Lilac's P.O.V

"A full search, eh?" The manager licked his lips, eyes me and then Dani, from head to toe. "Why, yes…maybe a thorough search would be a good idea."

Horrified, I stared at the manager as the middle aged man continued to scan, as if undressing us with his eyes. Serena stood beside him, a look of satisfaction on her face as if she had just won the lottery.

Serena was making sure that we had the worst kind of attention in that store and I could see people from outside forming a small crowd as they whispered to each other as to what had just happened. I think I even heard someone in the group grunt out a 'bloody teens' as the turned away from the scene.

The amount of hate I felt at that moment for Serena was something I couldn't even explain. If I was truly some kind of cursed witch, then where was my power now? Why couldn't I command these filthy men, who were looking at Dani and me like we were some kind of prostitutes, to gouge ea

Lilac's P.O.V I struggled against his grip, watching in horror as people peeked from behind the glass display of the stores to watch the scene unfold. But just as I had expected, I was no match for Alpha Krimson's strength. "Where are you taking me?" I snapped, still struggling to break free of his grip, but to no avail. I didn't appreciate being dragged like an animal across the mall, knowing full well that I didn't do anything wrong. It was so embarrassing on all levels and the curious and horrified stares of the onlookers only made matters even worse. Fine, he helped me and Dani by saving us from the clutches of that…goddamned pedophile manager! But that didn't mean he could just drag me around like he pleased! Krimson needed to learn that I wasn't some kind of toy at his disposal that he could treat however he wanted. I dug my heels into the ground, slowing us down, but Krimson simply turned around to look at me, his eyes still ablaze as if there was s

Lilac's P.O.V My eyes fluttered open to the sun filtering in through the curtains, causing me to squirm in discomfort. The warmth that enveloped me felt otherworldly, and as I turned to the other side, the cloud like soft bed dipped and shifted to accommodate my weight. Wait a minute… Soft bed? Sunlight? Was I dreaming or had I died in my sleep and reached heaven? Because the bed at the Soup House was hard and uncomfortable, even though I had found comfort in sleeping on it rather than the cold, hard floor. And there was absolutely no sunlight in that murky room of mine. Then where on earth was I exactly? My eyes snapped open as I tried to process what had just happened, before sitting up on the giant king sized bed. "Wow! It's so beautiful," I murmured, letting out a soft breath. Looking around the room, I saw the burgundy walls, and the white curtains, the patterns delicate and gorgeous. The chandelier on top of the bed was made o

Krimson's P.O.V I stared at the closed door, a growl escaping my lips without my conscious effort. I hadn't meant to…but I hadn't been able to keep the harshness out of my voice after. But at the same time, I couldn't help it. Lilac was an errant child who only acted like the docile little mouse with everyone else but with me. The pack may know her as the helpless charity case that never stood up for herself…but they never knew her like I did. They never saw the defiance, the fire in her eyes that made her different from everyone else. But it was also this very defiance that made me want to rip my hairs out and growl in anger. The sound of plates being placed on the glass table brought my attention back to the present and I turned to face a worried looking Melody, who was looking at the closed doors to the house with concern in her eyes. "Did the child leave already?" She asked me, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Krimson! Why didn't

Lilac's P.O.V Finally, after finishing up my very last test in high school, I handed over my final exam papers to the supervising teacher and I walked out of the examination hall with my head held high and a bittersweet pang in my chest. As much as I was happy to get away from this hellhole, I couldn't quiet explain this weird feeling of nostalgia that weighed heavily on my chest as I thought about how today was going to be the last day I was going to be walking down these familiar hallways, or even saying goodbye to these familiar faces. Despite the fact that I had more enemies than friends, I still couldn't help the pang in my heart as I remembered Dani and her sweet smile as she came bounding down the hallways; or Liam and Tawin as they would crack random jokes at the most random things that we may not have noticed before, but it would make us go rolling on the floor in laughter. There were several bad memories attached to this place…but I couldn't help remin

Lilac's P.O.V I put on the black dress that Beta Luca had gotten me yesterday, before him and Alpha Krimson left town to take care of business in another pack. The top clung to my body, defining my shape while the skirt flared out, swirling around my knees as I twirled once in front of the murky mirror that didn't seem to get clean even after the thousand times I had wiped it down. But nothing could spoil my mood today as I patted my hands through the skirt, feeling the soft fabric slip through my fingers like liquid silk. To say that this was a gorgeous dress would be an understatement…and Beta Luca had given it to me, after several protests, as a present for finishing high school. Liam might think that he was being sneaky enough by holding the party in his house while his parents were away…but the truth was, Beta Luca knew exactly what was going to happen under his nose and he actually didn't seem to care. In fact, I think he wanted Liam and they rest of

