Alana's POV.

I knew after the news that Alpha Matthew declared at the dining room, I couldn't calm myself down. My spirit was elevated and my stomach was bubbling with blue butterflies, so I decided to tour around the house.

I kept moving from one room to the other, amazed at how splendid and elegant everywhere is and like a dream come true, this is my life now. No reason to sleep each night and be scared of what my future would be, at least I hoped.

I was finally going to be a pack doctor. As the thought swirled in my head like a whirlwind, I stopped at the entrance of a room in the hallway. It was on the same floor as my room, so I didn't see any reason not to explore it.

My eyes drifted around, and when I didn't see any guards or hear any sound, I walked inside.

"Wow." My eyes popped wider at the interior decor. Whoever chose the decoration of this room had good eyes, from the king-sized bed with a lining of red bed sheets that blended with the walls of the room to the dark brown furniture made with sandalwood.

I caught sight of a book on the cabinet next to the bed and went there to take a look when my ears picked on the creaking of a door.

I hurried to drop the book and jumped to my behind, and my breathing stopped for a second when I saw Alaric.

He wasn't just standing there, but with a towel hanging low on his waist. I instantly felt a lump in my throat at the gorgeous sight of him.

"Alaric," I muttered.

"Alana," he called with a swift tone. His eyes darted to the opened door for a second. "You're in my room." His voice wasn't accommodating, and I knew I had to defend myself.

"This is your room?" My voice came out as little as a dove.

"Yes, and you are in it."

I took one step backward and, trying to look anywhere else but his body, thought of what to say. "That is...that's right. I didn't know. I just came inside because..."

"You need to talk with your voice audible." His eyes landed on me, and with his brows knitted together, my heart was thudding like there's a quake.

"Excuse me?"

"I found you in my room, wandering around over things that don't belong to you, and you think you have the right for a pardon?" As he uttered with authority, dripping off every word, he took one step forward, and the ray of the sun settled on his skin, causing my lips to part.

I should be defending myself, but I was suddenly lost in the sight of his beauty. His milky skin was illuminated like crystals. When he was speaking, those muscles flexed, causing his six packs to tighten, and dirty thoughts wrestled in my head.

My wolf was left defenseless when my eyes dropped to his V-line, where the towel didn't help but reveal how perfect his structure was, and my tongue kept salivating more at his bulge poking through the towel.

No..no, I needed to keep my head straight.

"Are you eye-fucking me? Of course you are." His voice tightened so much that my brain dashed back to reality.

"I'm not." I lied while my wolf was having a hard time focusing. "I was touring around the house when I came across this room, your room, and I walked in when I didn't see any guard around. I thought there wasn't anyone here."

His eyes squinted at me as I spoke the truth. He had gotten closer to me than before, and my legs were against the bed frame, so there was no escape for me.

Just by staring into his dark shade of green eyes, I felt rushes of adrenaline, which kept me tensed.

"Yes, the maids were supposed to come and clean my room, but then, that is something you'd come with just to eye-fuck me."

I was taken aback for a second. What was he trying to do? He was even a bigger ass than I thought. "Hey, I just explained what happened, and what's in your body for me to adore?" I dared my eyes at him, and he chuckled.

"There's a lot, and I can tell a lot from how your eyes kept scanning my body."

I was helpless at this point, and since he was the next Alpha, I didn't want to offend him. "Your accusations are wrong, and it's wrong for you to conclude arrogantly in this situation.

His lips tugged to the left, a grin revealed as he finally took one last step that caught me in his grasp.

His eyes dare into my gray ones, fixated as though he were trying to look for something within, right before he dropped his sight to my parted lips. I thought I was holding my breath, but the fact was just that I couldn't breathe with him this close to me.

I could feel the heat of his wolf on my skin, and just then, my eyes flared when I felt his bulge on my stomach.

"Mate!" My wolf shouted from inside me, which jolted me up, worsening the situation.

"Your cheeks are blushed, your eyes are dilated, your lips are slightly opened, and you're breathing slowly or not at all, and your eyes are gripping your clothes like your life depends on it," he said, but my brain couldn't process what he meant.

"What?"

