Ava's POV
I couldn't look away from his smoldering eyes that seemed to be able to see into my soul. It was like he was able to see all the pain I have been hiding inside and letting me know through his eyes that he was here for me.
It was strange seeing his concerned face directed in my direction. He seemed so sincere and guilty, that it broke my heart knowing that he was sad. It was weird. It must be a mate thing, because he has hurt me, but yet still I was heartbroken because he was sad.
Weird.
I could feel the sparks from where his hand was connected to mine. I was finally getting back control over my body. I squeezed his hand just to make sure that he was actually here and I wasn't imaging this.
He smiled and leaned forward to p
Ava's POVWarmth.I was engulfed in warmth. I snuggled up closer to the warmth feeling oddly comfortable. With a satisfied sigh, I got even more comfortable and went back to my deep slumber.I woke up and stretched my limbs with a bright smile. Last night I had the best sleep that I have ever had in my entire life.I opened my eyes and blinked the sleep away. I tried to move, but felt something holding me down preventing me from moving.I tried moving again and after another failed attempt, I gave up with a huff.I heard mumbling behind me and felt something, or rather someone tighten their hold around me.I blush a crimson red when I saw a stro
Ava's POV"Damn. You look hot. Jayden won't be able to take his eyes off you when he sees you in this" Katie gushed."You think so?" I asked, unsure."If I was a guy, I'd totally hook up with you" she gave me a playful wink."I don't know. Don't you think it's a bit revealing?" I asked, looking at my reflection."I'm not doing this again. You've found a fault with every dress you've tried on and this is like the tenth dress you've tried on""I know, but-""But nothing, you look gorgeous, the dress is gorgeous. You need to get rid of all those negative thoughts running through your mind and remember that you are beautiful"
Jayden's POV"I forgive you" I couldn't believe my ears when she uttered the three words that I have wanted to hear for so long. I knew that I probably didn't deserve it, but I sure was gonna take it.I stare into her gorgeous brown eyes glistening with happiness. I honestly didn't know why it took this long for me to realize that she was the only woman I needed.Everything about her was perfect. There was nothing that she could do or say to change the way I felt about her. Her perfect eyes, face, hair, body, everything about her was simply perfect. Of course she was perfect; she was a freaking angel for crying out loud.Holding her in my arms right now was everything I needed. It was a miracle how I was able to be apart from her for so long.
Ava's POVI was a nervous wreck with all those curious eyes staring at me, waiting for my response. I knew that Jayden did this on purpose, if that amused smile was anything to go by. He was enjoying this way too much and I think that he thought that I wouldn't know what to say, but I was about to prove him and all the rest of them wrong."I suggest that you have an emergency bunker in place to evacuate everyone who won't be able to defend themselves" I said with a proud smile."And what makes you think that we don't already have an 'emergency bunker'?" Jayden smirked.Right.Of course he's already thought of everything. You don't stay on the top by not staying ahead. It was like he was always two steps ahead of his enemies and that was o
Ava's POV The look that he cast my way was enough to make me blush and look away, my previous confidence slowly evaporating from just looking in his eyes. There were so many emotions running through his eyes that made me overwhelmed and unable to keep eye contact. On one hand I was terrified of what I was about to do later on tonight, but on the other hand I was happy to know that I could elicit such a reaction from him. "Would you like to, um, take a seat?" he asked, clearing his throat and scratching the back of his neck. I could tell that he was just as nervous as I was from that simple gesture. "Ye-yeah" I stuttered and cleared my throat as a way to ease the awkward tension in the air. He led me to my awaiting seat at the table and I sat down. The table was covered with a white table cloth and decorated with a few rose petals, with just a single rose in a vase in the middle. There were two place settings at the table, obviously. The yacht was lit up with fairy lights which
Ava's POVLast night was amazing. With a wide smile, I rolled over in bed to face the man that stole my heart. I brushed a few stray strands of his black hair away from his forehead and admired his perfectly sculpted face.My eyes roamed all over his face from his bushy eyebrows, to his long lashes that were almost touching his cheek, to his straight nose, to his strong jawline and then my eyes finally settled on his pink kissable lips.He looked peaceful in his sleep and I didn't want to ruin his peaceful slumber, so I quietly slipped out of bed. As soon as I was off the bed, his hands instinctively reached out for me and I placed a pillow in the spot that I previously occupied. He immediately grabbed a hold of the pillow and brought it closer to his chest and let out a satisfied sigh.I wan
Ava's POV'How do you want to play this? Want me to knock some sense into them?' Alana's voice bombarded my thoughts.'No, I'll handle this,' I answered.'They're going to walk all over you,' she snickered, but gave up on trying to take control of the situation.I could see her, sitting comfortably eating popcorn like she was at the movies in my head. That was yet another reason why I couldn't fail. I had to show her and Jayden that I could handle myself.Ignoring the boys' curious stares; I walked around the desk and sat on the other side of the boys. As soon as I perched my butt on the chair, the boys gasped dramatically."What?" I asked, wanting to know why they were