Lilac's P.O.V Dani and I had hardly turned the corner from the sidewalk that led to the path to Liam's house, but we could already feel the beat of the music reverberating through the whole neighborhood, the ground beneath us seemed to buzz with the aftermath. "Wow, this is a whole lot." I sighed in exasperation as I saw the cars lining up both sides of the street, not leaving a lot of space for normal traffic. Good thing that Liam's family was at the end of the road and from the looks of it, most houses around this area seemed empty. Probably because Liam was throwing a party and everyone had decided to run while they still had time. "Of course it is darling, Tawin and Liam told us, remember?" Dani chuckled. "It's the biggest party this year!" "I know, but…didn't he say that there would only be kids from our year group?" I pointed to the people who were only on the outside of the house. "Does this look like only a senior year part

Lilac's P.O.V Dani and I both paused at the sound of that voice and as we turned, I saw Liam standing behind me with a devilish grin on his face. "Liam…" I breathed out, suddenly feeling everything else fall away as I stared into his mischievous green eyes. He was wearing a black shirt with the first few buttons unbuttoned, showing off his tanned skin, enough to tease the girls who had been drooling all over him. He even had a gold chain on and his hair was all messy yet silky enough that I wanted to run my fingers through them. "Here you go ladies," Tawin interrupted the moment and a red plastic cup was help in front of me and Dani. "Drinks are on the house." "Of course they're on the house, silly." Dani took the cup with a giggle. "It's your party." "Thanks." I accepted the glass and after taking only a sip of the liquid, I could already feel the burn right down to my stomach. "Woah!&

Lilac's P.O.V Confusion swirled in my mind as I looked at the closed door and what had just happened… Tawin…had spiked our drinks? But why? What would he get out of this? I didn't even understand what locking me and Liam in this room would even accomplish? After all, we were wolves…we could knock down the door at any moment. But after using nearly all of my effort to get up from the floor and getting into a sitting position…I realized that I had mistaken the effects of alcohol on a werewolf body as well. I was barely sober…and Liam didn't look any better than me in any aspect… The least I could hope for was that Tawin would keep his promise and keep Dani safe by getting her home safely… "What is happeningssss." Liam slurred, rolling over on the floor so he could look up at me. "W-why…why…Tawin?" "Our drinks…were spikeddd…" I slurred out as well, barely making it to the door as I crawled on my hands and knees like a snake. &q

Lilac's P.O.V It's been a long ride and a very eventful one at that and anytime I think about what Krimson and I have been through, I'm just grateful we had the strength to go through everything we went through and we were able to come out of it even stronger than how we were before. As the sun cast its warm, golden rays across the university campus, I found myself sitting on a bench, the weight of decisions pressing against my chest. The soft whispers of the leaves rustling in the gentle breeze mirrored the conflicted thoughts swirling in my mind. Krimson, my mate, had offered a future tied to our pack, an enticing prospect for many, but not for me. I gazed at the sprawling grounds, feeling a tug in my heart that wasn't just about academic pursuits. The university held promises beyond the textbooks and lectures. It offered freedom—freedom to carve my own identity, to explore knowledge that extended far beyond the boundaries of our pack's traditions. I yearned to brea

Krimson's P.O.V I woke up to the pale light filtering through the hospital room, the faint beeping of monitors sounding in the background. My vision was hazy at first, the events leading up to this moment a jumbled mess in my mind. As I blinked and slowly tried to focus, the first thing that became clear was Lilac's form, peacefully asleep in a chair next to my bed. Relief washed over me as memories flooded back, fragments piecing together into a coherent narrative. "Lilac," I whispered softly, my voice hoarse from disuse. She stirred slightly, a faint flutter of eyelashes against her cheeks, but she remained deep in slumber. The sight of her there, unwavering by my side, despite everything that had transpired, filled me with an inexplicable warmth. I couldn't help but recall the chaos of that night—the confrontation, the whirlwind of emotions, and then the blankness as consciousness slipped away from me. But here I was, waking up to her steadfast presence. It m

Lilac's P.O.V I watched Silver hurl accusations at me, adding to my guilt. I wanted to explain, to make her understand that it wasn't intentional, that the circumstances had shifted beyond my control. But words seemed to desert me in that moment as I grappled with the weight of her accusation. However, Krimson's voice echoed in the room then, commanding even though weak. "Silver, it's not Lilac's fault," he said firmly, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "I made the decision. I took action to protect." Silver's gaze snapped toward Krimson, her eyes filled with disbelief. "What are you saying, Krimson? You hated her, didn't you? Then why would you risk your life to save her?" Krimson shook his head solemnly. "No, Silver. I never hated Lilac, it was our circumstances that I hated. It felt like the Goddess had played a cruel joke on me. But I couldn't run away from a bond fated by the goddess herself, Silver. I had caused Lilac enough pain as it is…I