"Those are all the qualities I needed to know that you came in here just because you were crushing on me. But to remind you, you're technically a family, so you better get those thoughts out of your head." He refrained and went to the mirror in his room, leaving me embarrassed at how my body reacted, and I couldn't save myself from his cold character.

"I'm about to dress up. You still want to stay and see the full package too?" He was enjoying his sarcasm.

Unable to find any words, I walked towards the exit. "Good choice, Alana. You should take one last look at my room so you don't come back acting like you were innocent." He laughed as my legs dragged me out of there.

Alaric's POVI changed into a vintage shirt and a short that stopped above my knees, and rested on the bed. My hair flopped over my forehead while my spirit felt denounced.Right after Alana left, something in me cracked. I had no idea why I was a dick to her or why I had to be repulsive when she hadn't done anything to deserve it. Perhaps I was trying to hide something sprouting deep in my blood, and in the process, I got rude. I began to hate every word I spilled as my mind replayed them for me.In fact, now that I think of it, it was as though I was another being around her. I had felt vulnerable, and all I could resort to was being harsh. Realizing that I couldn't concentrate on anything, I snapped my eyes shut, and that didn't help either. My body remained trapped in my train of thought. The door was still open, so I went there and looked out, a part of me hoping that I'd see Alana there, but she wasn't. After I slammed it close, I branched to the balcony and sat on the armless

Alana's POV.Stifled, I turned off the shower and picked myself up from the ground. Ever since I left Alaric's room, I haven't been well. I have thought of many reason why he was cold to me but my brain couldn't figure it out. He was just harsh and unresponsive. I realized the water was starting to dry on my body, so I roll a towel off the rack and went back into the room. My heart was wounded, especially at the fact that he was icy towards me. Did he not know that he was my mate? I went to the closet and put on a gown. By the way, I hadn't had many clothes yet since Alpha Matthew was yet to update my closet. I remembered him mentioning it during lunch. It was late, still filled with barrels of emotions, gusting at me like a hurricane and I stood up. "Should I confront him?" I asked my wolf, Georgia and as expected, she agreed to my decision without a second thought. "Yes. Yes!" "But what if he sends me away again?""If he's our mate, certainly, he wouldn't. Maybe he wasn't i

Ava's POV"Hey, babe. I'm back from shopping! Damn, you missed so much."My bubbling mood crushed the moment I walked inside Alaric's room, hoping to interest him with the news of my shopping today, until I saw Alana there, and the position at which I met the both of them was suspicious. In my track, I halted for a second, and anger brewed inside me instantly, my teeth gnashing on the inside. What was she doing here? It's about nine in the night, and she was supposed to be in her filthy room, not in my fiancee's room. No wonder she was a lowlife. Everything about her spoke of it. "My love." Said Alaric, opening his arms to me so I could come closer to snuggle in.Although Alaric was reasonably far away from her, as he should since she was a pest, I couldn't help but feel insecure. It better not be what I was thinking. I neared Alaric and perceived the scent of his shirt, and as I expected, Alana's scent was on him. They must have gotten close to each other before I entered. Alana's POV.Stunned, I picked up the pieces of the broken glass cup on the ground. Minutes ago, it was a solid item, fine and fragile, beautiful and glistering, until an evil hand such as Ava's touched it and it fell. Now, it was broken and useless, meant to be packed into a bin. I could relate to that illustration because Ava was breaking my heart, and she indeed knew. Starting with her questions, my wolf had been whining underneath, more saddened that our mate didn't even do anything to stop her. My wolf is nursing my heart right now, while I was careful not to get my fingers cut because obviously no one except Alpha Matthew cared so much about me.Alas, I finished packing it into one of my palms. I wanted to wait and see if my mate would even stop to look at me and see how much he was piercing my heart with molten lava, but I couldn't. He was far in-depth into what he was doing with Ava. She was moaning aloud, and he was grunting with a low tone. I was glad there was a curtai