Ava's POVWe walked side by side across the training field greeting people along the way. I couldn't help but admire everyone I passed. They looked so determined and focused as they trained, while I was dreading my own.I was very sad when Jayden informed me that he wasn't going to train me himself, because let's be honest, imagine training with your mate. A heavy training session could lead to a heavy make out session which would allow me to get out of training sooner, rather than later."Alpha, Luna" a girl bowed before us as soon as we approached. Her forest green almond eyes were a complete contrast to her fiery red hair that was up in a ponytail similar to my own. She was gorgeous with her heart shaped face, straight nose and strong cheekbones. You could tell that working out was a
Five years later...Ava and I got married four years ago. We didn't have a wedding ceremony or anything. All we had to show that we were married were our marriage certificate and our wedding rings. She had insisted that we didn't have a traditional wedding because; she was very self-conscious about her body. She had put on a little weight during her first pregnancy, and ever since then things sort of took a turn for the worst. There was a point where she was so depressed to the point where she didn't want to eat anything. At one point she was unable to take care of herself and our son. But no matter what happened I was still there with her every step of the way.I never gave up on Ava. I helped her back on her feet and back to health. I would tell her every day that she was beautiful
Ava's POVA lot of things have happened these past few weeks. My baby bump was huge, making it hard to get things done, but I managed. We were able to finish my welcoming ceremony and it ended on a high note. We finished with a run in our wolf form through the forest. It was truly a beautiful sight watching all the pack members running alongside me.Things were finally looking up. I just hoped that there wouldn't be any more unwanted surprise. But it seemed that I spoke too soon, because in that very moment I felt water running down my legs.Really!?'You couldn't wait until I finished my ice cream?' I frowned. When I made a move to walk I felt a
Ava's POV"You can't go in there" I heard muffled voices coming from the other side of the door."I need to make sure she's ok" I could clearly make out Jayden's voice.Elsa was on the other side probably blocking his path, which wasn't the smartest idea. Never come between two mates, especially an alpha. They were very overprotective and caring over their other half."If you don't move out of my fucking way this minute, I swear to god that-" I could practically feel the angry radiating off him, even from the other side of the door."That what? You'll rip me to shreds. Go ahead; I'd like to see you try
Jayden's POVBodies. There were dead bodies littering the field, from both sides. I watched as people carried the bodies off the field, some dismembered and others still intact.I was used to war. I was used to losing loyal pack members on the battlefield, but that didn't mean that it got easier. It was especially hard watching the loved ones of the deceased mourn. This time I felt even more responsible than ever before. I wasn't there for them. I wasn't there to help them. I wasn't there to help my people when they needed me the most. How could I look at my people knowing I have let them down?"You didn't let them down. No one blames you for what happened" A voice s
Ava's POV"They're coming"We didn't have time to react or prepare as an army of wolves charged in our direction. I saw a bright flash of yellow from the distance heading towards me, but due to shock I was rooted in my position. I couldn't move, I didn't even blink as the yellow glow came right for me.Instead I closed my eyes and waited for the impact, and when I felt none, I opened my eyes. The yellow glow was gone, it didn't hit me.But how? That's when I heard it. I heard someone groaning on the ground in pain. I cast my eyes downward and away from the chaos to focus on an injured Jayden.Just like last time, there was a big hole in his shirt where the energy burned through. The only diffe
Ava's POV"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Ava... Happy birthday to you" Jayden sang, which was surprisingly good. Now this is a sight that I want to wake up to everyday. Jayden was holding a birthday cake in his hands with an apron wrapped around his waist, exposing his bare chest."Hey sweetheart, the cake is in my hands, but you can definitely have some of this later" he smirked, gesturing to himself.I didn't even realize that I was checking him out until he called me out on it."Who knew you could make baking look so sexy?" I responded in a seductive voice. His eyebrows rose in shock, as he looked at me, his mouth agape. Normally, I
Ava's POVBeep, beep, beep. What was making that annoying beeping sound? I thought as I groaned mentally wanting more than anything to destroy whatever was making that annoying sound.'Turn it off' I rasped out in a scratchy whisper."You're awake. You had us all worried there for a second." A pair of blue eyes appeared before me and I couldn't help but get lost in them.I slowly trailed my eyes over Jayden's face until I landed on his mouth. His mouth was moving, but for some reason no words were coming out.I felt a tingly sensation on my face as the sparks danced along my cheek. I turned my atten
Ava's POV"Breathe. Just breathe" I spoke slowly, comforting a panicked Katie. She was panicking, which made me panic, because I had no idea what to do. I've never been in a situation like this before, and I was truly terrified."You try breathing when-" she screeched. She cut herself off, screaming in pain.By now we have drawn a small crowd around us, with people looking on worriedly. I have tried to get her up from the bench, but each time she would yell at me that she couldn't move. Her face was scrunched up in pain, her eyebrows drawn together as she looked at me with tears glistening in her eyes."Do you need any help?" an elderly woman stepped forward.
Ava's POV"Is there anything that you'd like to tell me?" Jayden asked, looking at me with raised eyebrows."Um, no" I replied confused"Really?" He asked again, looking unconvinced."We're out of milk" I stated my answer as more of a question."So, there's nothing that you have to tell me?" He asked once more."I think we're out of eggs too" I said, stuffing my mouth with pancake."Is that all?""Mhm" I hummed with my mouth full of pancake."Alright, I'll see you later" he came over to me and pecked my lips.He pla
