CHAPTER FIVE

As far as I know, no one outside the pack knows about me. My birth had been hidden from the werewolf world, no one knew about me. Could it be that my pack members betrayed me? From what I know, rogues attack my mum on her way to the dark forest pack. And then her body was brought back to our pack several weeks later.

I knew this because of the autopsy my dad had insisted the pack doctor conduct on her immediately after she was brought back. 

The pack had said they found her dead in the river and truth be told her body was all bloated and blue.

‘You look so pathetic.’ The voice of my mate snapped me out of my thoughts. I sat up looking at him as he walked towards my direction with his hands around Hailey’s waist.

I watched them as they played the role of the perfect mate in front of me. I just couldn’t understand why he would lie to the entire pack that Hailey was his mate. I mean what would he gain from doing so anyway?

If he wanted to become the Alpha of my pack he could have simply married me not to talk of the fact that I was already his mate in the first place.

Besides Hailey’s mate was out there somewhere so why does she even accept him as her mate? Wasn’t she afraid of hurting her mate? What would she do if she found her mate? Would she just reject him because of the title of Luna?

Nothing makes sense to me right now and my throbbing head didn't make matters easy for me.

‘I see that you are recovering pretty fast.’ Julian said and I scoffed. Recovering my foot! I am in immersed pain and he could see that. I passed out for god knows how long only to wake up and find myself locked up in a dungeon. 

I’ve not had anything to eat and drink for days and I’m sure I must look a mess not to mention the lethal amount of wolfsbane that was in my system that was just waiting to kill me at the right time. 

I was literally dying and all he could say was that I was recovering quickly, this bastard!

I looked away from them not wanting to meet their eyes course all wanted to do was rip their eyes out, rip them apart bit by bit then feed their remains to the dog. But I also wanted to make them live in pain and suffering just as they inflicted it on me.

‘What do you want?’ I asked instead my voice sounding foreign even to my own ears.

Shit! The wolf’s bane had affected my vocal cords too. I whimpered feeling hurt, my mother had once told me that my voice was as beautiful as that of a fairy. 

I know it was childish but I couldn’t help but cry as I knew that my voice would never be the same, another part of me that my mom cherished was gone and it was all because of this bastard, I thought. 

The rage and anger fueled me, adrenaline pumping into me. 

I launched at him in full force only to hit the iron bars with a loud thud sound. I got back on my feet trying my best to open the bars, the silver burning my skin, yet all I felt was anger.

‘Feisty! I like that.’ He smirked a glint passing in his eyes as she stared at me hungrily. Hailey that was beside him let out a cry of protest.

‘Alpha darling, this isn’t fair on me.’ She pouted childishly at him rubbing her body against his and I could see the thing in between his legs standing to attention.

‘You will always be my Luna, Hailey. It is you or no one else.’ He assured her caressing her cheeks softly.

'Why don’t we teach this bitch a lesson?’ Hailey glared at me before pulling him down for a kiss, and my body shouldered in pain yet I refused to cry,

I refuse to look away. Maybe watching them was what I needed in other to get over the dread of the days that are about to come. I watched as they proceeded from just kissing each other feverishly to him trying to get his cock inside her.

She smiled into the kiss allowing him to proceed. He squeezed her ass cheek from underneath her outrageously short black mini-skirt before pulling it down exposing her bare skin to the world. 

I knew what was about to come next for the pain was intensifying yet I watched them, refusing to cry, refusing to let them see my pain. 

He continued his assault on her neck, nibbling, tasting, and biting. He looked at me from the corner of his eyes.

That was when I saw it, the look in his eyes, it was pure lust and nothing more. 

I watched as Hailey stroked his hard length to gain back his attention. He finally pulled his trousers down positioning himself in her entrance, I braced myself for the pain that was about to come…

'Alpha- the council members…’ Simon stopped absurdly when he took in the view. ‘I’m so sorry Alpha, I’ll come back at a more appropriate time.’ He bowed his head taking to his heels, but to my greatest surprise, Julian spoke up, ‘No need for that, what do the council members want with me?' 

I am surprised at the turns out of invent. 

Hailey was still clearly naked in front of him and struggling to pull up her skirt. Wasn’t he concerned that someone else would see her? Right, I smiled feeling satisfied with myself. Of course, he doesn’t care about her being seen by others after all she was not his mate to begin with. 

‘The council members are coming tomorrow for pack inspection’ Simon announced. ‘But they haven’t done that in years and besides why are they starting with our pack?’ Julian asked.

‘Probably because we are one of the strongest and rumors about your…’ Simon paused; the hesitation and fear clear in his eyes. ‘I’m sorry Alpha!’ He fell to his knees confusing me the more. 

What in the world would scare a Beta to his kneels?

‘Alpha, rumors are going around that… that- you are not the late Alpha’s son. And that the late Alpha had no…’ He paused stealing a quick glance at me. 

Julian pulled him up by the collar violently, ‘Will you talk or do you want me to do the talking?’

'They said that the late Alpha had no children and that you are just a…em…please forgive me Alpha but they said that you are just a bastard that is taking advantage of this opportunity to rule the pack.’
