Chapter 23 - Bittersweet memories.

I was fooling myself into thinking that the pack would accept another Alpha. Since I was new to this world, I mistakenly believed that it worked the same way as the human world did. I didn’t understand how important it was that the Alpha-born became the Alpha of the pack.

I was quickly learning that the saying “the strongest will survive” was very literal when you were a werewolf. Although we spend most of our time in our human form, and although we were partly human, we would still turn into ravenous beasts every time the moon was full.

Along with the Alpha title came the responsibility of not only leading the pack, but also protecting them. Because I was the Alpha, I was also the strongest. I was beginning to understand why Daniel had acted the way that he did, and kidnapped me.
