Cameron's P.O.V

Knocking on Freya's door once again was nerve wracking. Especially after what I had just been through.

I hadn't realized that the mating bond had been affecting her as well, not until I had been in danger yesterday and she had allowed me to mark her. But I wanted to believe that it wasn't the mating bond influencing her decision. I wanted to believe that she had helped me because her feelings were genuine…and at that moment, they had felt real.

Freya opened the door then, almost like she had been expecting a visitor. But when she saw that I was the one on the other side, he eyes widened in surprise.

"Cameron? You're up already?" She opened the door wider, revealing her attire that consisted of an oversized green hoodie and short jean shorts that reached mid thigh.

My eyes momentarily travelled her body, fixated on the long, lean legs that seemed to stretch on forever. Freya wasn't very tall, about five feet four, but she was beaut

Freya's P.O.V My heart literally skipped at beat. What Cameron was offering me…it was a brilliant offer. An extremely tempting one. Unconsciously, my hand went to my neck, the place where Cameron had marked me. There was a tiny scar still…more like a hicky…but it no longer hurt or irritated. But it was a constant presence that I could 'feel'. I think Cameron understood that it was a nervous gesture, which is why he took my hands in his and made me look up into his eyes. "Are you worried you won't be able to make it?" I nodded, breaking eye-contact. "I've been avoiding telling Julian that I quit mainly because he wouldn't understand my struggles or him being only five…he would want to quit too, without understanding what it even means. The last two years hadn't been favourable for me; I hadn't had the time or the patience to concentrate on school work since I was so focused elsewhere…but now that I have a chance…I'm scared." I don't know

Freya's P.O.V I was nervous, but excited at the same time as I got out of the car with Sarah in toe. Sarah had gotten herself a new car last week, so she could ride to and from school alone. Today, I was the first passenger that she had driven beside her and that too on a special occasion. Today was Cameron's match against the Portland High Soccer Team. And he had invited me specially to watch the match. It would've been better if any of the wolves were beside me, but almost everyone was going to be on the field. Cameron, Alex as well as all the cheerleaders. "It's crowded." I swallowed nervously, looking at all the people heading towards the stadium. It was going to be a big match. I had never been to a match in the last three years of high school, but I had heard that the soccer match was a big deal for both schools. "It usually is." Sarah came to stand beside me after locking her car, her gym bag thrown over her shoulders. She was already

Freya's P.O.V "Shhh!" A boy spoke from next to her. "She might hear you!" "So?" Another girl's voice, this one different from the first. "She's trash anyways! What is she even doing at the game? Occupying seats for no apparent reason." I was tempted to turn back and give this bitch a piece of my 'trash' mind, but I held my tongue. It really wasn't my problem that 'they' had a problem with me. And besides, it's not like they would say anything new that I hadn't already heard. If I was still the Freya from a month ago, then these same words would have hurt more than bullet wounds or any punch my father had ever thrown my way. But the Freya I was now knew that I was no longer alone. That I was loved and cared for and I had friends now who would stand beside me no matter what. And above all, I had a mate that I was in love with. Cameron. "You think the rumors were true? About her being suspended after fucking the ma

Freya's P.O.V "Cameron…" I whispered almost inaudibly, beyond surprised to see him walking in my direction. His blue eyes sparked with joy he stared into my eyes and within a short few seconds, he was standing right in front of me. Cameron didn't say anything, just opened up his arms for me. At that moment, it felt like the entire stadium was looking at just the two of us. I could feel almost all eyes on me, wide in wonder and horror. No one knew what was going on. And most importantly….no one had expected Cameron and me to end up together. A slow smile spread on my face as I stepped down from the bleachers and crossed the boundary line… and ran straight into his arms. Cameron enclosed his arms around me tightly and spun me around, his joy vibrating through his entire body. When he finally placed me on my feet, he pressed his lips to mine for a brief but searing instant before he pulled back and gave me another beautiful smile. "I knew

Cameron's P.O.V 'I want to claim what's mine. What always has been mine but the only reason I'm holding back is because of you. And once this match is over, I will claim it.' 'Were you serious back then? When you told Trisha that if our mates are from another pack…you'd still let us go?' Fuck! Both Sarah and Darcia's words meshed together inside my head, forming a theory that I wasn't ready to believe. No…It wasn't possible…it couldn't be! Fuck! Hell no! Sarah and…Darcia? Of all the people in the world? I closed my eyes and took a deep breath; both to calm myself the fuck down and to take a whiff of the scents all around me. It didn't take long for me to separate out Sarah's earthy scent from all the unfamiliar ones. And then I began tracing it. 'I need to head out. It's urgent.' It was all the warning I gave Alex as I started following the scent back to school. 'What? Cam! The award ceremony is about to start! Damnit!' Alex's annoy

