It was….fortunate that the poison wasn't as strong as the curse marked on Varick during that day.

Yet, I was so exhausted that I almost dropped my knees or faint from weariness.

Panting, I tried to catch my breath as I stared at Magellan in the eye, without an ounce of fear ingrained in my eyes.

However Magellan's burly face turned pink as his eyes were visibly wide.

With his shaky accusing finger, he pointed at me. "A DEVIL! The Luna is a bloody devil in disguise!"

Oh Hati. I couldn't believe this dreadful beta male—!

The guards harshly pushed my wobbly, weakened body on the ground as my arms were forcibly held tight by them.

Now, my face kissed on the cold, dirty pavement. And it only brought a sinister laughter from him.

"This woman shall be executed this instant!" He bellowed.

"Don't hurt her!" The child grabbed the leg of the guard. "She saved my papa! You can't do that to her!"

The male wolf I saved kneeled before Magellan.

"It is true that I am against their reli

Hello there! I'm sorry for the delayed chapter! January has been the worse month for me as I was sick, lots of work to do and well, things happened outside writing. :( Now, that my schedule is fixed, chapters will be updated daily as usual. One more thing: I decided to improve the character development and their romance instead of toxicity in their relationship. So it will end up as romantic as they grow. HOWEVER, dark elements OUTSIDE romance is still present there. Hope that clarifies where this story leads to. Like this story so far? Please feel free to review~

The Skollist pack should have been overjoyed to hear the news of the upcoming heir taking over the pack. But time had been cruel to the wolves born in this pack. None were jubilant anymore, especially when many had lost their lives in the sudden invasion. From the looks of the pack, after hearing my pregnancy, they weren't exactly thrilled for the security of their protector.Perhaps Magellan's words resonated their true feelings more than Varick's obligation to protect them.If anything, Varick was more… disconnected within the pack and Magellan took advantage of it. However, after I felt his hand gripping mine and was shaking, I turned to him and even if he didn't show it, I caught a glimpse of fear in his eyes as cold sweat dripped from his cheek. "Varick?" I called to him in a low, whispering voice. And he broke the trance that kept him lost in his thoughts."Are you okay?" I asked. He didn’t respond, as he only stared at the crowd as they were slowly dissipating, the father an

He sighed as his grip on his hold around my sides tightened. His expression darkened. “The Seer doesn’t know how to keep his mouth shut.”It was actually Phineas who told me before meeting that sadist but it was best to keep it to myself or else I probably wouldn’t see Phineas for a long time. I waited patiently for Varick to answer. He looked bothered and he was obviously taken aback from my question earlier. I knew that Varick didn’t like to show vulnerability but if he only kept all of his problems to himself, there wouldn’t be any chance to break it. I shouldn’t fear him. In fact, I lost that fear the moment when I got to know him more. “Varick…” I called him again. “Why are you so keen to know?” He retorted with a question. He just walked forward, passing by a familiar direction closer to our house. I grimaced. “Because I’m your mate.” “Last time I checked, you didn’t like the slightest idea of being mated by me.” He was definitely steering the topic away. “It wouldn’t m

We hadn’t spoken about his revelation since then. Rather, he didn’t allow me to bring it up. But then again, what should I say? Looking back, when I saved him from the spell that couldn't be done, it made sense why he was outraged when I stole his chance of his twisted sense of freedom. No, he would have done that when he had the chance to die in battle. Varick continued to have a strong sense of responsibility to his pack more than his secret desire.Leaving me in my thoughts, he walked past me and I swiftly turned, following him like a worried hen. Now that I knew his thinking, I felt this strong urge of concern. He exited the house and at that moment, I thought he was trying to escape—only to stop by at the porch. He picked a pebble which was kissed on the sole of his boot and stared at the bushes outside. I continued to observe him so I stayed next to him. Then—He threw the pebble directly to the bush, like an arrow circumferenced until I heard a quiet shriek. My eyes gre

  • The Alpha's Bridal Nun   "Side Effects"

That evening, after eating our rabbit stew, I continued observing Varick as we headed back to our bedroom. I observed his every move as he prepared our bed. He was very meticulous and surprisingly attentive to cleanliness that I wouldn’t have noticed if we didn’t have maids around. He could be a great house wife if he were a woman, I mused. But he had done a lot today, so I offered to do it for him. Only to rouse his annoyance, stating I shouldn’t do anything to harm the baby.I intentionally rolled my eyes in front of him, and his glare darkened. Yet none of us would make an encore of our usual bickering as we turned our backs against each other in an unusually comical manner. It was a long day, after all. Varick hadn’t had a wink of sleep since the invasion. I could at least allow him to rest.We laid on bed in silence and the room was completely dim, minus the rushlight placed next to the bedpost. We didn’t have enough wood for the fireplace and I took a mental note to get them

