My palms became sweaty and I looked around the room hurriedly.

The windows were closed, just like I left them.

I sniffed deeply but there was no other scent in my room to indicate that anyone had been there.

Everything was just the way I'd left it.

Who could have come in and dropped that paper there?

With a determined look on my face, I left the room and headed downstairs, taking the stairs two at a time.

“You're here,” I rushed out as soon as I reached Hilda and spun her around to face me.

“What's going on?” She asked with concern and a hint of fear in her voice as her eyes searched mine.

I took a deep breath to regulate my ragged breathing before asking, “was anyone in my room?”

Confused lines marred her forehead and her brows knitted together.

“Why would anyone be in your room?” She asked.

“I mean, did you….?” I started but decided it was a waste of time.

She didn't know anything.

“Never mind,” I shook my head and let go of her arm.

She looked at me weirdly but before she could ask