Freya's P.O.V I backed away from the locker room quietly, trying my best not to disturb the two of them. Cameron and Sarah were friends. Best friends. So it was natural for her to share her pain and distress with Cameron…right? I really had no reason to feel jealous over the two of them. After all, Cameron was only hugging her to comfort her. But no matter how many times I tried to convince myself that it was pointless to get jealous over their friendship…I could stop myself. Seeing them so close together, embracing each other tightly as Sarah cried in his arms…it made my heart tighten inside my chest. I had come following after Cameron when I had found him leaving the stadium grounds in a hurry. It had surprised me greatly because he had just won the match and was supposed to accept the first prize. But instead, he had been rushing out of the field as if he was looking for something. So I had began following him; out of the stadium and into the school bui

Freya's P.O.V "Well, well, well! Look who the cat dragged in" I had no idea who the man was. He had shaggy brown hair that fell to his forehead in an unkempt manner and icy green eyes that were filled with greed. He was wearing all black clothing and it added to the darkness around his, making it nearly impossible to recognize his face. However, I did recognize the man who came up behind the stranger, looking worse than ever. "F-father?" I stuttered out. It felt like my tongue was as heavy as lead. My entire body seemed to have gone numb from fear as I stared at the two of them in utter dismay. This wasn't right! He wasn't supposed to be inside the house! I had checked the spare key…the letter box…was this…did I just walk into a trap? The lights turned on then and I realized that he had been living here for quite some time already. There were piles of beer bottles everywhere along with takeout packages. Where was he even getting t

Cameron's P.O.V Sarah and I stood outside Freya's rundown house as we waited for backup from my pack. I didn't want to help the wretched man. If it were up to me, I would've let him die, the same way he had left his own daughter to die. Freya never really confessed directly to her father abusing her, even after everything she went through. But she didn't have to confess, because Julian already did and also because I had scented this man on Freya that night when I had rescued her. "Cameron!" Adam, one of my dad's most trusted soldiers arrived at the spot with an ambulance. "What happened here?" "We have no clue." Sarah answered before me. "We followed Freya's scent here since she was…missing from the stadium." She gave me a side-eyed look to urge me to follow her story. "But when we came here, we only found her father. Injured and bleeding out. There's no trace of Freya and her scent just seems to have disappeared.&quo

Lilac's P.O.V It's been a long ride and a very eventful one at that and anytime I think about what Krimson and I have been through, I'm just grateful we had the strength to go through everything we went through and we were able to come out of it even stronger than how we were before. As the sun cast its warm, golden rays across the university campus, I found myself sitting on a bench, the weight of decisions pressing against my chest. The soft whispers of the leaves rustling in the gentle breeze mirrored the conflicted thoughts swirling in my mind. Krimson, my mate, had offered a future tied to our pack, an enticing prospect for many, but not for me. I gazed at the sprawling grounds, feeling a tug in my heart that wasn't just about academic pursuits. The university held promises beyond the textbooks and lectures. It offered freedom—freedom to carve my own identity, to explore knowledge that extended far beyond the boundaries of our pack's traditions. I yearned to brea

Krimson's P.O.V I woke up to the pale light filtering through the hospital room, the faint beeping of monitors sounding in the background. My vision was hazy at first, the events leading up to this moment a jumbled mess in my mind. As I blinked and slowly tried to focus, the first thing that became clear was Lilac's form, peacefully asleep in a chair next to my bed. Relief washed over me as memories flooded back, fragments piecing together into a coherent narrative. "Lilac," I whispered softly, my voice hoarse from disuse. She stirred slightly, a faint flutter of eyelashes against her cheeks, but she remained deep in slumber. The sight of her there, unwavering by my side, despite everything that had transpired, filled me with an inexplicable warmth. I couldn't help but recall the chaos of that night—the confrontation, the whirlwind of emotions, and then the blankness as consciousness slipped away from me. But here I was, waking up to her steadfast presence. It m

Lilac's P.O.V I watched Silver hurl accusations at me, adding to my guilt. I wanted to explain, to make her understand that it wasn't intentional, that the circumstances had shifted beyond my control. But words seemed to desert me in that moment as I grappled with the weight of her accusation. However, Krimson's voice echoed in the room then, commanding even though weak. "Silver, it's not Lilac's fault," he said firmly, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "I made the decision. I took action to protect." Silver's gaze snapped toward Krimson, her eyes filled with disbelief. "What are you saying, Krimson? You hated her, didn't you? Then why would you risk your life to save her?" Krimson shook his head solemnly. "No, Silver. I never hated Lilac, it was our circumstances that I hated. It felt like the Goddess had played a cruel joke on me. But I couldn't run away from a bond fated by the goddess herself, Silver. I had caused Lilac enough pain as it is…I

