut up? Do you know who that man is?" Marcus expressed his displeasure angrily. He was certain the rogues were involved, but how could it be? He didn't hear or smell them for some reason. His face twisted in a suspicious manner. Was it some kind of game they were playing? And to know that they weren't the only ones out to get him, and
Marcus stood up as Alessia shuffled out of his hold, he simply stood in place, his dark eyes glaring at nothing in particular as anger started to boil inside him. Who the hell was knocking on the door by this time? He had been so caught up in what he was doing that he failed to pick up the sound of an unwanted guest." I thought you said… " " I know what I said. " Marcus scowled, clenching his jaw. Why can't the person find the right time to come instead of cutting through what they were about to do? Marcus already had a freaking boner!" I hope you wouldn't go to the door like that. " She frowned, pointing at his naked body. " I can go out the way I like. Don't tell me you only want this to satisfy your eyes. " He cocked his head and smirked." Whatever, " She scoffed, rolling her eyes. It was his body anyway! But she couldn't help but fume in anger at another person seeing him like that. What if it's a woman at the door?" I'm sure I'm going to kill whoever is behind that door. "
" Aren't you going to go talk to him before he leaves? " Zelda asked Alessia, who kept pacing up and down in the living room, trying to think of what Marcus and Kane could be talking about. She was afraid that Marcus would be so angry with her for talking to Kane but what could she do? Kane was Zelda's boyfriend, yes. Zelda had explained their encounter to her and how he opened up to her about being a Vampire. Although Zelda didn't want to take things so fast but she couldn't help feeling the magnetic pull towards him. She just keeps feeling attracted to him that she can't help it anymore and decided they should just get into a relationship." I don't think I want to face him right now. He must hate me for talking to Kane and moreover I'm keeping away my pregnancy from him which I think isn't right. " " Yes, it isn't. I think it would be better for you to tell him that you're carrying his child. It would be better for you to inform him than for him to find out himself. " Zelda encour
" So you have a traitor in your pack, but how come?" Alessia muttered, her mind wandering to Louisa. Marcus' mind, on the other hand, was elsewhere, still thinking about what Draven had said. Could she be pregnant? Was he going to be a father? Despite the fact that she didn't appear to be. He was confident that if she was pregnant, she would inform him since he had the right to know. What if she really is? What would he do now?He adored children and had always desired a family, but now that his wishes seemed to be coming true, he wasn't feeling it." Did you hear what I said just now?" Alessia asked, tilting her head to face him." Are you keeping something from me?" Marcus asked a question that caught her off guard." What exactly do you mean?" She questioned, nervously swallowing her saliva while feigning oblivion." Is there anything I should be aware of?" He asked again, his gaze fixed on her."No, why did you ask?"" Nothing. " He muttered under his breath. " I'd drive you to yo
Marcus halted the car with a hand over his face, took a long breath, and opened his mouth to finally squeeze out an apology, but the unexpected look on her face stopped him."Alessia, please look at me. That was not my intention." Marcus quickly corrected his statements after realising what he had just said."No, I understand. You despise humans, including me. Even if they're wrong, you'll always choose your pack members over me." Alessia interrupted him."I swear it was only a slip of the tongue. None of those words were intended in any way. My pack, including you, is very important to me." He quickly shifted his gaze to her." How do I know for certain? How can I trust someone who doesn't believe in me? Marcus, you told me to leave. I begged you to trust me, but all you did was turn your back on me." Despite the fact that she knew Marcus must have heard her voice crack when she mentioned his lack of trust in her, she gulped and continued, ignoring the impulse to release a few tears