"You know what, people like you—you're just meant to never have a nice heart. I'm done here." I rolled my eyes at Lucy, about to leave, but I couldn't as she grabbed me by my elbow and sent me back to her front. "What were you saying?" Lucy stood firm in front of me with her eyes boring into mine, like she was about to eat me raw. I batted my eyes but knew I couldn't back down, not at this point. If she wanted to be sassy at me without knowing my kind of person, then I could be rude as well. To be honest, I can even punish her by informing Alpha Matthew of her insolent behaviour."You heard what I said. You aren't my boss. Alpha Matthew never brought me to the maid's quarters or put you in the position to boss me around. And by the way, is she even the head of maids in this pack?"My face had shifted to Aliya, who was just staring at us with wide eyes. She seemed so much like me, who doesn't like conflicts, because she just maintained her distance from us. Aliya didn't answer me be

Alana's POV.I was about to reply to Alaric when Lucy, the sassy and unrespectful maid, took over and stated, "I swear, Master Alaric, I didn't start it. It was her." My jaw slacked and I hung in the air for a second, dazed by how courageous this sassy maid was to lie against me. She began this, and to save herself, she would also lie. This was so crazy, coming from a maid. "No, that wasn't..." Alaric held his hand in the air, which shut me up, and the sassy maid jerked her lips to the left side, delighted that I was asked to hold in my words. As I signaled disapproval with a scowl, I thought to not back down this time again. I wouldn't let Ava defeat me and then a rude maid. Alaric walked over to his study table and exhaled. With his lips open, he gasped in air as he bent down to pick something up. That's also when I caught it. His works. They are soaked in water. Shit!I slapped my hands against my mouth and threw glowers like daggers at Lucy, who's now seeming so gentle and

Alana's POV. Ava spewed further as she rolled her eyes at me. "Yes, that's the best decision, baby. If you don't punish her now, she wouldn't know not to cause trouble another day. We've all had our share of issues, but not like in the midst of them, destroying things. Alana is nothing but a pest." I scoff in disgust. "No, don't you believe me at all? You should know that I would never want to destroy your things. It's so clear that this maid is lying against me." "How do you mean? Didn't all the evidence turn against you? Are you implying that my fiancee is lying against you as well?" He lashed out at me. I was agitated at this point. It was either he put words in my mouth or used my own words against me. Is that how much he believed that I did this?"I already made my decision. You shall be punished, Alana."My tone breaks in my throat. My wolf was in a rage, but we had to keep it down. We wouldn't want to fight our mate if we wanted him to see us for who we were to him; instead

Alaric's POV. "Master Alaric, you can believe that I am the culprit. I'm being framed here. I swear on the moon goddess!" Lucy was quick to fret, her eyes popping out from their sockets like she had just faced the most horrific event of her life. I could almost swear that I believed her again, but I wasn't sure. These maids have been working for me since their first day in the palace, so having to believe that Lucy was trying to frame Alana for an offense that demanded she be punished by me is unrealistic. I shook my head at her words. "Master Alaric!" I held out my palm at her, and she hushed talking. The room was once again pulled back into silence. Then, I walked over to Alana. Zeroed, my eyes stuck on her face, and I said, "Look at me, Alana."When she raised her gaze at me, my nostrils inhaled more air, and my sternum broadened, showing that my heartbeat had quickened. I squinted my eyes as I searched into hers. She was innocent. I could tell, and as the light bounced off

Alana’s POV "Slave Alanna, do you still have anything to say?" The Alpha's loud voice met my ears; he was talking to me. My head was bowed, and I was sure I looked guilty.Slowly, I raised it, tears clouding my eyes, never mind, I was just a weak human and couldn't stop myself from crying. "I didn't do anything to luna." The words choked out of me. I wanted him to believe me, but he didn't."Drop this act, you wretched witch. You did this to me!" The Alpha of the Jade pack, my mate's wife, yelled at me. "You did this," she said again.I shifted my gaze to her, forcing myself to speak. "You're all lying," I muttered in a whisper. "What would you gain?"I was being accused of slapping the Luna. What reason would I have for doing that? I was just an omega slave, and she was a werewolf Luna. How in God's name could I slap her? They weren't thinking."Alanna, did you slap the Luna?"Alaric, my mate, asked."I.. I.. I mean" I couldn't speak, and everyone began to murmur."See, Alpha, she's