Lilac's P.O.V I nodded, my mind racing with the urgency of the situation. I moved towards Silver, hoping against hope that all of this worked. "Silver…" I called out to her slowly, making her head snap in my direction. "Please…you need to stop all of this." But Silver's face twisted in a sinister smirk. "It's too late to stop any of this, Lilac. This ends with one of us." "It doesn't have to be that way, Silvia." I shook my head, pleading with her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Del approaching her steadily from behind her, while I kept on engaging her in conversion. "It does, Lilac." Silver snapped at me, turning her body around so she was facing me completely. "You don't understand-" It was all Del needed, for her to turn away, so that our plan worked. Without wasting a second, he came up behind Silver and wrapped his arms around her body, holding her in place as he took her by surprise

Lilac's P.O.V For a moment, time seemed suspended, the tableau frozen in an eerie stillness. Silver hesitated, her gaze flickering between me and Krimson, the dagger held poised in the air, its lethal purpose momentarily forgotten in the face of Krimson's interruption. "Step away from her, Silver," Krimson's voice cut through the tension, unwavering and authoritative. His stance was firm, commanding obedience without question. The grip of Silver's magic lessened, the pressure easing just enough for me to draw a ragged breath. My muscles protested as I struggled against the binds anew, though I didn't dare to take my eyes off Silver, her expression a maelstrom of conflicting emotions - anger, desperation, and a hint of something I couldn't quite place. "Krimson, you shouldn't be here," Silver's voice wavered, a tremor betraying the turmoil within her. Her grip on the dagger faltered, uncertainty clouding her features. "You know I couldn't stand by and

Lilac's P.O.V The air was thick with tension, a palpable energy that crackled around us like a storm waiting to break. "Silver, you're fooling yourself if you think you can wield that kind of power," I said softly, my gaze fixed on the gleaming knife in her hands. "You're not a true Silver Alpha Breeder, you never will be. You can't ever access my full potential." Silver's laughter cut through the serene air, a sound that held a hint of something darker beneath its surface. "Oh, you have no idea, do you?" Her eyes glinted with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. "You underestimate what a witch can do, what I can do. I'm part wolf, part witch. I'm a hybrid that is already stronger than both a wolf and a witch! There's nothing I cannot do, Lilac!" "You think I chose you to lead our pack because of some noble sentiment? No, Lilac." Her voice was cold, devoid of any warmth. "I chose you because I knew the stronger you became, the more that dormant p

Lilac's P.O.V My eyes brimmed with confusion and hurt as I confronted Silver in the dimly lit room I was being held captive in. "Did you…ever really consider me a friend, Silver?" my voice trembled with a mixture of fear and desperation, my heart aching with the weight of betrayal. Silver, her gaze heavy with sorrow and a haunted past, met my eyes. "I used to belong to a peaceful pack, a pack that had been my home since the day I was born," she began, her voice tinged with a raw emotion that spoke volumes of her pain. "We lived in harmony, in unity. It was everything to me." Tears welled up in Silver's eyes, reflecting the agony of memories etched deep within her soul. "Your father," she whispered, the words heavy with anguish. "He... he attacked our pack. In the dead of night, when darkness cloaked the land, he led a brutal assault." I felt my heart ache for the woman that I had once considered my biggest alley, but now, she had turned out to be my bigges

Krimson's P.O.V The night hung heavy around us as we tore through the city streets, the engine's roar mingling with the howling wind. Del and I were on a mission—racing against time to reach Silver's apartment. It was imperative that we find Lilac before anything sinister unfolded. "Alpha Krimson, step on it!" Del's voice cut through the adrenaline-charged air, urgency lacing every word. His grip tightened on the door handle as we swerved through the dimly lit alleys, the neon signs blurring into streaks of color. "I'm pushing it as hard as I can!" I shouted back, my eyes fixed on the road ahead. The weight of worry pressed on me like a leaden cloak. We had to reach Silver's place, and had to find Lilac safe and sound. Finally, screeching to a halt outside Silver's building, we leaped out of the car. Breathless and tense, we dashed up the stairs, each step echoing the pounding of our hearts. As we reached Silver's door, our hopes soared, but a hollow silence gre

Lilac's P.O.V As I slowly arose to consciousness, I found myself grappling with the weight of my heavy eyelids. My mind sluggishly pieced together the fragments of reality, pushing through a dense fog of disorientation. The air felt heavy, each inhale a laborious effort that failed to fill my lungs as it should. A peculiar lightheadedness swept over me, a disconcerting sensation akin to floating on the edge of a dream. My initial attempt to stretch my arms, to move, met an unexpected resistance. Panic flickered through my drowsy mind as the realization hit home—I was restrained. My fingertips brushed against something coarse and unyielding, confirming my fear. The sensation sent a jolt of adrenaline through my groggy state, clearing the haze momentarily. I tried to rise, only to discover the cruel truth of my predicament: bound, not just by ropes or chains, but tied firmly to what appeared to be a marble table. The cool surface pressed against my skin, a s
