Rolling over, I reach out and he isn't there. His warmth and his scent is gone.

Opening my eyes I feel a deep ache in my heart and know at once he feels my loss as deeply as I feel his.

"You should be with your mate," a part of me thinks.

Trying to shake off my foul mood, I roll out of bed and begin my day.