Mere hearing that name pulled a certain anger within my vein."That bitch had succeeded in taking everything away from me. I used to think about my life with Alaric and right now,it is obvious my hopes are gone down the drain." I didn't know my voice were loud. I hated that someone like Alanna would take Alaric away from me and all I had in mind was nothing short of revenge."What are you going to do?" Collette questioned and indeed it was the same question that lingered through my heart. What exactly am i going to do about Alanna. It was about time I dealt with her appropriately. "Darling," he responded, my heart breaking into a million pieces at the name he just called her. "She's my mate and new slave. Do you like her?""You brought your mate here without consulting me? Alaric..." She dragged."I don't remember having to take orders from you." The alpha frowned."I'm sorry, baby, it's just..." Again, she looked at the coat. I'm sure she recognizes it as Alpha Alaric's."Don't think too much." He stated, walking to stand beside her, facing me. "Ava, meet Hazel, my omega mate and slave," he began introducing. "Omega," he referred to me, "meet Ava, my wife." What His wife? Alpha Alaric already had a chosen mate?God, was this a joke? It was a cruel joke indeed."Baby, why does she look pale?" Shall we?"He looked at my mate, and he nodded once. The elder looked to me with a soft smile, which I returned."Do you, Hazel?" He stumbled for a second, and I smiled sheepishly. The Elder cleared his throat and started again. "Do you, Hazel of the Sun Moon Pack, accept this union and my blessings?""I do," I muttered."And do you acknowledge and accept that henceforth, you will no longer be a member of the Sun Moon Pack?""Yes." You stink," barked the Alpha, his tone filled with disdain.I rolled my eyes, growing tired of his constant belittling. I couldn't comprehend why the Alpha thought it was a good idea to assign his spoiled omega sex slave to help me prepare for my mating ritual. It was beyond me. When my mate was in the pack, they allowed me to rest, although my mate would occasionally yank me out of bed by my hair if I got too comfortable. Since then, the slave, Jennifer, had done nothing but waste time on her phone and hurl insults at me with her attitude."Yes, Jennifer," I muttered, my voice laced with irritation. She snorted in response and returned her attention to her phone. I was nearly ready for the ritual. My thick brown hair had been pulled up into an elegant twist, with the veil neatly tucked into place. I hadn't worn any makeup, so I had no choice but to embrace my natural appearance. It didn't bother me

All of the paranormals in the pack were assembled on the open ground; they were all listening to Vron's final speech before the battle."My friends, the battle is upon us. Today! We emerge victorious against the pureblood! Charge! She sent Alaric to safety while Colette, who was about as powerful as Rawlaine, fought alongside the others on the ground. Alana wasn't taking part in their battle; her opponents weren't the ant-like wolfs of the Nosferatu, but the twelve purebloods. She didn't have to wait long before they arrived. They attacked her in the sky as soon as they arrived on the battlefield."Hmph, these are the roaches that want to take my powers for themselves." Alana’s POVThe last week came, and I started my training with Lawson. He was polite and cheerful as always, and I was very friendly to him as well. He fought hard, but I took special care not to defeat him even once. That would make his guard low. I knew that I could defeat him, even though I couldn't defeat Rawlaine. If I wasn't wrong, Rawlaine was the most powerful wolf alive in the human realm, apart from the pureblood, if not the most powerful supernatural. On the last day of my training with Lawson, he politely asked for a word with me."Can we take a walk?" He asked."Sure," I replied. We walked to the edge of Lake Geneva, which was on the border of the pack's territory."I heard from one of the witches that you had a shouting row with Rawlaine over me a week ago," he started.I pretended to get enraged on his behalf again. ,"Yes, he was slandering you just to get me to like him. What an attention-seeking jerk!" I exclaimed."He wasn't always like that, you know," he said."He

There were only twelve of the numbers left. Vron was a witch, and the most powerful among the werewolves were the triplet grandchildren of Count Dracula, which were Lawson, the guy from yesterday, herself, and someone called Rawlaine. They were sixty-three years old each, and they were opposing their grandfather by choosing the opposite side from him in the war."We used to be so close when we were young, but something happened.