Lilac's P.O.V I nodded, my mind racing with the urgency of the situation. I moved towards Silver, hoping against hope that all of this worked. "Silver…" I called out to her slowly, making her head snap in my direction. "Please…you need to stop all of this." But Silver's face twisted in a sinister smirk. "It's too late to stop any of this, Lilac. This ends with one of us." "It doesn't have to be that way, Silvia." I shook my head, pleading with her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Del approaching her steadily from behind her, while I kept on engaging her in conversion. "It does, Lilac." Silver snapped at me, turning her body around so she was facing me completely. "You don't understand-" It was all Del needed, for her to turn away, so that our plan worked. Without wasting a second, he came up behind Silver and wrapped his arms around her body, holding her in place as he took her by surprise

Lilac's P.O.V For a moment, time seemed suspended, the tableau frozen in an eerie stillness. Silver hesitated, her gaze flickering between me and Krimson, the dagger held poised in the air, its lethal purpose momentarily forgotten in the face of Krimson's interruption. "Step away from her, Silver," Krimson's voice cut through the tension, unwavering and authoritative. His stance was firm, commanding obedience without question. The grip of Silver's magic lessened, the pressure easing just enough for me to draw a ragged breath. My muscles protested as I struggled against the binds anew, though I didn't dare to take my eyes off Silver, her expression a maelstrom of conflicting emotions - anger, desperation, and a hint of something I couldn't quite place. "Krimson, you shouldn't be here," Silver's voice wavered, a tremor betraying the turmoil within her. Her grip on the dagger faltered, uncertainty clouding her features. "You know I couldn't stand by and

Lilac's P.O.V The air was thick with tension, a palpable energy that crackled around us like a storm waiting to break. "Silver, you're fooling yourself if you think you can wield that kind of power," I said softly, my gaze fixed on the gleaming knife in her hands. "You're not a true Silver Alpha Breeder, you never will be. You can't ever access my full potential." Silver's laughter cut through the serene air, a sound that held a hint of something darker beneath its surface. "Oh, you have no idea, do you?" Her eyes glinted with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. "You underestimate what a witch can do, what I can do. I'm part wolf, part witch. I'm a hybrid that is already stronger than both a wolf and a witch! There's nothing I cannot do, Lilac!" "You think I chose you to lead our pack because of some noble sentiment? No, Lilac." Her voice was cold, devoid of any warmth. "I chose you because I knew the stronger you became, the more that dormant p

Lilac's P.O.V My eyes brimmed with confusion and hurt as I confronted Silver in the dimly lit room I was being held captive in. "Did you…ever really consider me a friend, Silver?" my voice trembled with a mixture of fear and desperation, my heart aching with the weight of betrayal. Silver, her gaze heavy with sorrow and a haunted past, met my eyes. "I used to belong to a peaceful pack, a pack that had been my home since the day I was born," she began, her voice tinged with a raw emotion that spoke volumes of her pain. "We lived in harmony, in unity. It was everything to me." Tears welled up in Silver's eyes, reflecting the agony of memories etched deep within her soul. "Your father," she whispered, the words heavy with anguish. "He... he attacked our pack. In the dead of night, when darkness cloaked the land, he led a brutal assault." I felt my heart ache for the woman that I had once considered my biggest alley, but now, she had turned out to be my bigges

Krimson's P.O.V The night hung heavy around us as we tore through the city streets, the engine's roar mingling with the howling wind. Del and I were on a mission—racing against time to reach Silver's apartment. It was imperative that we find Lilac before anything sinister unfolded. "Alpha Krimson, step on it!" Del's voice cut through the adrenaline-charged air, urgency lacing every word. His grip tightened on the door handle as we swerved through the dimly lit alleys, the neon signs blurring into streaks of color. "I'm pushing it as hard as I can!" I shouted back, my eyes fixed on the road ahead. The weight of worry pressed on me like a leaden cloak. We had to reach Silver's place, and had to find Lilac safe and sound. Finally, screeching to a halt outside Silver's building, we leaped out of the car. Breathless and tense, we dashed up the stairs, each step echoing the pounding of our hearts. As we reached Silver's door, our hopes soared, but a hollow silence gre

Lilac's P.O.V As I slowly arose to consciousness, I found myself grappling with the weight of my heavy eyelids. My mind sluggishly pieced together the fragments of reality, pushing through a dense fog of disorientation. The air felt heavy, each inhale a laborious effort that failed to fill my lungs as it should. A peculiar lightheadedness swept over me, a disconcerting sensation akin to floating on the edge of a dream. My initial attempt to stretch my arms, to move, met an unexpected resistance. Panic flickered through my drowsy mind as the realization hit home—I was restrained. My fingertips brushed against something coarse and unyielding, confirming my fear. The sensation sent a jolt of adrenaline through my groggy state, clearing the haze momentarily. I tried to rise, only to discover the cruel truth of my predicament: bound, not just by ropes or chains, but tied firmly to what appeared to be a marble table. The cool surface pressed against my skin, a s
