Lilac's P.O.V 'What's going on? Where am I?' I stood up from the bed I was sitting on, looking around at the very familiar, yet unfamiliar room around me. 'I'd been here before…but when?' The more I looked around at the familiar walls, the almost familiar furniture adorning the room, the more I could recognize the place but still, everything felt different…as if I was in a different place, a different time. Looking down at my body, I saw myself wearing a cream colored dress with blue threadwork all over the gown. It was beautiful, and I wanted to see the result in a mirror, but for some reason…there wasn't a single mirror in the room. So I rushed towards the huge double doors, and pushed them open, immediately being surrounded by the pleasant fragrance of flowers and the sound of music drifting down the hallway. Immediately, memories unfurled within me like the wings of a butterfly and a sense of nostalgia hit me as I realized where I was…
Lilac's P.O.V No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the image of Krimson out of my mind. It was as if his presence had seeped into my very being, leaving an indelible mark that refused to fade. In the dream, he seemed so different, so far removed from the person I had come to know. His face held a softness that I had never seen before, like that of an innocent boy, someone who had yet to cross the teenage years into adulthood. Yet, his features were the same, his unmistakable charm still intact, even though he looked nothing like the man I had known for the past four years. A nagging doubt gnawed at me, making me wonder if I had seen the right person at all. And the main reason behind this doubt was the eyes of the boy I had seen. While Krimson's eyes now were a deep crimson, as depicted by his name, his eyes in my dream had been a vivid, electric blue that seemed to pierce right through to my soul. They had been beautiful…like two sapphires ignited from wi
Lilac's P.O.V "Liam?" The last thing I had expected was to find Liam standing outside the Soup House, waiting to talk to me…like nothing had happened at all last night. Right…to him, it was probably nothing… "I…um…" he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "I wanted to talk to you…about…" "The shitshow that went down last night?" I asked outright, my voice holding no remorse. "Sorry to inform you, but my memory isn't working too well. Just pretend like it never happened and forget that we were ever knew each other." "Lilac! You know that's not possible!" He stood in my way, blocking me from the entrance to the Soup House. "I just…I really wanted to apologize-" "You think an apology is going to cut it, Liam?" I raised my eyebrows, making him lower his eyes. "After you admitted that the only reason you got close to me was because Serena blackmailed you with a
Lilac's P.O.V Dani's face lit up like a Christmas tree and I felt my heart leap with a mixture of relief and anxiety. The weight of guilt that had been crushing me for the last few hours eased a bit as I saw her lips tilt up into a smile and then I was rushing towards her outstretched arms, and enveloped her in a tight hug that filled my heart with joy. "Dani…I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry!" I whispered next to her ears, holding her tightly in my embrace. "This is all my fault!" Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably as I held her close, my body trembling with the emotions that had been bottled up since I heard about her overdosing at the party, fighting between life and death the whole night until she had finally regained consciousness this morning. I couldn't believe that I had almost lost my best friend! The woman because of whom I had managed to survive in this pack for the last four years! And it was all my fault! She got involved in
Lilac's P.O.V The next day at the soup house was unlike any other I had experienced. I arrived early in the morning, ready to serve food to the array of customers that gathered around during breakfast time, as I had done for the past four years. However, as I stepped through the doors, a sense of unease washed over me. The usual warmth and camaraderie among the staff and patrons seemed to be absent. People's eyes darted away from me as I made my way to the serving area, and whispers and hushed conversations filled the air. I tried to shake off the feeling and went about my duties, ladling soup into bowls and handing out slices of buttered bread or rice, according to the customer's preference, but it soon became clear that something was amiss. As I approached the first table, the elderly gentleman who usually greeted me with a smile turned his head and refused to make eye contact. I offered him a bowl of soup, but he pushed it away, muttering something about not wantin
Lilac's P.O.V As the clock struck twelve, midnight…I lit a candle on top of an empty table…and blew it off. Closing my eyes, I made a wish to the Goddess, the one who had always been ignorant to all my pain and suffering. "Give me strength, give me courage…for what I am about to do tonight." I prayed, folding my hands together. "I'll need everything in me to go through with it." With that, I stood up from the floor and looked back once at the bags that I had already packed, my room now devoid of all my personal belongings. Hoisting that bag onto my shoulders, I stepped out of the room, leaving the Soup House forever as I headed to my final stop before I left this pack behind for good. The road to the Alpha's mansion was only ten minutes away and even though it was only midnight, the pack still looked deserted; the streets clear of any passerby as I walked alone in the night. But there was nothing to fear in this pack, because the
Lilac's P.O.V I didn't know what I was doing when I had come into this room. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. All I knew was that I couldn't deny the pull that I had towards Krimson any longer. It was getting stronger and stronger by the minute and I hated that I liked it so much… His hands landed on my body, warm and hungry as he lifted up my shirt from my waist, to place his fingers directly on my skin. I felt my whole body shudder, as if this is exactly what I had been waiting for my entire life. And maybe I had been… "Lilac," he muttered under his breath, his lips shifting to the top of my neck as he pressed a hot, lingering kiss. But then I stopped him, pressing on his chest with my palms, making him stop to look at me in confusion. I tapped on his hand on my hip, the one he had been using to support my weight, as I unhooked my legs from his hips and stepped down. Krimson watched me with intent, hoping that I would back away, but instead,
Krimson's P.O.V I groaned as I slowly opened my eyes, squinting against the bright sunlight that was streaming in through the windows. The pounding in my head intensified as I tried to piece together the events of the previous night. It didn't take long for the memories to come rushing back. I'd slept with Lilac... My hand moved to my temples, attempting to ease the throbbing headache that accompanied my hangover from the multiple bottles of alcohol that I had consumed to stop myself from going to her, knowing that the bond would be the strongest on her eighteenth birthday. But in the end, none of them had worked…because Lilac had come to me of her own free will. Gritting my teeth together, I sat up on the bed and looked around the room to see what was going on. The bed beside me was cold and empty. The room was a mess, a testament to the wild night we'd had. Empty glasses, crumpled clothes, and the heavy scent of alcohol hung in the air. I couldn't help but cri
