Mirage's P.O.V My eyes fluttered open to the familiar ceiling of my room back at the packhouse of the Ocean Runners pack. However, it took me a second to realize that it wasn't the ceiling to the room that I shared with Alex…but the room that I had been staying at before…when I had first arrived at the pack. But before the sinking feeling could settle in my stomach, a face appeared in my vision that had my eyes widening with shock as my memories of recent times returned with a vengeance. "Maze!" "Finally, sissy!" She gave me a big smile. "I was getting tired of waiting for you to wake up!" And with that, she literally pounced on top of me, engulfing me in her arms and swamp me in the familiar scent of her body. I wrapped my arms around her just as tightly; holding on to her just like she was holding on to me. At Alistair's place, there had been hardly any time for us to actually interact with each other, but now, w
Mirage's P.O.V Alex watched Maze bounce out of the room with a smile on his face. "I've never had siblings, but now I miss not having one." He gave me a sheepish smile. "Maybe we should make sure that our kids don't feel alone, so we should have many." My heart literally threatened to burst out of my chest. "You're not mad?" "Mad?" Alex's smile instantly turned into a glare. "I'm ready to throw you into the dungeons and throw away the keys so you don't ever think about doing stupid things ever again." He closed and locked the door before he came to sit at the foot of the bed, keeping a safe distance from me. I missed his touch…I missed not having him near me; especially when he was purposely shutting off the mating bond from his side. I wasn't even aware he could do that. "I…guess we have a lot to talk ab-" "Let's start with the fact that you actually tried to 'drug' me with a few
Mirage's P.O.V The man that stepped out of the van in front of the packhouse…didn't look like my father anymore. I remembered a man with light brown hair, fair skin and sparkling amethyst eyes and lips that were always smiling. He used to glow with a certain light, as if he truly was some kind of a fairy…a fairy of joy and happiness and love. But this man…he had dark, matted hair that was cut short plastered to his skull. His eyes were sunken in and his lips were pressed together into a thin line. His skin was ashy and the glow I once knew was all but gone. Moreover, he was now bent at the waist and almost less than half his weight. It was as if those monsters had sucked him dry over and over, making him survive on the bare minimum just so he could once again produce more blood for them. The names of those who had our father hadn't been disclosed by the Queen, but Maze's mate feared that whoever it was that had him, was very close to the Queen, if not someone fr
Mirage's P.O.V "Now that everything important has been done and dealt with…are we going to talk about how you deserted us all and went your merry way or are we just going to pretend that you didn't just act like a major bitch?" Sarah almost spat out her morning coffee while Darcia, Cameron and Alex jumped up from the table and disappeared out the door like little traitors, leaving me to deal with Freya's wrath all alone. It was a week after my dad had gone away to the Autumn Court with my grandmother and a day since my sister left with her mate for Alaska, with a promise to visit as often as she could. But now that everything was done and dusted…it came time to face the hardest part. Freya and Sarah. The two women who had come to mean more than family to me. And the two women who I abandoned and hid information from as I went with Alistair, with the thought that I might never see them again. For Freya…the betrayal was even deeper, especiall
Sarah's P.O.V I don't know why Mirage and Freya kept giving me nervous looks, but I wasn't the least bit nervous about my own wedding. Honestly, I had thought I would be more than a little nervous. In fact, I had prepared myself to go all Bridezilla on my bridesmaids and probably be nit-picky about everything as well. But now that the day had finally arrived for the Mating Ceremony…I was oddly calm about everything. And why shouldn't I be? I was already mated to my would-be Alpha mate, Darcia and I could hear his feelings for me loud and clear inside my mind. He loved and treasured me just as much as I did him. I had a wonderful mate, a beautiful family and a wonderful life planned ahead of me amongst my friends and family. Being the Luna had never been my priority, but it had been an added bonus that my mate had turned out to have Alpha blood and that made my parents, who had wanted to force me onto Cameron before he found his mate, immensely happy. What else c
Freya's P.O.V "I don't even know why I'm nervous…right?" I asked both Mirage and Sarah as they stood making last minute adjustments to my clothes and make-up. "I mean…its Cameron! I can feel him! He's not going to run away…there's not going to be any rain, I checked the weather report like…a thousand times…there's not gonna be a thunderstorm…oh god! Tides! What if the high tides roll in and drown the entire ve-" "Freya," Sarah gave me a calm smile… "If you don't stop panicking, I swear to the Moon Goddess that the only one drowning in the sea tonight will be you and your pretty dress. We get it. You checked all the signs and so did we. EVERYTHING is under control." I gave her a nervous laugh as my stomach churned with nervousness. "Oh…god!" "Oh no!" Mirage rushed to me with a bucket. "Are you sure you're not pregnant? You've been oddly…fidgety all morning…the entire week to be honest. Even at Sarah
Mirage's P.O.V Alex took my hand and urged me away from the crowd. Freya's wedding had just concluded and the party was in full swing. The new bride and groom were dancing their second dance alone on the dance floor and since Freya's biological father was no longer in the picture, Alpha Charles was going to be the one to dance with her next. It was a beautiful moment and I didn't want to miss it, but apparently, Alex had other plans. He began dragging me away only went the dance was half-way done. "What?" I frowned at him, puffing up my cheeks in disappointment. "I really wanted to dance with you next…" "I have a better place for us to dance at." He gave me a cheeky smile and began dragging me away from the crowd and to a deserted area of the beach, away from all the celebration. "Where are we going?" I asked impatiently, thankful that my dress went only to my knees. If it had been to my ankles, it would be col
Lilac's P.O.V: 'Run, little wolf…run!' The words kept reverberating inside my head as I dashed past the forest giants, going deeper and deeper into the forest with each step I took. It was dark, and with each step further into the forest, it kept getting darker. The canopy provided no scope for light and the only thing keeping me from turning insane was this insatiable urge to just 'run'! 'Run, little wolf…run!' Who was it? Whose voice did I keep hearing? That daunting, sardonic voice that kept running through my mind on repeat despite me not wanting to hear it. It was scary, that voice, and yet, I had no idea why I was scared of it. I had woken up in the middle of these dark woods, with no idea what time it was or how I even reached there. All I could remember was fire and smoke and screams…so many painful screams that made a shiver of fear run down my spine. Something had happened to my pack…something terrible…and yet, I couldn't remember wha