At that moment, I could just ignore him and shut my eyes , pretending that this embarrassing situation was nothing but his figment of imagination. "Did you…just pleasure yourself?" But this is Varick we were talking about here. He wouldn't let it slide when I did something that caught him off-guard. "Err…no?" It was my failed attempt of lying and I took a mental note to chant a redemption prayer intensively in the morning. "Lying to me is futile, church maid." When was the last time he said that nickname? But based on his tone, it felt different. I took a peek with my one eye and above me, Varick had a rare sight of amusement on his expression. I scowled as I turned my back against him. My heart raced along with the unending discomfort between my legs. Once again, I cursed the Seer and wished to get even on him one day. "I always thought these what you called carnal desires are being frowned upon in your church." "B-blame your acquaintance, the Seer!" I swiftly turned my he

I couldn’t help but scream as that sinful tongue delved into a nectar-spilled cavern. It felt heavenly as my body arched, spilling more of my essence.Varick retreated as his face was drenched, only to see me panting as my face completely flushed. He looked startled as he wiped my fluid from the cheek and stared at it. I unconsciously shied away from the sight. “You are more sensitive than usual. Is this what the Seer’s medicine could do?” Did he expect me to answer? I refused to speak as I was still aroused after the second orgasm. Instead, I spread my legs, raising them up as I shut my eyes tight. My lust was worse than it ever had been. Needy and achy as I trembled before him. Now, in a compromising position, he should have known by now how I needed to be filled by him and get this done with. Then I heard the rustling of clothes and when I took a peak, the Alpha leader had already dropped his trousers and his large length rubbed its leaky entrance. • The Alpha's Bridal Nun   An Unexpected Guest

It was a miracle that I fell asleep that night after Varick left. My body was sore yet I could sigh in relief that the heat finally left me when I woke up. After relief, my brows furrowed, and I was seething with anger. I turned to punch the bolster in frustration. 'I AM GOING TO MAKE THAT SEER PAY! I DON'T NEED ANY OFFENSIVE SPELLS TO PUT HIM IN HIS PLACE!'' I dropped and buried my face in the bolster and I screamed my frustration. Who was I kidding? The damn Seer was the closest to the Moon Goddess. It would kill me instantly before I could lift a finger on him. When I caught a whiff of Varick's scent on the bed, the memories left me confused, angry, and lost. It was an overwhelming feeling, and I was hoping my words could at least reach out to him.But he showed mortification and the way his body shook meant it wasn't really my imagination when his hand trembled on my hand."I am sorry."His apology repeated in my mind. But what really caused him to lose himself? I tried to r

  • The Alpha's Bridal Nun   A Difficult Choice

Something didn't feel right. Varick allowed me to see my father, allowing me to stay in the church when he detested the thought of his mate as a Hati supporter. "Phineas…how long are you away?" He shrugged. "Honestly, I couldn't tell this time. After all, this is the first time that we are going to strike the pack first. Normally, it was the opposing pack who would come to fight against us." The same pack that defiled Lenalee and the cause of the invasion. “C-can you tell me if you can give an estimation?” “Well…” he pondered. “Maybe a year or so. We don’t know what their so-called “technology” would do to us.” That would mean that the Skollist heir would be born without seeing their father. My lips pursed while I was in deep thought. Father Gossep was oddly quiet as he listened to our conversation. "Are you…leaving right away?" I asked. He nodded. "The army is waiting for me before we set off. I only came here to bring your father to you in your husband’s stead. The Alpha

Warning: implied sexual child abuseVarick’s POVI despised the thought of resting. It is the time when I’m the most vulnerable that anyone could easily slit my throat. So, I’ve always trained myself to be wary of my surroundings even when my consciousness drifted to its slumber. But it wasn’t what ticked me off. Rather, I wouldn’t mind being killed in my sleep if anyone dared to do so. It was the dreams that continue to haunt me. Dreams of old realities that I locked in my memories.Sometimes I dreamt of the time of that night after my marriage with Rosaria. Bounded by fate that I couldn’t escape, I thrusted my anger and self-loathing into her while I forcibly took her chastity. Anger on the fate given to me as I would die an inevitable death and to everything else that happened before the revelation. As soon as I poured my first seed into her unwilling womb, she murmured something under her breath and I pulled her away, catching a glimpse of her lifeless eyes before I stormed out o

“PHINEAS!”The sound of my voice reached his ears like a thunderclap, making him jump from his seat. The moment I entered his tent, his robes were drenched and stained with red wine. “Have I called you at the most inopportune timing?” I shouldn’t have asked, seeing Phineas in a foul mood, I knew I shouldn’t bother him at this hour. Seeing bottles of alcohol on the table, he had been drinking the entire time. He squeezed the bottom part of his robes while continuing to glare at me.“What?” It must be the alcohol talking but his cheeks were flushed red—but then again, it could be because his anger pointed directly to my direction. “Sorry, Phineas but it would be great if I could speak to you alone. Could we teleport somewhere else?” I whispered as I glanced at the tent outside, hearing the voices of gossiping women and children playing around didn’t give us any privacy at all.He immediately noticed the change of my expression and despite overdosing with alcohol, he recovered to sobr

  • The Alpha's Bridal Nun    A Lucid Dream

It took them months before they took all of their Skollist pack members and hid them all in the large grotto where they knew they were safe. Just as suspected, more of the nuclear bombs dropped from the sky and directly to their vicinity and the area was nothing but a wasteland. Nearby packs and other races had long fled from their homes from the toxic fumes reaching their territory and begged to move across the borders and away from the war. But the Red Moon Pack wouldn’t give a damn. They only wanted what they were meant to do in the first place: To eliminate Skoll’s descendant along with his pack. And so, all hid in the grottos, the swamps and the forests hidden from the human eye. And they feared the worst that the more they threw those “bombs” into their land, the lesser chance of making the area inhabitable. The Skollist wolves had gone defiant that some had gone rogue and begged the wolves across the border to enter—only to reach their demise as they were kil

"Do you actually believe that elf, my lord?" Perturbed by the events, Herschel asked the second time after they departed. They walked back to the grotto whereas the elf known as Verona embarked a quiet journey back home. "Whether I believed her or not, the fact that the atomic bomb was true. If they strike again, most likely they will strike our kingdom first."And there would be no pack to protect if all failed. "These bombs…even this is beyond my expertise," he murmured, apprehensively. "What must we do to stop the bombs, my lord?""Humans are aware that they do not wish to interfere with magical beings and their affairs. They are supported by the Red Moon Pack. If we kill its Alpha, they have no reason to attack us."For now.“What about this human bard she spoke so highly of? Why did he save us, my lord?”Varick's lips pursed yet his feet didn't stop heading back to the grotto. All of his years, the Alpha of the Skollist pack often speaks with his mind. When he

  • The Alpha's Bridal Nun   A Monstrosity

It had been twenty minutes and there wasn't any progress in healing the mages. Their burns and their exposure to the explosion had been too difficult to heal them, let alone those who were unwilling to be touched by me. In fact, I couldn't as the chemicals and toxic scent might be contagious. So, Phineas and I made a wind barrier to avoid spreading the toxin around the pack. Yet, even so, I had to hurry or else the rest of the soldiers' lives would reach their inevitable end unless I made haste. "Please…let me die…" These agonizing words continued repeating in between their groans. Yet, I continued chanting the Holy Lycan spells, avoiding a single second of distraction as I tried to repair the soft tissues of their burned skin. Yet, fixing a charred skin to its original form would take hours for a single man. I started to doubt I could save them all. 'No, I shouldn't think like this! These men deserved to live!' I thought as a trail of sweat irritated my eye as I continued

I love this book but for the time being with the burn out I'm feeling, I'd rather pause and continue once everything is fine. Once again, thanks for your support for reading this book. “Phineas, send us there now!” Yet, Phineas stood there, petrified like his eyes stared at the smoke before him. I grabbed his shoulder and violently shook him to regain his senses. “We have no time, Phineas! Varick is—!”“No, we can’t.”At first, his cold voice surprised me before I glared at him. “Why not? We are the healers, aren’t we?!”Phineas turned to glare at me. “Luna, don’t let your emotions sway your decision! You can use your canine senses, right?!”As soon as he mentioned it, I sensed it. The scent was faint yet I could recognize it so well. I didn’t realize the lingering smell of a mixture of decaying bodies and toxins around the area. It made my stomach churned as I knelt on the ground.I rushed to a nearby bush and vomited. I was holding my breath for too long and when I came to my senses, the scent was so agonizing that I knelt down and threw up.“I can’t risk you going there, Luna. Yet, none were successful to ever live after the betrayal. "This will be the day we will kill you, Varick!" Cassius, the Alpha of Blue Fangs bellowed. Varick didn't respond as he threw out his sword and shield, making the enemy side "think" he surrendered. No, wolves who personally fought him knew that his armor was more of a disability of his. And now, the Alpha decided to strip himself off his armor, showing his chiseled body with his battle scars. The enemy packs roared in laughter."Surrendering yourself naked? • The Alpha's Bridal Nun   Reaching The Red Moon Pack

They had finally arrived at the gated vicinity of the Red Moon Pack. They camped within the grotto within the waterfall as it was a great place for their hidden base. The pack also removed every trace of their tracks behind. Horses were situated outside the grotto and three of the troops acted as guards and feeders for the stallions. The tents were placed as their temporary residing station. It was at night time when they arrived and they lit a bonfire inside. They made sure the vicinity was being protected by the High Mage's magic barrier to avoid tracing their scent. All men, weary from moving on foot, sat on the ground as they were waiting for the Alpha to make his speech. As they knew this war would be the first they decided to strike. In the past battles, a fight between them and the other packs happened when the outsider decided to strike them first. Now with the successful invasion and the innocent lives died through an unknown cause, in their minds, st
